REDMOND RV-R500

The REDMOND RV-R500 is a wet and dry robot vacuum cleaner with a scheduler. Highly effective floor cleaning is ensured by a brush assembly consisting of two side brushes and one central brush, as well as the included wet mopping attachments. The device is sufficiently automated to minimize human intervention in maintaining your home. The robot can be used on all types of flooring, including parquet, linoleum, laminate, tile, and even low-pile carpet. The REDMOND RV-R500 review below will help you evaluate this model by examining its features and functions.
Equipment
In addition to the robot vacuum cleaner itself, the delivery kit includes the following components:

- Charging base.
- Network adapter.
- Remote control.
- Two attachments for cleaning the floor.
- Two exhaust HEPA filters.
- Operating manual.

Design
The robot vacuum cleaner is designed in the traditional puck shape; viewed from above, it appears round. Its silver finish gives the REDMOND RV-R500 an elegant and stylish appearance, with some elements finished in black. On the front of the robot is a movable panel with a display and three control buttons: start, forced return to the docking station, and cleaning scheduler.
The side of the REDMOND RV-R500 features a protective bumper, an on/off button, and a power adapter port. The dust container also slides out and can be replaced with a wet wipe container if needed.
When viewing the robot vacuum cleaner from the rear, we see two drive wheels, a front swivel roller, two side brushes, a central brush, and a battery compartment. Additionally, ten obstacle sensors are located around the perimeter of the device to help avoid collisions with obstacles.

Functional capabilities
The REDMOND RV-R500 has the following operating modes (started using the remote control or buttons on the body):
- For daily floor cleaning, an automatic mode is used, in which the device independently creates movement patterns based on information received from ten built-in obstacle sensors;
- turbo mode, which is similar to automatic mode, but has increased suction power;
- cleaning mode for a fixed area with the heaviest contamination (local): the device moves along a spiral trajectory - first along an increasing radius, and then along a decreasing one;
- Zigzag – the robot vacuum cleaner moves forward not in a straight line, but moves from side to side; this mode is ideal for use in spacious rooms that are not cluttered with furniture;
- Corner cleaning – the robot moves around the perimeter of the room (along walls, furniture, and other long objects), carefully collecting accumulated debris.
The automatic and turbo modes are recommended for cleaning medium- and heavy-duty surfaces. The spot mode is best for cleaning the hallway and kitchen, while the zigzag mode is best for hallways and living rooms. You can also set the corner cleaning mode if you notice dust accumulating especially along baseboards.
For more effective cleaning, use the wet mop mode. Place a separate water container, attach the nozzle to the bottom, and start the machine.
The REDMOND RV-R500 robot vacuum cleaner has earned a special reputation among customers thanks to its ability to schedule daily cleaning at a convenient time. By setting a specific start time, the smart robot will seamlessly begin its cleaning mission.
Unlike robotic cleaners from other manufacturers, the REDMOND RV-R500 doesn't drag or smear dirt across the surface, as its attachments, pre-moistened before installation, remain moist throughout the entire cleaning cycle. They thoroughly clean dirt from the floor.
Operating instructions
The REDMOND RV-R500 user manual is included with the basic package and is available in three languages: Russian, Kazakh, and Ukrainian. It describes the robotic cleaner's design, its main parameters, an overview of its functionality, and recommendations for its proper operation.

Advantages and disadvantages
In conclusion, it's important to note that the REDMOND RV-R500 falls into the mid-price range, costing no more than $200 (the average is around $180). Considering its price, this robot vacuum cleaner is quite well-built and easily becomes an indispensable household assistant.
Pros:
- Compact dimensions, nice design.
- Sufficient dust collector capacity.
- Wet floor mopping function.
- Programming work by days and times.
- Several modes for effective cleaning.
- Automatic return to docking station.
- Double filtration system.
- Good cross-country ability.
The only obvious downside to this robot vacuum is the lack of a cleaning zone limiter. Other downsides, such as room mapping and smartphone control, aren't critical for this price range. However, many similar products come with mapping and an app, priced under $200.
That concludes our review of the REDMOND RV-R500. We hope this description of the features and functions was helpful and helped you make your purchase decision!
Analogues:

We bought this vacuum cleaner a few days ago. It cleans perfectly, although we don't have carpet in our apartment. It rolls across the laminate and linoleum, but it gets into all sorts of places, including under the kitchen cabinets. So far, there are no complaints about the cleaning performance. But a question has arisen... I can't program it for a specific cleaning time. We set it for 3:00 PM, but it starts at 4:00 AM... and there's a time difference between the remote control and the vacuum cleaner itself. For example, the vacuum cleaner displays the current time, but the remote control displays three hours earlier. I can't find a solution online yet, but I'd be grateful if someone could point me to a website with a description or where I could address this issue. Thanks.
