Xiaomi Roborock S6 Pure: A Premium Robot Vacuum Cleaner for Just $300!

Greetings to all readers of the site robovac.washerhouse.com! We've received a detailed review of the brand new Roborock S6 Pure, which launched in Russia just a couple of weeks ago. We're excited to be the first to talk about this new product, as well as show you how this robot vacuum cleaner cleans and what it can do. It's important to note right away that The S6 Pure is a standalone model.Don't confuse it with the S6 Global. These are different robot vacuums. The Pure is a stripped-down version: it has four drop sensors instead of six, a slightly more limited package, and lacks the improved motor noise insulation. Its main advantage is its price of $299. For a robot with premium features and functionality, this is incredibly affordable. Without further ado, let's dive into the detailed review!
Equipment
Let's start with the unboxing. The robot comes in a bright branded box. The package contents are inferior to those of the flagship model. Roborock S6/T6, which made it possible to reduce the price of the new product.
The updated S6 Pure comes with:
- Robot vacuum cleaner.
- Charging base with power adapter.
- Base pad (will protect the floor from getting wet when the robot returns to charge after wet cleaning).
- Water tank with one microfiber cloth.
- Spare water dispensing valves (4 pcs.).
All components are shown in the photo:
Appearance
Let's move on to the robot vacuum cleaner itself. On top, we see the lidar, which is responsible for navigation and room mapping. The laser rangefinder itself is equipped with a button on top that prevents the robot from getting stuck. When the button is pressed, the robot changes direction. In addition to the lidar, there are two mechanical control buttons on the top of the body.
Under the top cover is a dust collector and a special brush for cleaning it, as well as the central turbo brush. Roborock has cleverly designed a storage location for this brush, ensuring it's always within easy reach and won't get lost during use.
The dust container holds up to 460 ml of dry waste, which is 20 ml less than S5 and the S6, but the difference isn't dramatic. The dust collector itself is equipped with a washable HEPA filter, which is a distinct plus.
Let's turn the robot vacuum cleaner over and see how it's designed from the bottom.
We see that the side brush is a new design. It's five-pointed and made of silicone. Compared to the three-pointed brush, this one collects debris better and wears out less quickly. This has already been proven in practice.
Let's move on to the central brush. It's a classic bristle-and-petal design. It's easily removed from the body for cleaning or replacement. The design itself is detachable, making it easy to clean hair and pet hair, as we'll demonstrate during our tests.
The robot is equipped with a soft-touch mechanical bumper at the front to protect furniture from damage.
Upon review, it immediately becomes clear that there is no separate tank; the nozzle is attached to the bottom of the body, as is implemented in the Roborock S5 and S6.
The water tank itself has been slightly enlarged, holding up to 180 ml of liquid, compared to the previous version's capacity of 150 ml. Water is poured through a special opening with a sealed valve. The cleaning cloth is attached to the back with Velcro and fits into a special groove at the front. Under the cleaning cloth, you'll find replaceable dispensers and a water level adjustment mechanism. It has two settings, just like the older Roborock S6 model. Water flows to the cleaning cloth by gravity.

