Roborock S6 MaxV: A robot vacuum cleaner that recognizes objects on the floor

Hello everyone! You are on the channel. robovac.washerhouse.comWe've received the new Roborock S6 MaxV for review, and we're excited to be the first in Russia to detail this robot vacuum and show you how it cleans. This model is the company's flagship at the time of writing. The S6 MaxV features an innovative dual-front camera that recognizes and avoids objects on the floor. This eliminates unpleasant situations like getting tangled in cords, damaging fragile items, and smearing pet waste across the floor. Furthermore, the robot is the most powerful in the Roborock line, with a suction power of up to 2500 Pa. So, let's dive into our detailed review of this robot vacuum.
Equipment
The Roborock S6 MaxV comes in a branded box, which features a brief overview of the model's features.
Package Included:
- Plastic base for the docking station.
- Operating instructions.
- A quick guide to connecting your robot to a Wi-Fi network.
- Attachment for attaching a cloth to the robot (the cloth is already installed).
- Charging base and power adapter.
- Replacement HEPA filter class E11.
All components are shown in the photo:
In terms of configuration, the Roborock S6 MaxV is inferior to its predecessor. S6By the way! Lamobile, the company that provided us with this robot vacuum cleaner for review, gave our audience a bonus. Use the promo code robovac.washerhouse.com When ordering a robot, you can choose 2 of 3 spare consumables as a gift in your cart. These can be a spare side brush, a spare filter, or 30 disposable wet cleaning cloths.
We hope you appreciate this nice bonus!
Appearance
Let's take a closer look at the robot vacuum cleaner itself. The top panel features three mechanical buttons: Start/Pause, Return to Base, and Spot Cleaning. The lidar is equipped with a button that prevents the robot vacuum from getting stuck under furniture.
Under the top cover is a dust collector, as well as a tool for cleaning the dust collector and the central brush.
The dust container is capacious, with a capacity of 460 ml. The container itself contains a HEPA filter.
Turning the robot vacuum cleaner over, we see an updated five-point silicone brush, which is attached to the robot with a screw.
The central turbo brush is equipped with an anti-tangle system. The brush itself is made of bristles and petals and is detachable, like all the latest Roborock models. This detachable mechanism makes it easier to clean the turbo brush of hair and pet hair.
And the last thing we see from below is part of the water tank. It's installed at the rear.
Water is poured through a special opening with a sealed valve. The water supply is electronically regulated and shuts off when the robot stops.
The tank holds up to 300 ml of liquid, which is enough to clean up to 200 square meters of space at a minimum wetting level.
And finally, on the front, we see a dual front-facing camera. Frankly, it looks unusual.
This camera allows the robot to recognize objects on the floor. The artificial intelligence embedded in the Roborock S6 MaxV robot vacuum cleaner is capable of self-learning and memorizing new objects over time. The robot is also equipped with a soft-touch bumper.
The robot itself, by the way, costs around $550. It is the most expensive robot vacuum cleaner in Roborock line, which is due to a number of innovations that have been introduced. But when compared to its main competitor, Ecovacs Deebot OZMO T8 AIVI, which is also equipped with a camera for object recognition, the price of a similar device is around $600-650, which is even more expensive. So, the Roborock S6 MaxV is quite reasonably priced and even lower than its competitors.
Technical specifications
Now let's talk about the characteristics, of the main ones I would like to highlight:
| Type of cleaning | Dry and wet |
| Power supply | Li-Ion battery 5200 mAh |
| Opening hours | Up to 180 minutes |
| Cleaning area | Up to 250 m2 |
| Suction power | up to 2500 Pa |
| Height of obstacles | Up to 20 mm |
| Dust collector capacity | 460 ml |
| Water tank capacity | 300 ml |
| Overall dimensions | 353x350x96.5 mm |
| Noise level | up to 67 dB |
It's important to note that the Roborock S6 MaxV, unlike its predecessors, can run for up to 3 hours on a single charge. But the biggest difference is its 25% increased suction power. 2500 Pa is one of the best on the market and the best in the Roborock line!

