Lydsto WL07: An affordable and stylish robot window cleaner with dual-sided water spray

This review examines the affordable Lydsto WL07 robotic window cleaner. Priced between $100 and $130, this unit boasts a slim design, both remote and app control, and, most importantly, a dual spray system. It also boasts a stylish design and a well-known brand in the household cleaning robot market. Overall, it seems like an attractive option. Below, I'll thoroughly test the Lydsto WL07, highlight its pros and cons, and then share my thoughts on the robot. Let's get started!
Equipment
The window cleaning robot arrived in this branded box:
In addition to the robot itself, the delivery kit includes:
- Power supply with adapter for connection to the network.
- Remote control with batteries.
- Bottle for pouring water.
- Three spare napkins.
- Operating instructions in English.
Appearance
Now let's take a look at the Lydsto WL07. It's a square-shaped, white window cleaning robot.
The housing height is only 63 mm, although it is stated as 68 mm. Thanks to its slim design, it can easily be used on windows with bars.
There are water sprayers on both sides.
At the top, we see a stylish leather handle that folds down, taking up virtually no space. Next to it is the power button.
The robot moves on tracks. Below, we see a sealed valve for filling the tank with water. In the center are the ventilation holes for the main motor. There are duplicated robot status indicators. Along the edges, there are traditional sensors that detect the edges of the work surface; these serve as fall protection. The cloth is of the standard design and is attached to the base with Velcro.
Overall, the design is familiar. The pros and cons will be outlined in the final review.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of Lydsto WL07, as declared by the manufacturer:
- Backup battery: Li-Ion, 500 mAh.
- Power consumption: 72 W.
- Suction power: 2500 Pa.
- Battery life: up to 30 min.
- Water tank: 40 ml.
- Dimensions: 215*215*63 mm.
- Weight: 1350 g.
Functional capabilities
Speaking of functions, the remote control has control buttons such as turning on/off the automatic water supply, adjusting the water supply level, manual control, start/pause, and selecting the dual and local window washing mode.
These same features are duplicated in the company's mobile app. It's in Russian, but the window cleaning robot speaks English. This is worth keeping in mind.
Testing
A detailed video review of the Lydsto WL07, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel:
Navigation and window cleaning quality
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, we'll check how the Lydsto WL07 performs at its primary task – cleaning windows from the outside. We'll also be able to evaluate its navigation. The robot's first pass over the windows collects all the dirt. It's recommended not to wet the cloth and turn off the water supply to reduce the risk of the robot smearing dirt across the glass.
For the second pass, you can spray a little water or cleaning agent onto the cloth and turn on the automatic liquid spray.
Let's compare the condition of the windows before and after:
Overall, the window cleaning quality is on par with similar products, but there are some caveats. Firstly, a common weakness of all window cleaning robots, including this one, is that corners remain unwashed due to edge sensors located in the corners. Secondly, you need to get the hang of stretching the cleaning cloths right along the edges of the body; otherwise, the robot may leave unwashed areas along the frames if the cleaning cloth doesn't extend to the edge.
I'll add that the Lydsto WL07 also navigates narrow windows without any problems! No complaints about the navigation!
Application on other surfaces
This robot can also be used to clean tiled walls, shower stalls, and mirrors. It's even worth noting that the Lydsto WL07 can gently roll away from the edges of frameless surfaces without losing traction. That's a plus!
But for those interested, this window cleaning robot can't function properly on horizontal surfaces. The navigation algorithm is flawed. Eventually, the robot approached the edge of the surface, lost its grip, and crashed.
Emergency mode
Let me explain how the Lydsto WL07 operates in emergency mode. When disconnected from the power supply, it starts beeping, plays emergency voice alerts in English, and the button on the handle flashes, as does the red indicator on the back of the robot.
This will allow you to detect the problem in a timely manner and remove the robot from the window.
Let's sum it up
The Lydsto WL07 window cleaning robot was thoroughly reviewed and tested. I'll summarize and share my personal opinion of the robot after using it. Here's what I liked:
- Double automatic spray of cleaning liquid.
- Control via app and remote control.
- Good navigation.
- Suitable for narrow windows.
- The small height of the body allows the robot to be used on windows with bars.
- The robot's versatility. It's suitable for cleaning not only windows, but also glass doors, mirrors, and wall tiles.
- Stylish design.
- Affordable price.
As for the shortcomings, the following were found:
- It doesn't wash into the corners.
- Does not work on horizontal surfaces.
- The quality of dirt removal is slightly inferior to that of robotic window cleaners with round cloths.
Overall, these criticisms apply to all the square-shaped robotic cleaners I've tested. Therefore, given the price and the inclusion of spray arms, this machine is definitely worth considering. It's capable of cleaning windows after winter and keeping them clean all year round.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
