Dreame R10 Pro: Optimal price, full set of attachments, updated design

The new upright vacuum cleaner, the Dreame R10 Pro, is a simplified version of the top-of-the-line upright vacuum cleaner. Dreame R20By slightly modifying some components and the package, we were able to reduce the price by approximately 20%. At the time of writing, the Dreame R10 Pro costs approximately $260, or $280 at the current exchange rate. For this price, you get a cordless vacuum cleaner with two floor nozzles (with different roller structures), an additional set of attachments for spot cleaning, a lighting system for the cleaning area, a high-quality filtration system, and a decently powerful motor. Below, I'll thoroughly test the new product, compare some of its features with the older R20 model, and then express my opinion on whether it's worth buying. So, let's get started!
Equipment
The package includes:
- Extension tube.
- Floor nozzle with roller for cleaning carpets.
- Floor nozzle with roller for hard floors.
- Power adapter.
- Wall holder with double-sided tape and fasteners.
- Nozzle with turbo brush for cleaning upholstered furniture.
- Crevice nozzle.
- Attachment with sliding bristles.
- Documentation with translation into Russian.
The package is good. They've simplified the wall mount, but most importantly, they've kept the main cleaning attachments.
Appearance
Let's take a look at the Dreame R10 Pro upright vacuum cleaner. Let's start with the main unit. The color scheme has been updated. Instead of the usual graphite color, we see a combination of black and gold. It looks very stylish! The matte finish makes it stain-resistant.
The vacuum cleaner is turned on and off by pressing the trigger button. A display has been removed. A lock button is located on the end of the vacuum cleaner, along with a mechanical mode selector. There are only three power levels. There is no automatic power increase for detecting dirt or carpets. The battery has charge level indicators. The battery itself is removable, which is a plus.
The dust container is also removable. The main unit contains a pre-motor HEPA filter and a sponge filter in the exhaust vents. The dust container can be emptied in two ways: either by pressing a button on the housing that opens the bottom, or by shaking it out after removing the filtration system, which consists of a fabric filter, a cyclone, and a mesh. This makes for a five-stage air filtration system.
Let's move on to an overview of the included attachments. The main attachment is virtually identical to the one included with the Dreame R20. It features a front light, and a switch that raises the roller shutter to collect larger debris. The roller itself is equipped with short, stiff bristles that are better for cleaning carpets. The roller lock is easily removed by hand, and a comb is located behind the roller for detangling hair and pet hair. The attachment itself differs only in the color of the backlight. The Dreame R20's is blue, while the R10 Pro's is plain white.
The second attachment features a roller with soft, fluffy bristles, which is better suited for cleaning hard floors. There's no lighting, and a comb for detangling hair and pet hair is located behind the roller.
The upholstery cleaning tool features a turbo brush with silicone paddles. The latch can be removed with a flat-head screwdriver or coin. The crevice tool is a new design, similar to the Dreame R20: it features a retractable flexible section, allowing you to reach tight, narrow spaces to collect debris. The retractable bristle tool is also standard, as found on previous models.
Here's what the Dreame R10 Pro looks like when assembled:
The build quality is high, and there are no major issues with the assembly. The only drawback is that it doesn't have vertical parking outside the holder, as with other upright vacuums in the Dreame line.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the Dreame R10 Pro, as stated by the manufacturer:
- Power consumption 425 W.
- Suction power up to 150 aW.
- Li-Ion battery 3000 mAh.
- Dust collector 600 ml.
- Operating time up to 65 min.
- Noise level 72.5-78.5 dB.
- Weight when fully assembled: 2.64-2.75 kg.
We see that the motor power and suction are lower than those of older models, which is again due to the lower price. I'll definitely test how powerful this upright vacuum really is in my tests. I measured the noise level myself with a sound level meter. It's in the range of 72.5-78.5 dB, which is quite acceptable for cordless vacuum cleaners.
Regarding weight, the main unit weighs 1,692 grams, the extension tube weighs 285 grams, and the main carpet nozzle with roller weighs 775 grams. The hard floor nozzle with roller weighs 661 grams. The total weight of the fully assembled vacuum cleaner is 2,638-2,752 grams. This is a fairly standard weight for an upright vacuum cleaner. The center of gravity is strategically positioned low, preventing hand fatigue during use.
Testing
A detailed video review of the Dreame R10 Pro, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel. I recommend watching the video:
Opening hours
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, let's check the Dreame R10 Pro's battery life in Turbo mode with the main attachment attached. It managed 10 minutes and 24 seconds of runtime, which is almost 3 minutes shorter than the R20, but still on par with most similar devices.
Suction power
In terms of suction power, the Dreame R10 Pro was able to vacuum debris from crevices as deep as 4 and 6 mm at its minimum setting. And in Medium and Turbo modes, it easily vacuums debris from as small as 10 mm. So, this model offers increased suction power and is more than sufficient for everyday use.
Collecting debris on laminate flooring
Now let's test how well the Dreame R10 Pro picks up floor debris. I scattered various types of debris on the laminate flooring: hair, fur, grains, and other small household debris. This device performed well. It's important to note that it has no trouble picking up debris along baseboards and in corners. It picks everything up thoroughly. The soft-bristled roller barely picks up any hair or lint. All debris is collected in the dust bin.
Carpet cleaning
The same debris was scattered on the carpet, and the Dreame R10 Pro did an equally good job, thoroughly cleaning the carpet. The carpet roller is clean, with no hair or fur tangled in it.
Using additional attachments
It's also worth noting that the complete kit allows you to clean a sofa, areas beyond the reach of the main nozzle, and even car interiors. Overall, this vacuum cleaner is suitable for a variety of applications.
Cleaning the dust collector
Finally, I'll tell you how to clean the dust bin. Press the button, and all the debris falls out through the bottom. Hair and fur can get stuck in the bin. In this case, you can completely remove the dust bin, remove the filtration system, and empty the bin completely. Very convenient.
Personal opinion
The Dreame R10 Pro upright vacuum cleaner was thoroughly reviewed and tested. Like all Dreame products, it left a largely positive impression. Based on my experience with it and testing it, I can highlight the following pros and cons.
I liked the following:
- High-quality waste collection on any surface.
- Increased suction power.
- Illumination of the cleaning area.
- Removable battery.
- Good filtration system.
- A complete set of attachments, including two rollers with different structures for different floor coverings.
- Stylish design.
- Ergonomic design.
- Very high quality assembly.
- Optimal price.
- Availability of warranty and service.
Speaking of drawbacks, the only more or less significant one is the reduced battery life. Other than that, there are three minor gripes: there's no vertical parking feature outside the wall mount, no wireless charging on the wall mount, and no on-board display. But these are more nitpicks than actual drawbacks.
Overall, considering the Dreame R10 Pro is 20% cheaper than the flagship R20 model, yet offers virtually identical cleaning performance and ease of use, I think it's definitely worth considering. Especially once the exchange rate stabilizes and the price drops below $250 during sales, as it did during the June sale. For a mid-price range, this cordless vacuum is well-built and boasts high efficiency and versatility.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