Functional capabilities
Let's move on to an overview of the updated features. We'll show you all the Roborock S6 MaxV features in the app. Here an important pointWe used the Mi Home app to control the robot, as the Roborock app is currently not supported on Android. The functionality of these two apps is almost identical, but there is one very important BUTArtificial intelligence and, therefore, object recognition work correctly when the robot vacuum is launched via the Roborock app. This conclusion was reached after repeated tests, where, when controlled via Mi Home, the robot failed to recognize objects when driving over them. We found a way to install the Roborock app on Android; you can read the description of the video review (below). But the good news is that the manufacturer promises to add support for the Roborock app on Android in Russia as early as August 1st, so this issue will be fixed very soon.
Let's return to the Roborock S6 MaxV's feature overview. After connecting the robot to a Wi-Fi network and performing a test run, a map of the room appears in the main menu, along with information about the last cleaning session. Specifically, the area cleaned and the run time. The battery percentage is also displayed.
The robot automatically divided the cleaning map into rooms. Below the map, you can select a cleaning mode, such as the entire available area, specific rooms, or a selected zone. Within a selected zone, you can configure the number of robot passes, from 1 to 3. You can also set multiple cleaning zones on the map at once, which is very convenient.
A new feature is the ability to customize suction power and wipe wetting for each room. This feature is new to the new flagship models. Roborock T7 and S6 MaxV, and later it was added to other suitable robots in the Roborock line.
The benefit of custom settings is that you can set the water flow to a minimum in rooms with wooden floors, while in the kitchen and bathroom, where the floors are tiled, you can choose a more intense wetting of the cloth. The same applies to suction power. In rooms with carpets, it's best to set the maximum setting, while in rooms that get less dirty, you can choose the more energy-saving Quiet mode.
You can also edit maps. Specifically, you can combine multiple rooms into one, or divide a room into zones, choose room names, and set the cleaning order. You can also set no-go zones and virtual walls. Among the new features, the robot is able to save up to four unique cleaning maps and automatically recognize its current floor.
Let's move on to the main settings of Roborock S6 MaxV.
You can enable a saved map mode, which allows you to set no-go zones and virtual walls, as well as perform the actions just described. There's also a carpet mode, which allows the robot to automatically increase suction power when it enters a carpet. There's also a do-not-disturb mode, which prevents the robot from making voice notifications and performing scheduled cleanings. In do-not-disturb mode, you can set a desired time interval—for example, from 10 PM to 8 AM.
Let's look at the camera's features. You can enable object recognition and notify the robot that a pet is in the house. This information helps the robot vacuum cleaner better develop its object recognition strategy.
Additionally, you can set up a schedule (including setting the time, operating mode, and desired rooms for cleaning), select the language and volume of voice notifications, set up spot cleaning, control the robot vacuum cleaner manually, view cleaning history, and view the status of consumables.
If necessary, you can contact customer service, name the robot, share control with other users, update the firmware, set a password for the robot, and view answers to frequently asked questions.
These are all the robot vacuum cleaner's features. As you can see, there are flexible cleaning cycle settings, allowing you to choose the most suitable settings for your needs. Another important detail: the new firmware update, due out on August 1st, will add a remote camera activation feature and display camera information on your smartphone. This is convenient for remote monitoring of your home. For example, to check if there are strangers in the house, whether you've turned off the iron, or whether your pet is doing well.

Review Summary
In conclusion, based on a detailed review and testing, we will share our opinion on the new Roborock S6 MaxV.
It certainly has the most advanced navigation system, and at the time of writing, there are only three such robots on the market. We can't compare the Roborock with similar robots like the Ecovacs Deebot, as we haven't personally tested them yet. But we can say this much about the S6 MaxV:
- Object recognition is a true breakthrough in navigation and a very useful feature, plus it will allow you to monitor your home remotely. The lidar and camera combination is the best solution on the market today.
