360 S6

Among the entire range of robot vacuum cleaners, there aren't many models that boast lidar, room mapping, smartphone control, and wet mopping. And yet, these features work well enough to truly make home cleaning easier. The arrival of a new premium robot vacuum cleaner from 360, a company specializing in smartphones, was a surprise. It's safe to say that the 360 S6, reviewed below, will be one of the best robot vacuum cleaners of 2019, as it combines all the most important features at a relatively reasonable price. We've provided the specifications and features of the new product below.
Equipment
The 360 S6 robot vacuum cleaner package includes the following items:
- Charging base.
- Wet cleaning unit.
- Brush for cleaning the dust collector.
- Operating instructions.
- Set of adapters.
The kit does not include a remote control or a movement limiter. Many may consider this a drawback, but it's worth noting that the robot is controlled via phone (so a remote is not needed), and you can also limit cleaning zones using a house/apartment map in the app. Therefore, adding limiters was unnecessary. The manufacturer also thoughtfully included adapters for the charging base's power cable, which support the most popular standards. This is a small but very important gift, as Chinese products often ship without an adapter, which can make it difficult to get started with the new appliance.
What is missing are spare consumables: filters, wet cleaning cloths and side brushes.
Appearance
At first glance, the 360 S6 robot vacuum cleaner immediately gives the impression of being Xiaomi's new flagship. Indeed, the color scheme is identical, the lidar sensor is located in the same place, and the buttons are identical. Overall, the robot is very similar to Xiaomi's traditional design. However, it is a separate product from a separate company.
The main navigation control, the laser rangefinder, is mounted on top of the robot vacuum cleaner. The control buttons (power and return to base) are also located on the front panel. The dust container compartment cover is in the center. Incidentally, the dust container itself is easily removed; the design is very well thought out.
A soft-touch mechanical sensor is located along the entire perimeter of the side panel. This is, incidentally, an unconventional solution—making the bumper wrap around the entire body, so to speak, 360 degrees. Typically, a movable bumper is placed at the front, in a semicircle. Optical and ultrasonic sensors are also installed on the sides.
A look at the bottom of the robot vacuum cleaner reveals that it's equipped with two side brushes and one center brush. Incidentally, the center brush itself is different from the one found on Xiaomi robots. On the 360 S6, it's slightly smaller, which impacts cleaning performance (the robot consequently picks up less debris per pass). Otherwise, the bottom section is standard, housing the drive wheels and swivel roller, as well as the contact pads for charging the base.

Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the new 360 S6 robot vacuum cleaner are summarized in the table:
| Battery | Li-Ion, 3200 mAh |
| Rated power | 30 W |
| Suction power | 1800 Pa |
| Dust collector capacity | 450 ml |
| Battery life | from 90 to 120 minutes |
| Charging time on base | from 120 to 150 min |
| Noise level | up to 65 dB |
| Filter | HEPA H11 |
| Case dimensions | 35*10 cm |
| Weight | 3.5 kg |
After reviewing the specifications, we can say that this robot vacuum cleaner has good suction power and a sufficiently long battery life. The dust container is medium-sized, not too large, but not too small either. The runtime reaches 120 minutes on smooth surfaces, enough to clean over 100 square meters in a single cycle. The noise level is quite high, but this is due to the power.
Important! Suction power has been increased by making the suction port smaller compared to similar products. This means the robot cleans a smaller area per pass, but more effectively.
Functional capabilities
Let's move on to the main part of the review and discuss the capabilities of the 360 S6 robot vacuum cleaner. The first thing I'd like to point out is that it's suitable for both dry and wet cleaning. The floor cleaning cloth is moistened by filling a special unit (150 ml capacity) with water, which then flows by gravity onto the cloth. This means that the mopping process is not automatic, but rather manual.
What you need to pay attention to is the availability of special features, namely:
- The robot vacuum cleaner incorporates Carpet Boost cleaning technology, the same technology used in iRobot devices. Carpet Boost increases suction power when entering carpets (from 1300 to 1500 Pa).
- The robot vacuum's control app is quite smart and functional. It allows you to not only start the robot in automatic or manual mode, but also limit cleaning zones, select a zone for more intensive cleaning, and return it to the charging base. You can also view the cleaning history, set a schedule (weekly programming), and find out which consumables need replacing (service).
- The 360 S6 robot vacuum cleaner can clear obstacles up to 17 mm high. This is a good result, allowing it to navigate small thresholds and medium-pile carpets.
- The timer lets you set a specific time for the robot vacuum to turn on. This is especially convenient if you don't want noise to disturb you during your downtime. You can also select "Do Not Disturb" mode in the app, which prevents the robot vacuum from resuming cleaning or making any beeps after charging.
Overall, the 360 S6 is suitable for pet owners, as its powerful suction and central brush handle pet hair from cats, dogs, and other pets. It also performs well on carpets and smooth floors. It's a versatile robot vacuum cleaner, controlled via phone and capable of mapping the room. All essential functions are present and fully functional.
Pros and cons
In closing, I'd like to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the 360 S6 we identified. The positive aspects are as follows:
- Availability of lidar and room mapping technology.
- Nice appearance.
- Dry and wet cleaning is possible.
- Control via Wi-Fi from a smartphone.
- Power boost function on carpets.
- Capacious battery and correspondingly long operating time.
- High suction power.
- Advanced functionality.
We identified the following shortcomings:
- There are no spare consumables included in the kit.
- The turbo brush design is inferior to premium class analogues.
- High noise level.
Considering that the average price of a 360 S6 in late 2018 and early 2019 was $300 (prices ranged from $25,000 to $32,000), it can certainly be called one of the best and, most importantly, a worthy alternative to its main competitor. We're talking aboutXiaomi Mi Roborock Sweep One, which is priced in the same range. The functionality and specifications of these two models are comparable, the only question is which cleans better. There aren't many tests available online right now, so it's difficult to say at this stage whether the new 360 S6 is inferior to the market leader. Overall, both models do an excellent job and are reasonably priced (not 50,000-70,000 rubles like the Neato). If the 360 S6 were priced slightly lower, as it was at launch (between $210 and $250), it would clearly have attracted more interest. However, since the price is the same, and Xiaomi has already established itself as a trusted name in the market, it will be quite difficult to compete, although they are clearly successful.
Nevertheless, the 360 S6 still found a place in our ranking of the best robot vacuum cleaners of 2019, you can check it out:
