Midea M7 Pro: A robot vacuum cleaner with a powerful motor, lidar, and a vibrating mop

Hello everyone! We've received another interesting new product for review – the Midea M7 Pro robot vacuum cleaner. Priced between $260 and $290, this robot boasts lidar for navigation, a powerful motor capable of up to 4000 Pa of suction power, according to the manufacturer, and a special vibrating mop that allows it to more thoroughly remove tough stains from floors. The result is a powerful robot vacuum and floor polishing duo. It's quite an interesting solution that could offer serious competition in the market if its effectiveness is confirmed in real-world conditions. Below, we'll take a closer look and test the Midea M7 Pro, after which we'll share our opinion on whether this robot vacuum is worth buying. So, let's get started!
Equipment
The robot vacuum cleaner is packaged in a branded box like this:
In addition to the robot itself, it contains:
- Charging base.
- Cord for connecting the base to the network.
- Wet cleaning nozzle with a microfiber cloth installed.
- Module with a vibrating mop.
- Robot connection guide and operating instructions (all documentation in English).
- Spare HEPA filter.
The kit is practically barebones. The only spare part included is a filter; there are no spare wipers or side brushes.
Appearance
Now let's look at the robot vacuum cleaner itself. The Midea M7 Pro is black. The lidar is highlighted with a gold frame, which makes the robot look more stylish.
Wall detection sensors are mounted on both sides of the mechanical bumper. A system of sensors is installed in the center to detect obstacles in the robot's path. An additional pair of sensors is mounted on both sides of the robot, closer to the rear, near the ventilation holes. In total, the robot has approximately 30 sensors onboard, helping it navigate its surroundings.
On the top of the body are two mechanical control buttons: a forced return to the charging base and a start/pause button. Incidentally, the lidar itself is equipped with a mechanical button to prevent the robot from getting stuck under furniture.
The dust collector is located under the top cover. Next to it is a Wi-Fi reset button.
The container holds up to 450 ml of dry waste. A brush for cleaning the dust bin and central brush is conveniently stored on the top lid. The filtration system uses a HEPA filter, foam filter, and mesh filter. This is a plus.
The water tank is mounted at the rear. It holds approximately 220-250 ml, though information varies widely. A pump is installed inside to electronically regulate the water flow.
Let's take a look at the robot's underside. It's equipped with four fall protection sensors. It has two side brushes, both quick-release, three-pronged, and with bristle brushes.
The central brush is made with inserts of different bristle textures: soft and hard. The caps on both sides are removable for cleaning the brush of tangled hair and fur, which is a plus.
Water flows through four holes on the bottom of the robot to the cleaning pad. The pad is secured with a pocket and Velcro. The fabric itself is not very thick. Attaching the pad to the robot requires turning it upside down, which can be somewhat inconvenient.
Instead of a standard water tank with a fixed nozzle, you can install a special module with a vibrating mop. It also holds approximately 220-250 ml of water. It houses an electric motor, which moves the mop, and a pump for electronically regulating the water flow.
The cloth is divided into two sections, connected by elastic bands, and attached to the platform with Velcro. The cloth moves in opposite directions, mimicking the motion of a person's hands when scrubbing away dirt. We will definitely test the effectiveness of this system during testing.
Overall, the robot's build quality is average, as is its price range.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the Midea M7 Pro, as declared by the manufacturer:
- Li-Ion battery 5200 mAh.
- Suction power up to 4000 Pa.
- Operating time up to 180 min.
- Cleaning area up to 250 sq.m.
- Dust collector capacity is 550 ml.
- Water tank capacity is 220 ml.
- Obstacle clearance up to 20 mm.
- Dimensions: 350*96 mm.
The most interesting feature here is the increased suction power, which we will definitely test in real conditions.
Functional capabilities
Let's move on to an overview of the Midea M7 Pro's features. The robot vacuum cleaner is controlled via the proprietary MSmartLife mobile app, which can be downloaded by scanning the QR code in the manual. Registering and connecting the robot to the network shouldn't be a problem; follow the manufacturer's instructions.
The robot creates a map of the room and saves it in its memory using the app on the main control panel. In the settings, you can enable map saving mode, activate automatic power boost when entering carpets, manually control the robot, and configure the motion mode when the vibrating mop is attached. The difference is that during effective cleaning, the robot moves in a tighter, serpentine pattern.
You can also set up a cleaning schedule by selecting the time, days of the week, suction power, water flow rate, and even the rooms you want to clean. You can also adjust the volume and language of voice notifications. Incidentally, the Midea M7 Pro speaks Russian, which is a plus.
Additionally, you can set a time when the robot will not disturb you, view the cleaning log, track the status of consumables, update the firmware if necessary, and study the help section. However, all information is in English, as is the paper manual.
Let's return to the main control panel. Here you can adjust the suction power and water flow level, set virtual walls and no-go zones, and even create separate no-go zones for wet cleaning mode. You can also select a point on the map where the robot should move for spot cleaning, set cleaning zones using rectangles on the map, and even select specific rooms to clean, as well as the number of passes the robot will make (from 1 to 3).
There's a caveat, though: although the Midea M7 Pro automatically zones rooms, you can't manually edit the map by combining multiple rooms into one or, conversely, dividing a room into zones. As a result, in my case, the robot divided the map not into five rooms, as it actually appears, but into three, combining several rooms into one. And there's no way to correct the situation manually, which is inconvenient. At least you can name the rooms. It's also worth noting that the Midea M7 Pro can store multiple maps in its memory, which is especially useful when cleaning multi-story buildings.
These are all the robot's functions. Basically, it has the basic capabilities for automatically maintaining cleanliness in the home and flexible cleaning schedule customization.
Testing
A detailed video review of the Midea M7 Pro, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on our channel. We recommend watching:
Navigation
Finally, let's move on to the tests. First, we'll test the Midea M7 Pro's navigation in a room with obstacles. Initially, the robot navigated the entire accessible area along the perimeter. The dryer gave it some trouble, but it was able to escape the trap on its own and continue cleaning. When cleaning in a serpentine pattern, the robot was able to clean around each chair leg and box individually before returning to its base. The test was successful.
Regarding housewide navigation, even though the robot vacuum had zoned the room into rooms, it still divided the room into convenient zones on subsequent runs, cleaning them in order, first along the perimeter and then in a zigzag pattern. As a result, it divided a house with five rooms into six zones, and even within one small room, it still divided it into two parts. This affects cleaning speed. In our case, the robot cleaned a useful area of approximately 32 square meters in 37 minutes, while most similar robots with lidar complete the task in 25-30 minutes, cleaning entire rooms. Therefore, it's safe to say that the navigation algorithm isn't the most sophisticated and requires further refinement.
But in any case, there were no uncleaned areas left, and the robot completed the task, so this test was also successful. I'd just like to add a few observations that were made during testing of the Midea M7 Pro within the home:
- The robot sometimes automatically increases power even when passing over laminate floors. The carpet detection feature is a bit rough.
- When cleaning around the perimeter, the robot moves over the base. If a damp cloth is placed on it, moisture will get onto the contact pads, which can lead to oxidation and the base failing. This isn't ideal.
- During the test, the maximum suction power was selected, and almost half of the battery was used up in 37 minutes. At maximum power, the robot will last approximately 80 minutes of operation, which is actually quite good.
Suction power
Now let's test the Midea M7 Pro's suction power. It thoroughly cleaned debris from crevices 2 and 4 mm deep, and even managed to partially remove debris from a 10 mm deep crevice.
Of course, this robot can be called powerful and if it had come for review a little earlier, it would have definitely entered our Rating of the most powerful robot vacuum cleaners, which we were able to test.
Dry cleaning of laminate flooring
The dry cleaning performance is excellent; the robot removed all debris from the laminate, leaving only a small amount in the corners where round robotic vacuum cleaners are unable to sweep up debris.
At least, most of the models we reviewed did. The bulk of the debris was collected in the dust bin. Pet hair and fur were tangled around the central brush. The test was passed successfully.
Cleaning the carpet
Thanks to its powerful suction and well-designed brushes, the robot effectively picks up debris from carpet, delivering a deep clean. The Midea M7 Pro offers no complaints in this regard either.
Wet cleaning
However, wet cleaning has its own challenges. With a standard water tank and microfiber cloth installed, the robot doesn't remove dirt very effectively, smearing it across the floor. This option isn't particularly effective for everyday wet cleaning either—the cloth doesn't wet the floor evenly, leaving dry streaks after each pass.
But with the vibrating mop module installed, the robot really does a good job of removing not only dirt but also dried-in stains, almost as good as robotic floor cleaners. In our case, it was a sauce and a coffee spill, which we left for 24 hours to dry. Therefore, with this module, the robot copes well with its tasks.
Obstacle clearance
The robot moves over 2 cm high thresholds without any problems, as stated by the manufacturer.
Driving on dark surfaces
Driving over dark surfaces is also no problem. The robot doesn't recognize them as elevation changes, which is a plus.
Noise level
Finally, we measured the Midea M7 Pro's noise level in different modes. In wet cleaning mode with the standard tank at minimum power, the noise level is around 59 dB. In standard mode, it reaches 63 dB, and at maximum power, it's 66 dB. With the vibrating mop attached, the noise level is around 64-65 dB. This robot vacuum isn't overly noisy, considering its high suction power, and that's a good thing!
Let's sum it up
Midea M7 Pro has been thoroughly reviewed and tested. our evaluation system he was able to dial 73 out of 100 pointsThe result is high, so the robot can be recommended for purchase.
Now I'd like to share my personal opinion of this model, which I formed after thoroughly familiarizing myself with it and testing it. I liked the following:
- There is lidar and most advanced features in the application.
- The robot is equipped with a powerful engine.
- High quality of dirt removal when a vibrating mop module is installed.
- The quality of dry cleaning is above average.
- Midea M7 Pro can vacuum and wash floors at the same time.
- The device is not afraid of dark floor coverings.
- Good obstacle clearance.
- Optimal price, considering the design and functionality.
But this robot vacuum cleaner also has its drawbacks, the main ones being:
- You cannot edit room boundaries when working with the map.
- The robot drives onto the base while cleaning.
- The automatic power boost function on carpets sometimes takes on a life of its own, turning on on hard surfaces.
- Wet cleaning with a standard water tank installed is less effective than with similar products.
Ultimately, each robot has its strengths and weaknesses, so it's up to you to decide whether to choose this model or not. In any case, the Midea M7 Pro deserves attention thanks to its lidar, powerful suction, and vibrating mop module. It's a rather interesting combination of design solutions, and most importantly, they're effective and up to the task.
I'd like to end this review on that note. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone!

I have the regular version and there is a room connection/split feature. It's strange that it doesn't work in the pro version.
They've already added the room merge/separate feature. But I have another problem: the vacuum cleaner would run around the perimeter a bunch of times (56 minutes) and then return to the charging station, saying "cleaning complete!" It couldn't find the station. When the battery was almost full, I sent it to the selected area (room), and it ran around the perimeter again, then went into another room on the next pass! It still wouldn't start cleaning the middle! When I pressed the forced return to base button, it panicked and couldn't figure out where to go, even though I'd already saved and edited the map. Is this a problem with the physical navigation, or maybe the Wi-Fi and maps? Are the maps stored in the app or on the robot as well?
Hello! Thanks, I'll check. Are you launching the robot from the base every time? Try resetting the map so it rebuilds it and saves it in memory.
How do I reset the card? It also won't connect via Bluetooth. What can I do?
Please tell me the difference between the M7 and the M7 Pro. There's no information anywhere, not even on the MIDEA website.
Apparently, the only difference is the presence of a module with a vibrating mop, and that's all)
Hello! Could you please tell me which robot is better to buy: this one or the Xiaomi Dreame S9?
I'm choosing between them.
Hello! There is no Xiaomi Dreame S9. There is the Dreame F9 and D9, or the Viomi S9. Could you please clarify which robot you're talking about?
Help me decide between Midea M7 Pro, Dreame D9, Yeedi 2 Hybrid?
They all cost around $200
Or is there another model?
Thank you
In principle, they are all good, buy the one you like best in terms of design and functions) I would choose between yeedi and dreame.
I wonder why these specific models? I looked at both the Yeedi and Dreame models and couldn't see how they were any better than the Midea 7 Pro. Not a single advantage. In fact, the Midea has many more. I ordered the Midea 7 Pro from OZON for 18,000 rubles.
It came from Ali for 13,000 rubles. It's the regular m7 version. It doesn't dispense any water at all. I set different flow rates in the app, but it doesn't care. I'll probably be returning it.
I had the same problem. M7Pro version. The seller advised me to clean the valve on the water tank with a toothpick. I poked around, pressed, blew (pressed my lips tightly into the water inlet and blew, creating excess pressure), and the water started flowing. The vibrating mop is truly a great tool.
Dreame L10 Pro or Midea M7?
Dreame L10 Pro
Why Dreame?
It has a number of significant drawbacks, such as incorrect operation on long-pile carpets, sensitivity to dark surfaces, weak water supply, does not recognize all objects, poor equipment, and a high price compared to the Midea model.
And, if we return to your rating, the identical model from Midea - S8+ with a waste collection station, is rated significantly higher than the Dreame L10 Pro.
Hello, thank you for your ratings! Could you please tell me which one is better, the Dreame D9 or the Midea M7 Pro, or perhaps another model under 24,000 rubles that's reliable and long-lasting? Our apartment is 64 square meters, with laminate flooring and carpet. There are no cracks in the apartment. We mainly only need to clean the laminate and tiles. We'll only use it when we're away, and we'll rarely use wet cleaning. We have two cats.
Good afternoon! Yes, the Midea is a good option for your needs. The Dreame D9 is simply a similar option; its cleaning performance is on par. So, just choose the one you like best. Another option is the Viomi SE, which is also a good value for money, and I think the build quality is slightly better than the Midea and Dreame.
These are currently going for 20,000 on AliExpress. The regular version is only 16,000. That's what I got, considering I don't really need wet cleaning. For the price, I think they're unbeatable.
For that kind of money, I think so.
The L10 Pro for 22,500 or the M7 Pro for 16,000? I'm faced with a terrible choice...
I would choose L10 Pro!
Well, I chose that too... And can you imagine, it broke on the very first day! After the first cleaning, I went back to the base because I sat down, stood on the base, and in the evening, when we arrived, we pressed the cleaning button, and... after leaving the base, the light went out. We put it back, it turns on, and the battery says 100%. Then it goes out, and then it goes out. Interestingly, a couple of times it showed a low battery in the app, reaching 100% in 5 seconds, and... Then it goes out again and goes out (battery 0%). And that's it. What should we do with it now? It's from AliExpress...
The vacuum cleaner's instructions state: "Before using it for the first time, charge it for 12-13 hours," regardless of the charge level.
Hello, can you tell me how to turn on the owner cleaning mode? I set everything, poured some water, and everything is dry.
It came from Ali for 13,000 rubles. It's the regular m7 version. It doesn't dispense any water at all. I set different flow rates in the app, but it doesn't care. I'll probably be returning it.
The problem is an airlock in the pump. Take a syringe, preferably a 10 ml one, and inject water through it. Everything is fine.
Hello. Can you recommend this robot or the atvel r80?
Good afternoon. I join this question.
I would take this one.
Good afternoon! I'm deciding between the Dreame L10 Pro, the Midea M7 Pro, or the S5 Max. Please advise.
Dreamy, then Roborock, then Midea. That's my priority.
Good afternoon. I've read a lot of articles and comments on your website, as well as reviews of robot vacuum cleaners on AliExpress. I've narrowed it down to two options: the ILIFE A10S and the Midea m7 pro.
The first option is available on sale for 15,000 rubles, but the Midea is currently on sale for almost 19,000 rubles. I'd like to hear your opinion on which option to choose? I've seen several reviews of these robot vacuums on your site.
Thanks in advance!
Hello! Midea is definitely better.
Thank you for your prompt response!
The only downside to this robot vacuum is its clunky software, as mentioned in your review. I'm worried it might forget to clean parts of the apartment. And the attachment with the regular cloth, which doesn't clean well, is completely unnecessary 😀
A regular cloth is not for washing, but for creating freshness after dry cleaning (or rather, simultaneously), and the crooked app has already been updated at least 6 times since this review, and many things have been corrected and many new features have been added.