- The suction power is high, and the robot copes well with cleaning on various surfaces.
- The cleaning algorithm has been improved, and the robot completes the task faster.
- This model is suitable for cleaning multi-level buildings, as it stores unique maps and identifies which floor it is on.
- The Roborock S6 MaxV features all the latest technology available on the market.
- It features simultaneous dry and wet cleaning. It features both a dust collector and an electronically fed water tank. This is the most optimal design solution.
- The robot's design, build quality, and materials are top-notch. The robot vacuum cleaner is premium in quality and looks very respectable.
As for shortcomings, the current issues with connecting the proprietary Android app left a mixed impression. Without it, the claimed artificial intelligence leaves much to be desired. So, we're eagerly awaiting the August update. And, as mentioned earlier, the object recognition technology requires time for the robot to quickly and accurately detect obstacles on the floor. While this technology is still learning, don't expect miracles; the Roborock S6 MaxV needs time to adapt. And with each new cleaning cycle, it will perform better and better.
In any case, this robot vacuum cleaner is one of the pioneers and Roborock engineers brought to market something that most competitors did not, so they should be given credit for that.
Finally, we recommend checking out our comparative test of the best robot vacuum cleaners of 2020, the Roborock S6 MaxV also took part in the comparison.
That's all for now. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments below. The description below the video contains a lot of useful information, including where to order this robot at a great price. Happy shopping, everyone!

Hello! I bought this vacuum cleaner and couldn't figure out why I couldn't download the app using the code on the box until I read this article. Wasn't it possible to make a remote control with an app pre-installed for such an expensive vacuum cleaner? I read a lot of questions from owners in that iPhone app, and no one answered them! I have to turn the vacuum on using the button alone. The only understandable word it says is "base"; the rest is in Chinese! After 50 minutes of cleaning, it goes back to the base. Yesterday, I barely managed to get it out from under the slightly open balcony door. Are these problems really supposed to happen when buying a top-of-the-line device? I spent a long time choosing, and the ad didn't mention any problems with the controls!
Good afternoon
I still couldn't find a link to install the Roborock app on Android. Could you email me the information?
Thank you!
Hello, I recently bought this (Roborock S6 MaxV). It's a great device, I love everything about it, but I have one question left unanswered. Could you tell me if it's fully charged while docked, and if it's not charging, it's damaging the battery? So, it's already fully charged, but it's still charging.
Good afternoon! No, nothing is damaged. On the contrary, the battery life at the station is not reduced, compared to when the robot is completely turned off while it's charged.
Good afternoon
It won't climb on 3cm high carpets, is there a solution?
There was an old YouTube video where they pressed a U-shaped piece of plastic around the perimeter of a carpet, something like that. This reduced the height at the edges to 2 cm, and the robot would drive onto the carpet, but that's just too crude. I haven't seen any other solutions.
Hello! How does this work in dark areas? We have dark tiles around the perimeter, or can you recommend the best one?
Hello! Like all Roborocs, it's sensitive to dark surfaces. If there are no elevation changes (stairs, for example), you can simply tape the sensors underneath.
Good afternoon! Could you please tell me if it can vacuum and wet clean at the same time? I'd like to see this feature added to the robot.
I also have a child at home, and there are all sorts of Lego sets and the like. Which one would be best for getting around this?
I carefully select a robot vacuum cleaner. It doesn't have a self-cleaning station, and it's important that it can vacuum in the dark (under the sofa). Budget: up to 40,000 rubles.
For now the priority is as follows (from most to least preferred):
1) Dreame Bot L10 Pro
2) Xiaomi Mijia Vacuum Cleaner Pro
3) Roborock S6 MaxV
4) Roborock S7
5) ecovacs deebot ozmo T8 aivi
What priority would you make?)
Hello! If obstacle avoidance is a priority, I'd swap the first and third places. Roborock is the coolest in this regard so far. But overall, I'd also prioritize robots.
