To develop this new category, Xiaomi has taken over the Dreame brand. Currently, this brand produces a whole series of cordless handheld devices. One of the latest additions is the XR model, which will be the focus of this review. This handheld vacuum cleaner is essentially a versatile home assistant, capable of cleaning not only floors but also furniture, shelves, textiles, curtains, and even car interiors. Overall, the model is impressive, boasting a comprehensive set of components, an ergonomic design, and high efficiency and performance. All this for $140-$160. Let's talk about the package contents. This cordless upright vacuum cleaner with all its accessories comes securely packaged in a large cardboard box with a convenient carrying handle.

A review of the box's contents reveals a battery, a power supply, a wall mount, a metal extension pole without a telescopic mechanism, a short flexible adapter, accompanying documentation, and various attachments. The latter includes a pair of large electric brushes for smooth floors and carpets, a small motorized brush for upholstery and mattresses, a crevice tool, and a soft-bristled brush head.

The main brush of the Xiaomi Dreame XR upright vacuum cleaner features a soft-bristled roller with small, stiff bristles. It rotates during cleaning, picking up dirt and dust from smooth surfaces (parquet, linoleum, laminate, tile, etc.). In general, the design of the Xiaomi Dreame XR cordless handheld vacuum cleaner is inherited from the model V9PHowever, the new product uses slightly different colors: the body is made of white plastic with a matte finish, the metal extension tube, and the filter cover are copper-colored.

In terms of ergonomics and assembly, everything is top-notch: the plastic used is high-quality, there are no extraneous sounds or creaks during operation, and the connections are secure. The device is not overly heavy (just 1.5 kilograms in its basic configuration), making it easy and comfortable to hold in one hand. The upright vacuum cleaner is started using a handle with a trigger, and underneath it is a separate lever for switching power modes. LED charge indicators are also installed on both sides of the handle. The trigger must be held down throughout operation (like in Dyson vacuums). On the one hand, this helps conserve battery life: releasing the trigger stops the device. Once inside, debris passes through a five-stage filtration system, including a HEPA filter, before being deposited into a 500-milliliter dust collector.