Early 2022 — I've had to reinstall the app twice in the last month because it wasn't working properly (won't start, can't detect the card, can't adjust the power, etc.). A factory reset didn't help; only deleting the app or resetting the robot's settings helped. Currently, the app remains very buggy, with localization errors (you get used to them quickly). I don't think this affects the robot's performance at all; it cleans up very well, but the buggy software occasionally makes me nervous. I'm considering using a different app, if possible.
Hello)
I've been poring over specs and reviews for three days now. At first, everything seemed simple and clear, but I didn't stop in time, and now I've looked at so many models that my vision is blurry and my head is a mess. Your opinions are very interesting; please share them in order of priority. These models caught my attention the most:
iLife A10S, 360 S7, Deebot Ozmo 900/902/930/N8, Dream Bot L10 Pro, Roborock S7.
Models with a self-cleaning base are certainly tempting; I found a very budget-friendly model. What do you think about the Elari smartbot ultimate?
Thank you in advance)
Hello! Unfortunately, I haven't tested the 350 or Deebot yet, so I can't say anything about them. Of those I have tested, if you have carpets, the following are available: Roborock S7, Dreame Bot L10 Pro (or Z10 Pro), and iLIFE A10s. If you don't have carpets, the following are options: Dreame Bot L10 Pro, Roborock S7, or iLIFE A10s.
The problem is an airlock in the pump. Take a syringe, preferably a 10 ml one, and inject water through it. Everything is fine.
I don't understand what you meant in the review when you said you had to flip the vacuum upside down to install the attachment. If you were referring to the dust tank, it comes off with a simple press of a button and attaches just as easily, without having to flip the vacuum. Or are you talking about the attachment with the dust tank that attaches to the water tank? But then again, why flip the ENTIRE vacuum? Remove the dust tank, flip the tank over, and then remove/attach the attachment with the dust tank.
Hello! I've read a ton of your reviews, but as they say, the further into the forest... ))) Could you please tell me what to choose? Prices are up to 25,000 rubles. I've really liked the MIDEA M7 PRO and Dreame D9, but maybe I've overlooked something. Perhaps you could suggest another model or which one is better among those I mentioned above? Thank you in advance for your reply!
Hello! The Midea is a good robot, and the Dreame Bot D9 Max/L10 Pro are also on par. They have better navigation and functionality, but their wet cleaning performance is slightly inferior.
Thanks again for the advice!
Hello. Any advice on which one to choose or what differences should I pay attention to? I'm considering the Mi Trouver Robot LDS, Midea m7, and Dreame F9? Is it worth paying extra for the Midea m7 pro or Dreame D9? My space is up to 50 square meters, I have a cat, no carpets, and my children crumble and make a mess, sometimes dripping on the floor (so I'm considering a cleaning function). I don't want to pay for something I don't need. Thank you for your rating and reviews.
Hello! I think we can stop at Dreame F9.
Hello! Will the presence of the Midea m7 lidar outweigh the other advantages of the Dreame F9?
It will outweigh a large area) For 40-60 sq.m. I don’t think so.
Thank you!
Good day!
I received the Medea M7 today. Connecting to my home network was a bit of a chore... Then, when I first launched it through the app, the vacuum started squirming around 1 square meter and after a while, it started complaining about wheels slipping, even though the floor and wheels were fine. When I reset the map and restarted, the same thing happened again, with the squirming around and the "wheels slipping"...
In manual mode, when you press the "forward" button, it moves backwards a little, then turns and freezes, despite the fact that the "forward" button is pressed.
Tell me what the problem is and how to solve it?
Did you manage to solve the problem? I haven't encountered this problem before, but I can imagine something similar.
Good afternoon, nothing has been said about how this robot avoids obstacles, whether it recognizes them, thank you
Hello! The bumper barely touches large obstacles like furniture and walls. It doesn't detect objects on the floor.
Thank you! It's a very difficult choice. Ideally, I'd like one with similar characteristics and object recognition. Please advise.
Ecovacas Deebot OZMO T9 AIVI
Tell me what to choose: Midea M7 Pro or Xiaomi Mijia Vacuum Cleaner Pro?
I'd probably choose Midea. It's more powerful and has better software.
Good afternoon, choosing between Midea M7 Pro and Dreame D9.
In your Midea S8+ review, you said the M7 Pro added points. I didn't quite understand; could you elaborate?
