iLife V80
The Chinese company iLife has long delighted its customers with the production and sale of home robotic appliances. This robot vacuum cleaner significantly simplifies household chores and adds free time. The new iLife V80 model will soon be available for sale. This 2019 innovation is designed for dry and wet cleaning. Thanks to the special Tidalpower cleaning system, it cleans especially stubborn dirt more thoroughly and without damaging flooring. Appearance
The designers have worked hard to create a unique and eye-catching design for the device. The robot vacuum cleaner is made of durable plastic that's pleasant to the touch. The design includes two colors: gray and black. The front panel is gray, while the rest is black. The control buttons are located in the center of the front panel. Above the buttons is a small display that shows the robot vacuum's operating mode, runtime, battery level, and other useful information.
Top view
A sliding bumper with rubberized inserts is installed along the front side panel. It protects the iLife V80 itself from damage, as well as all furniture in the room. At the rear, on the same front panel, is a button that opens the container for collecting waste or liquid. The company logo is located above it.
Side view
If you flip the robot vacuum over and examine its underside, you'll see that it's equipped with two side brushes attached to the front of the body. Between them is a roller wheel, which turns the iLife V80 when turning and turning. The central part houses the drive wheels, between which is the battery compartment and the suction port. Thanks to its dual cleaning system—dry and wet—cleaning the apartment is now flawless and efficient. Furthermore, the iLife V80 features an improved suction nozzle and suction power. This is achieved thanks to a powerful Nidec motor, whose floating nozzle is sealed and adheres tightly to the surface being cleaned.
Floor cleaning
A review of the features revealed that the iLife V80 robot vacuum cleaner operates in several modes:
- Operation in automatic mode, in which the robot vacuum cleaner itself determines which route to take to clean the room.
- Area-Specific Cleaning Mode. Allows you to clean only the specified area that requires cleaning.
- Edge mode. Cleans corners and wall edges.
- Maximum mode. The robot vacuums with maximum suction power. This function is suitable for cleaning heavily soiled areas.
- Specific cleaning mode. This mode is suitable for smooth surfaces and provides cleaning with a gradual increase in the area cleaned.
- Scheduled operation. Simplifies work by allowing the user to set a preset work schedule, choosing any convenient time each day.
Remote control
The iLife V80 features a special intelligent water container, i-Dropping. This container evenly distributes liquid and controls the robot's movements. Water flow stops when the robot stops moving, preventing damage to surfaces and preventing puddles from forming underneath the robot.
The iLife V80 comes with a special three-layer HEPA filter, which allows for a high degree of purification.
Advantages and disadvantages
Like any other robot vacuum cleaner, this model has its advantages and disadvantages. The iLife V80 stands out for the following features:
- Original and modern design.
- A large number of operating modes ensures effective cleaning.
- The ability to program the robot to clean at a convenient time every day.
- Large container for collecting garbage and dust.
- Improved suction nozzle.
There are several disadvantages:
- The iLife V80 is unable to move on high or medium pile carpet.
- The kit does not include a movement limiter.
- There is no provision for mapping or control via a smartphone.
A review of the model showed that this robot vacuum cleaner is a completely adequate option for its price (around $200 in 2019). The lack of mapping and modern controls is directly related to the robot's low price, and the problem with carpet access is typical for most devices of this type.