Good afternoon! Could you please tell me which robot to choose? I have a two-story house, 200 square meters, tile and laminate flooring, very few carpets, and a dog with a lot of fur and long hair, as there are three women in the house. I definitely need in-home cleaning.
Wait for the Hobot Legee-D7 to come out. There should be a perfect option for your needs. Or, get the Legee 7, which is already on sale.
Hello! Could you please tell me, I can't find information about the release dates of two vacuum cleaners. I'm interested in the S6 Max V, which was mentioned here, and the Q7 Max. I can't figure out which one was released later and what the significant differences are. I'm running from website to website, and the information is all mixed up. I'd really appreciate even a brief answer!
Hello! The Roborock S6 MaxV was released in 2020, while the Q7 Max was released in 2022. There are significant differences across the board. The S6 MaxV's main feature is object recognition. The Q7 Max has a more powerful motor, a better center brush, and self-cleaning.
Good afternoon. Could you please tell me if this vacuum cleaner is compatible with iPhones? Or does it have the voice assistant Alice?
He's iPhone-friendly and supports Alice.
I also forgot to ask if the vacuum cleaner app is currently in Russian and if it speaks Russian. I'm looking to buy one for my daughter. She has a 3-year-old child and a dog, but it doesn't shed. Two girls (a daughter and a granddaughter) have long hair. We have a 78 sq. m apartment with laminate flooring. The kids' room has a small carpet, so squabbles over height are only on the carpet. There are no thresholds between the rooms. They only have iPhones, and they have Alice, which cleans in their absence, with the ability to monitor and edit tasks. Would this vacuum cleaner be suitable?
It will do) The main thing is to buy the Russified version, and not the global one, so that it speaks Russian.
Hello! Is it possible to install cool voiceovers?
No
Good afternoon. I have a question: Dreame L10 or Roborock S6 MaxV? They're the same price. No carpet options. I'm confused because the Roborock is from 2020 and is ranked lower than the Dreame. Which would you recommend?
Compared them https://robovac.washerhouse.com/en/sravnenie/robovac-roborock-s6-maxv-i-dreame-bot-l10-pro.html
Hello.
I purchased the Roborock S6 MAXV in 2020. It worked great for two years, and the only downside was that it got stuck on dark carpet patterns.
Please recommend where it can be repaired in Moscow or the Moscow region.
After 2 years, two problems appeared:
Problem 1. A loud noise from the fan motor appeared and at the same time the suction power dropped, by 50% in my opinion;
Problem 2. Almost simultaneously with the first issue, a dirty filter error began frequently appearing, sounding something like: "Suction power is reduced. Clean or dry the filter." At first, it occurred every 3-5 minutes, and then every minute, making the robot vacuum unusable.
Attempts to solve problems.
To troubleshoot the issues, I took the following steps:
1. Disassemble and clean dust from all internal air ducts and the mesh on the fan motor.
2. Replacing the fan motor.
These two steps eliminated the motor-fan noise, but didn't address the power loss or the persistent dirty filter error. I sent it to the service center. They said the board needed to be replaced.
3. On the recommendation of the service center, I purchased and replaced the board in the robot vacuum cleaner.
This step also did not help to solve the problem of power loss and the persistent dirty filter error.
I even had a suspicion that the manufacturer intentionally reduced the suction power programmatically once the robot vacuum cleaner had accumulated a certain number of working hours.
Result:
— Roborock S6 MAXV has been sent to inquisitive relatives who hope to fix it.
— I have lost trust in the existing Roborock service centers because they were unable to repair my robot vacuum cleaner and they are all unauthorized.
I'm currently considering the Dreme L10S Ultra. Based on your reviews, it's exactly what I need. I just need to find out if the Dreme L30 brush and blade can be installed on it.
P.S. Roborock has a trade-in program, but only in the US. It would be great if it were implemented in Russia.
Hello! I can't offer any repair advice, I haven't done it myself. Maybe Lamobile can help, let them know. Regarding the wiper blade, yes, it should work.
