Xiaomi Trouver LDS Finder: A Dreame D9 Lookalike at a Better Price

Hello everyone! This review will examine the popular 2021 Xiaomi TROUVER Robot LDS Vacuum-Mop Finder robot vacuum cleaner. Its main appeal stems from its budget price, which is comparable to a lidar-based robot vacuum cleaner with a wet mopping function and all the basic features available in the app. The price of this robot is in the $180-$220 range, and during AliExpress sales, it can cost as low as $150-$160. The first question that arises is: why overpay when you can get the same thing for almost half the price? Below, I'll take a detailed look at and test the TROUVER LDS Finder, after which I'll express my opinion on whether this robot vacuum cleaner is worth buying or whether it's better to pay a little more and choose a more reliable option for the same price. So, let's get started!
Equipment
The robot vacuum cleaner arrived in a compact branded box like this:
The package includes:
- Charging base.
- Power adapter.
- Wet cleaning nozzle with a microfiber cloth installed.
- User manual translated into several languages, including Russian.
This is the entire delivery set, and as always, it is minimal.
Appearance
Now let's take a look at the Xiaomi TROUVER LDS Finder's appearance. I'd like to point out right away that its design is practically identical. Dreame D9The only visual difference is that the Truver lacks the wall sensor on the bumper and the gray stripe on the top cover. At least they retained the obstacle detection sensor in the front.
A lidar sensor is used for navigation and mapping. The lidar cover is spring-loaded, preventing the robot vacuum from getting stuck under furniture. The control panel has two mechanical buttons: start/pause and a forced return to the charging base. The dust container is located under the top cover, conveniently storing the cleaning tool nearby. The container holds up to 570 ml of dry waste. The filtration system is HEPA-only; there is no mesh filter.
The robot has 4 anti-fall sensors installed at the bottom, which is another difference from the Dreame D9, which has 6. There is one side brush, a three-beam brush, which is quick-release.
The central brush has bristles and petals, and can be easily disassembled on both sides to remove tangled hair and fur.
The wet cleaning attachment holds up to 270 ml of water. It features a pump for electronically adjusting the cloth's wetting level. The cloth is secured with a groove and Velcro. It's fluffy all over, with no bare spots.
Overall, the Xiaomi TROUVER LDS Finder's build quality is slightly inferior to the Dreame D9, but is well within its price range. There are no particular complaints about this robot vacuum cleaner.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the Xiaomi TROUVER LDS Finder, as stated by the manufacturer:
- Li-Ion battery 2600 mAh.
- Suction power 2000 Pa.
- Cleaning area up to 100 sq.m.
- Battery life up to 100 min.
- Dust collector 570 ml.
- Water tank 270 ml.
- Obstacle clearance 2 cm.
- Dimensions 350*94.5 mm.
Here again, compared to the Dreame D9, the TROUVER has a weak battery, 1000 Pa less suction power (as the Dreame claims 3000 Pa), and, consequently, a runtime of less than 100 minutes. Again, this is due to the weak battery. The manufacturers really cut corners here; for a lidar robot, such a battery is simply pathetic. They should have at least used a 3200 mAh one. Well, these shortcuts helped keep the cost of the robot vacuum cleaner down.
Functional capabilities
Now let's look at the features of the Xiaomi TROUVER LDS Finder. The robot vacuum cleaner is controlled via the Mi Home app. It connects to the Russian region, which is a plus.
The main control panel displays a map of the room, which the robotic vacuum automatically divides into rooms. Below the map, you can select one of three operating modes: room, automatic cleaning of the entire available area, and selection of a cleaning zone on the map. You can also set the number of passes the robotic vacuum makes: one or two.
In map management mode, you can manually edit room boundaries and rename each room. You can also set virtual walls and no-go zones on the map, including separate no-go zones for wet cleaning mode.
In the main settings, you can adjust the volume of voice alerts and select their language. Xiaomi TROUVER LDS Finder supports 9 languages, including Russian.
Further in the settings, you can turn on and off sending notifications to your smartphone, enable automatic power boost when driving on carpets, activate the function to continue cleaning after recharging at the base, set the time when the robot vacuum cleaner should not disturb you, and set a reminder to rinse the cloth when the robot is wet cleaning.
In addition, the suction power and cloth wetting level can be adjusted. When setting up a scheduled cleaning, you can select the desired rooms to clean, the time, days of the week, and parameters such as power and water flow level.
Additionally, in the settings, you can view the cleaning log, track the status of consumables, enable the robot vacuum cleaner's search by sound signal, change the robot's name, share control with other users, and, if necessary, manually update the firmware to a more recent version.
