The robot and its components are packaged in a branded cardboard box, inside which everything is distributed into separate sections (recesses).

Appearance

Genio Deluxe 500 is a twin brother iLife A7, which features a unique modular design. All parts can be easily replaced without disassembling the device. Now, replacing the side brush assembly or wheel assembly is even easier.

The robot has a round body and is finished in a pleasing silver color. This model has an elegant, minimalist, stylish, and very modern appearance, easily fitting into even the most discreet interior. The main round control button is located at the top (front) of the device, along with four smaller buttons on either side.

When reviewing the Genio Deluxe 500 from the side, we see a soft-touch protective bumper, an on/off button, and a socket for connecting the power adapter and recharging from the mains. A dust bin also slides out from the side for emptying, which can be replaced with a water tank if desired. It's worth noting that the robot is only 75 mm tall. And that's with a full-size dust bin. Not every robot vacuum cleaner with a 600 ml dust bin can boast such a height.

The back of the robot vacuum cleaner reveals a fairly familiar sight: two side wheels, one front wheel for turning, two side brushes, one main turbo brush in the center, a battery, contacts for recharging on the docking station, and areas for attaching a microfiber cloth.

In addition, the Genio Deluxe 500 has multiple obstacle sensors around its perimeter to prevent collisions with surrounding objects, as well as sensors to prevent falls from elevated surfaces.

Functional capabilities

The Genio Deluxe 500 robot vacuum cleaner is capable of cleaning in 6 different modes, which we review below:

  • auto;
  • spot cleaning;
  • route building mode;
  • along the walls and in the corners;
  • wet cleaning;
  • floor polisher mode.

When the route planning function is enabled, the robot vacuum cleaner uses a gyroscope to navigate, visually divides the available area into smaller sections, and then begins cleaning.

In addition, the Genio Deluxe 500 robot has the ability to set a schedule for a week in advance, which saves time on manual daily start-up and setting a timer for each day.

The robot vacuum cleaner cleans using two side brushes and a main turbo brush for different floor types. Collected debris is directed into a dust collector with a dual filtration system: the first filter effectively cleans, while the second (anti-allergy) freshens the air.

To run the robot in floor polishing or wet cleaning mode, you need to install a separate tank, pre-filled with water, and attach a cloth to the bottom.

Interesting!In wet cleaning mode, the robot can operate for over 4 hours without recharging. This is a rather interesting feature, as it consumes less power when mopping.

The robot's functionality and capabilities are controlled by a powerful processor, which analyzes and adjusts its behavior every second. The Deluxe 500's low-power brushless motor allows for variable suction power (standard or maximum mode).

What's also noteworthy is that the device can be controlled via the Genio Robot mobile app via Wi-Fi. However, the manufacturer didn't remove the remote control from the package. You can limit the cleaning area using virtual wall.

Operating instructions

Before using your robot vacuum cleaner for the first time, we recommend reading the manufacturer's instructions. The instructions contain a wealth of useful information, from operating instructions to troubleshooting common problems.

Advantages and disadvantages

An overview of the main advantages of the Genio Deluxe 500:

  1. Well-designed modern appearance.
  2. Compact dimensions.
  3. Excellent equipment.
  4. Good suction power and its regulation.
  5. Various modes + wet floor mopping.
  6. Programming work schedules.
  7. Advanced gyroscope-based navigation system.
  8. Double air filtration.
  9. New brushless motor.
  10. Control from a smartphone.
  11. Average noise level.

It's fair to say that this robot has addressed most of the shortcomings of its predecessors. The price of the robot vacuum cleaner has increased accordingly, to around $190, but it's still a worthwhile purchase.

We found no particular drawbacks to this robotic vacuum cleaner. Even compared to its iLife A7 sibling, this model features a gyroscope, a wet mopping function, and a virtual wall. It also costs $20 less.

That concludes our review of the Genio Deluxe 500. We hope you found this description of its features, functions, and positive aspects helpful!