Have they fixed anything in the M7 Pro?
What is better to take?
Hello! Yes, I checked Midea's software development, so I added some points (you can manually edit room boundaries, they added Russian language support, and the ability to connect to Alice). The Midea is definitely better than the Dreame D9.
Good afternoon
Please advise which dust cover should I take: Midea M7, 360 S7 or XIAOMI MIJIA 3C?
The apartment is 40 square meters, we have a fluffy cat, there are no thresholds, in the winter we put down rugs, the flooring is linoleum and lightly painted wood. They all cost in the 15-17 thousand range now.
Hello! Having not tested any of the three robots, I think the best one would be the Midea M7, based on my experience with the Midea M7 Pro.
We bought this device, but we're having two doubts... It's constantly acting up, occasionally not cleaning completely and then leaving, as if it's done. Sometimes the map shifts, meaning it moves around and cleans about 50 cm in a room and doesn't go any further. Sometimes it cleans part of a room, then moves to another, cleans part there, comes back and cleans another part in the first room, then a third, then returns to the second, and only then finishes in the third again. It doesn't clean the hallway, though. I've reset the map several times. I updated the app. Today, when cleaning from scratch and building a map, it only circled around one room and didn't move to another. Overall, it's interesting; it keeps me busy so far. But I'm not sure what the problem is.
Hello! I bought a Midea M6 on Ozon for $129. I drove it for two days, and the wet cleaning function still wouldn't work. I barely returned it, and waited six days for the return to be approved. While they were still trying to figure it out, the M6's price went up to $116.
Now I'm debating: should I get the M6 again or the M7 Pro? The M7 Pro is now available for under 14k.
I've deleted your reviews ))) Thank you so much for your efforts! Please give me some advice!
Or advise what I can look at for under $150.
Well, the M7 Pro is clearly more interesting than this model) There aren't many options for up to 15,000 (It will probably be the best if you need wet cleaning.
I have a Midea M7 Pro. I have a 3m x 1m black carpet in the hallway at the entrance. It's afraid. More precisely, it keeps yelling, "Wipe the height difference sensor." And it refuses to clean it. It's a shame. This was one of the features I really wanted.
I need your advice... I have a floor area of about 70 sq m, carpets, hardwood flooring, and linoleum in the kitchen, and two cats. I'm choosing between the F9 and the Midea 7 (with a 12-month warranty) due to budget... I have a similarly priced, but without a warranty, Viomi V3 V-RVCLM26B (used for 3-4 months). What advice do you have?
Thanks in advance.
I'm deciding between the F9 and the Midea M7 (12-month warranty) based on my budget. I could also buy a Viomi V3 V-RVCLM26B for the same price, but it's been used for four months and has no warranty (it was imported from Poland). I need to clean: the total area is about 70 sq m, the flooring is polished hardwood, there are carpets, and I have two cats. What do you recommend?
Good afternoon.
This is my first time buying a robot vacuum. Could you please advise me on the best one in the budget segment (up to $230-240 maximum) for a two-room apartment, 48 square meters, without carpets. And, if possible, I'd like the wet cleaning to be more than just for show. The floor is laminate.
I'm currently deciding between the Midea M7 Pro, Xiaomi Mijia Vacuum Cleaner Pro, 360 S8, and Dreame D9. Or maybe you can recommend another option?
All four options are good. Dreamy and 360 are more reliable. Xiaomi is the most functional. Midea is so-so. I used to like it, but there are a lot of complaints. Its wet cleaning is the best.
To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. The wet mopping feature doesn't work. Even YouTube tips didn't help. The in-app feedback doesn't work: I sent a message about the wet mopping issue, but it's silent. The mapping isn't great. It completely ignored one room: it entered it, cycled a couple of times, and then left. In short, it's just an expensive broom. Dust and dog hair remain on the floor, and the brooms scatter larger debris to the sides. I'm disappointed, irritated, and angry. I hate going to stores or service centers with a freshly purchased item!!! I don't recommend this company.
Hello! My Midea M7 vacuum cleaner is spinning around its axis and changing direction on its own. What can I do?
Reset the settings and rebuild the map, starting from the database. It might help. If not, try using a service.