Basically, all the basic functionality is included. It's worth noting that the Xiaomi TROUVER LDS Finder can only store one map in its memory, so it might not be the best option for owners of two-story houses. And surprisingly, there's no manual control. However, the device does support control via Yandex.Alice, which is a plus.
Testing
A detailed video review of the Xiaomi TROUVER LDS Finder has already been prepared and published on the channel. I recommend watching the video:
Navigation
And finally, let's move on. First, let's test the Xiaomi TROUVER LDS Finder's navigation in a room with obstacles. After leaving the base, the robot vacuum cleaner begins its perimeter sweep. The legs of the dryer proved to be a trap, but the robot was able to navigate around them independently and continue cleaning. After sweeping the perimeter, the TROUVER LDS Finder begins cleaning the entire accessible area in a serpentine pattern. It was able to clean around all the legs of the chair and the box separately, before returning to the base. Test successful!
There are no complaints about navigation within the house either. The robot vacuum cleans room by room in a serpentine pattern, and then along the perimeter. There are no uncleaned areas, and the cleaning speed is high. So, this model has good navigation.
Suction power
In terms of suction power, this robot vacuum cleaner only managed to suck up debris from a 2 mm deep gap. This is a fairly standard suction power and is sufficient for household use. However, it's worth noting that the Dreame D9 proved more powerful in real-world conditions. It was able to suck up debris from a 4 mm gap, so the 1000 Pa difference is noticeable in real-world conditions.
Dry cleaning of laminate flooring
The quality of debris collection on laminate floors was above average. The robot completely collected debris on the rack, leaving only a small amount in the corners due to its round shape. A small amount of hair was caught on the side brush and a very small amount on the center brush. The bulk of the debris was collected in the dust bin. Test passed!
Cleaning the carpet
The same debris was scattered on the carpet, and the TROUVER LDS Finder cleaned it without any problems. The cleaning performance on carpets is also above average.
Wet cleaning
However, the dirt removal performance was disappointing. This robot vacuum failed to remove slightly dried dirt from the laminate flooring, although its peers, including the Dreamy, were up to the task. The Truver failed this test.
Overall, the wet cleaning performance is average. Even at the highest setting, the cloth doesn't get wet enough. While mopping is adequate for everyday use, it's not much more than just picking up dust. At least a robot vacuum can vacuum and mop simultaneously.
Obstacle clearance
The TROUVER LDS Finder has good cross-country ability; it can easily cross a two-centimeter threshold.
Driving on dark surfaces
However, the robot vacuum cleaner is sensitive to black surfaces, like most other Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaners. This is important to keep in mind.
Noise level
Finally, we measured the noise level of the TROUVER LDS Finder in different modes. In silent mode, the noise level is between 58-60 dB. In medium mode, it reaches 65 dB, in intensive cleaning mode, the noise level does not exceed 66 dB, and at maximum power, the peak noise level was 67 dB. This robot vacuum cleaner has a standard noise level.
Let's sum it up
The Xiaomi TROUVER Robot LDS Vacuum-Mop Finder has been thoroughly reviewed and tested. our evaluation system he managed to gain 65 out of 100 pointsThe result is quite decent for this price segment. However, the Dreame D9's twin managed to score 71 points thanks to its increased power, longer battery life, and other improvements discussed in the review.
Overall rating of robot vacuum cleaners tested on robovac.washerhouse.com: https://robovac.washerhouse.com/en/rejtingi/robovac-obshhij-rejting-robotov-pylesosov-robo.html.
I'll express my personal opinion about this model. I liked the following:
- Good navigation.
- Simultaneous dry and wet cleaning.
- Good quality dry cleaning.
- All the main functionality is in the application.
- Good cross-country ability.
- Full Russification of both the application and the voice package.
- Optimal price considering the capabilities and navigation.
As for the disadvantages, the main ones are:
- Weak battery.
- Afraid of dark surfaces.
- Not able to clean dirt from the floor.
- Stores only 1 map in memory.
- Poor equipment.
Ultimately, I would definitely recommend this robot vacuum for cleaning areas no larger than 80 square meters, and preferably no larger than 60, given the small battery capacity. And of course, for $150-$170, it's one of the best robot vacuums out there; it can even compete with Dreame F9, who won A comparison of Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaners priced under $200 But if the price is $200 or higher, I would recommend looking at similar devices that may be more powerful, more functional, and better built.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!

Hello! I bought this robot vacuum. I brought it home, plugged it in, drove it for 10 minutes, and then came back to charge. The red lights started blinking and that was it. It still hasn't charged. What could be wrong? I've seen such great reviews everywhere. The problem is the navigation, it's slow. But I haven't found any reviews saying the new robot isn't charging. How can this be?
No one ruled out marriage.