    I wouldn't say it completely frees me from cleaning, but it does make my life easier. I clean less often and for less time than before. It cleans both linoleum and carpets well. It doesn't get stuck. I can't find any downsides to this gadget at all.

    I have been using the robot vacuum cleaner for 1 week.
    I'll list the advantages we saw. The battery is enough to clean our entire apartment—it's 60 square meters. I set the days of the week and cleaning times through the app, and when we come home, it's already charging in the base, so all I have to do is empty the container. We have a large dog and a lot of hair on the floor, so the container lasts the entire cleaning, which is why we considered a larger dustbin. The virtual wall turned out to be very convenient; I recommend not ignoring this feature. We used it to carve out a small area in the apartment where our dog lies and watches the process. By the way, the dustbin is on the side. I was told this is an outdated design because there's a risk of spilling debris when you pull it out, but in my case, nothing spills because the small partition prevents this. It's convenient. Both brushes are easily removed, and it's also easy to clean them of hair. It's a shame that in my case, I have to take them out and clean them so often. It's silent when running, which is great for us, but if there's an error, it beeps (the only error we've had was when we picked it up like a turtle and carried it into another room while it was running, and it beeped twice to indicate I wasn't on the floor). It's three times quieter than our big vacuum cleaner, so the noise isn't annoying, but we do have to turn up the volume when watching a movie.
    Cons. I read in reviews that the 370 model doesn't recognize dark furniture and constantly bumps into it. Unfortunately, this model is also guilty of this. It's very sad, but you have to put up with it. The furniture doesn't get damaged, and I hope the robot doesn't suffer from it either. The app isn't very user-friendly. It's very simple, and only allows you to set a cleaning schedule (time and days of the week), accessory status, cleaning mode, and robot search. You can also start it from your phone, send it to the base, enable spot cleaning, and use arrow keys to control it. It's not user-friendly. Perhaps the app will be improved, but for now it's more of a bonus than a benefit. If the robot gets tangled in wires or curtains, you won't notice it through the app. We haven't found any other downsides yet.
    In the morning, before leaving for work, we always put all the chairs on the table and remove any items that might get in his way, like the dog bowl and stand. We have no issues with wires on the floor; they're all tucked away in the baseboards. We also don't have any carpets, just a blanket in the hallway, but we block access to it with a virtual wall. But most importantly, we put away the children's toys—or rather, my daughter does this. Now our floors are clean every day, and it's great. I didn't mention wet cleaning; we don't use it now, but maybe we will in the future, so I can't say anything.
    I hope my comment helped someone choose a robot vacuum cleaner. We're happy with it; it's cleaner now!

    Plus 1000 to Sergey's review))) Similar impressions. I didn't even download the app. Personally, I don't see the point in it. Everything else matches the manufacturer's claims. It plots a route around the apartment. No complaints about dry cleaning. We also use it regularly. It's convenient that the wipe's dampness can be adjusted—perfect for families with children!

    • Oleg

      I like the app. It's convenient. You can just scroll through your feed on your phone and control the vacuum cleaner at the same time. Otherwise, yes, I agree, the robot is cool. It works well!

      • Victoria

        Can you tell me how to connect to the app? We can't do it at all. Everything is written, but something is wrong. ((There's nothing written in the WiFi line and we can't select it.)

  • Vadim

    A good review, everything is written accurately. The only thing this vacuum cleaner doesn't do is empty the dust bin and fill the water container. Otherwise, it's packed with features. The gyroscope isn't just for show. It moves around the house according to a specific pattern, resulting in clean floors everywhere. The only drawback I'd note is the noise while cleaning. It's not loud, but it's there, so I turn it on when I leave the house.

    Hello! Could you please help me decide between the one described in the article (the Genio Deluxe 500) and the Ecovacs Ozmo 900 or the iBoto Smart C820W Aqua?