Functionality + cleaning test
For a visual overview of the Roborock S6 Pure's cleaning capabilities and performance, we recommend watching our video review:
Let's briefly review what we learned from testing this robot vacuum. After the first launch, the robot will create a room map and all its features will become available. You can save a cleaning map, control the indicator light, enable a power boost mode for carpets, and more. There's also a Do Not Disturb mode, which lets you disable scheduled cleaning on specific days. This mode allows you to set the start and end times for the cleaning cycle.
In addition, the app features a timer that lets you set not only the day and time of cleaning, but also specific rooms. For example, you can schedule a cleaning in the kitchen at 9:00 AM and in the bedroom at 12:00 PM. This is very convenient. You can also choose the alert voice and volume in the app. There's also a zone cleaning mode, which allows you to direct the robot to a specific area for spot cleaning. The manufacturer also offers manual control, which is sometimes popular.
The app includes information about past cleanings, allowing you to track where the Roborock S6 Pure has previously cleaned and how long it took. You can also view the wear level of components, such as the brushes and filter, in the corresponding section. There's also a contact page for customer service and various other sections, such as software version information and the ability to update it yourself, if necessary.
The ability to set virtual walls and no-go zones on the map is useful. These features will appear immediately after the robot creates a room map and saves it to its memory. Incidentally, the robot can store up to three cleaning maps: the current one and two backup ones. Therefore, the Roborock S6 Pure is suitable for cleaning two-story houses.
Another very useful feature is the ability to divide the room map into rooms, or, conversely, combine several rooms into one. This feature allows you to select specific rooms for cleaning and more flexibly customize the cleaning schedule. Furthermore, you can individually adjust the suction power for each room, depending on the conditions and level of dirt. This is an advanced feature that not all premium robot vacuums support.
As for its cleaning technology, the robot combines a serpentine and perimeter sweep. This ensures high-quality vacuuming without leaving behind debris. Incidentally, the robot's movement pattern has been updated. Now, the robot moves in a serpentine pattern along the rooms, rather than in a row. The updated movement algorithm speeds up the cleaning process without compromising cleaning quality.
The Roborock S6 Pure performed excellently in the dry cleaning test. During wet cleaning, the robot doesn't over-wet the floor, making it suitable for cleaning both tile and wood floors. Importantly, the robot can vacuum and mop simultaneously.
An important feature worth mentioning is that the robot vacuum automatically increases suction power when it enters carpeted areas. This is a useful feature that allows you to save battery life and achieve better cleaning results on carpeted areas.
During our test, the robot cleaned an area of approximately 35 square meters in less than half an hour. This means the Roborock S6 Pure can clean well over 100 square meters on a single charge (the claimed range is 250, but that's in the lowest power mode). Even if the battery doesn't cover the entire area, the robot vacuum will return to its base, charge, and then resume cleaning where it left off.
Let's sum it up
In conclusion, let's highlight the main advantages and disadvantages of the new Roborock S6 Pure.
Its main advantage is its price of just $29. Considering its features and functionality, it's truly affordable. For that price, few, if any, robots can compete with this one.
The second advantage is precise navigation thanks to lidar. After watching the video review, you'll see for yourself how well the robot navigates its surroundings and how it doesn't miss any areas in any room.
This leads to another advantage: very high cleaning quality. The robot passed all three tests with flying colors. And when we used it to clean the entire apartment, it managed to pick up additional debris, even though it seemed already clean. The robot vacuums well on both hard floors and carpet. It also performs its primary function during wet cleaning.
Another advantage is its advanced functionality. The Roborock S6 Pure has virtually everything you need to automatically keep your home clean. A wealth of settings, a wide variety of features, and all of this is gathered in a user-friendly mobile app. Anyone can easily navigate its functionality!
Lastly, I'd like to point out that the build quality and components of this robot vacuum cleaner are completely in line with premium robots. The plastic is quite durable, the joints and gaps are flawless, and the robot feels truly comfortable to hold.
This model has no drawbacks, considering it costs $300. For the price, it's an excellent option in terms of functionality and cleaning quality. The only criticism is the way the wet cleaning feature is implemented. The Roborock S6 Pure doesn't have electronic adjustment of the cleaning cloth's wetting level, you can't adjust the water flow level individually for each room, and there's no Y-pattern in mopping mode. For example, Roborock S5 Max It is equipped with all the above mentioned functions, but that is why it costs up to $400.
But, as mentioned above, for under $300, this is an excellent option. While its wet cleaning performance is slightly less effective, the robot still does a good job of automatically cleaning the house, and its price is incredibly low, in our opinion. Therefore, we definitely recommend this robot vacuum!
That concludes our review of the Xiaomi Roborock S6 Pure. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments! Happy shopping, everyone!
Analogues:

Thanks for the useful information, but I don't understand. Could you please tell me if it's possible to wash the filter in water?
Hello! Yes, you can.
The most frustrating thing is that the mentioned features (Y-motion wiping, room division with the ability to use them in scenarios) are all software. It would be a piece of cake for the manufacturer to add this even to the most basic models with navigation. But no. Buy a robot for 30,000 rubles and only then will you get the best controls. Pure marketing, in my opinion. I have a Xiaomi robot with lidar, the very first model for the Chinese market. I bought it for 14,000 rubles. It creates a great map and vacuums perfectly. What's stopping the manufacturer from adding all these bells and whistles to Mi Home for this model? What a bummer.
What would you recommend for a two-story, 130 sq. m. house? Roborock S6 Pure or Okami U100 Laser?
Don't know how to switch to Russian voice acting?
Did you succeed? If so, please share the instructions. I haven't had any results yet.
The Roborock S6 MaxV has a camera that recognizes objects on the floor. And with the new firmware, it now has a remote camera activation feature (?). Does this robot have this functionality?
Hello! This robot does not have these functions.
Could you please tell me if it has an automatic water supply shut-off?
For example, I want to fill the tank with water in the evening and see a clean floor in the morning. Or will it flood the docking station?
Hello! No, this model does not have this feature. Furthermore, it is recommended to manually wet and wring out the cloth before starting wet cleaning, so that the robot will clean the floor from the very first minute. It will take quite a while for the cloth to wet itself. Water is supplied to keep the cloth wet.
Good afternoon. The robot doesn't have Russian language support in its firmware. How do I install it?
