iLife V8 Plus: The updated V8s in white with a virtual wall included

Hello everyone! Today we'll be talking about the new iLife V8 Plus robot vacuum cleaner, which will be hitting the market soon. This model is an updated version of the popular iLife V8sThe main difference is the case color (white) and the inclusion of a virtual wall. All other specifications and features are identical. In our opinion, the new white model is more understated, and considering its price of about $150 on AliExpress (link at the end of the review), it doesn't have many competitors. Let's take a closer look at the iLife V8 Plus.
Equipment
The robot vacuum cleaner comes in a branded box, which looks like this:
The delivery set includes the following items:
- The robot vacuum cleaner itself.
- Charging base.
- Power adapter.
- Remote control.
- Virtual wall.
- Wet cleaning tank with a cloth installed.
- One spare napkin.
- Spare filter.
- Side brushes (4 pcs, 2 of them spare).
- Brush for cleaning the dust collector.
- Operating instructions.
The kit includes everything you need, including spare consumables, which is a plus.
Appearance
As mentioned earlier, the iLife V8 Plus looks exactly like the iLife V8s. Only the body color has changed. The control buttons and display are located on the top panel. The dust container is removable from the back. Incidentally, it's quite roomy. The solid waste container holds a whopping 750 ml.
There is a soft-touch mechanical bumper on the front and a power on/off button on the side.
If you turn the robot vacuum cleaner over, you can see the mounting places for 2 side brushes (not yet installed) and a suction hole in the center.
We see that the motor is installed in the dust collector, so it can't be washed with water. This motor placement increases suction power. Other features located below include the iLife V8 Plus charging terminals on the base, wheels, and a swivel caster.

Functional capabilities
The iLife V8 Plus robot vacuum cleaner is equipped with a gyroscope for navigation. This allows it to effectively clean areas up to 80 square meters. However, according to the manufacturer, under ideal conditions, the robot can clean up to 150 square meters on a single charge. The gyroscope allows the iLife V8s to navigate more precisely and move in a zigzag pattern. This pattern allows the robot to virtually eliminate any missed areas, covering the entire available area.
The robot offers several operating modes: spot cleaning of a small, selected area, automatic cleaning of the entire available area, perimeter cleaning (the robot vacuum moves along walls and into corners), and maximum power. This last mode is ideal if your home hasn't been cleaned in a while or if there are carpets on the floors. You can also set a scheduled cleaning schedule.
The iLife V8s itself is equipped with two side brushes and a suction port. It lacks a center brush, making it better suited for cleaning hard floors. The manufacturer's lineup includes similarly priced and feature-rich models with a turbo brush. Whether or not you need a center brush depends on your desire to clean it regularly and whether you have pets.
The iLife V8s also features a generously sized 750 ml dust container. This is enough for several cleaning cycles, assuming your home isn't in poor condition and you're cleaning it daily. The dust container can be replaced with a water tank, allowing the robot to perform wet cleaning. The water tank holds 350 ml, enough for one full cleaning cycle.
The robot's compact height—8 cm—allows it to clean under certain types of furniture (such as a bed or kitchen cabinet). Moreover, its flat top prevents the robot from getting stuck under furniture. Importantly, the iLife V8s can overcome obstacles up to 15 mm high, allowing it to navigate even low-pile carpets and small thresholds between rooms.
This robot vacuum cleaner can be controlled using either the remote control or the buttons on the body. Everything is intuitive. Manual control is even available. This is useful if you need to direct the iLife V8 Plus to a specific spot for spot cleaning or if for some reason the robot misses an uncleaned area.
Let's sum it up
Considering the iLife V8 Plus is suitable for both dry and wet cleaning, has good gyroscope navigation, and comes with spare parts (a virtual wall, a spare cleaning cloth, and two side brushes), it's a worthwhile model overall. The only thing missing is app control. Here, you'll have to decide what's most important, as few offer a "complete kit" for $150.
So, if you're considering automated home cleaning and have a small budget (premium robots cost between $400 and $1,100), I recommend considering this model. Overall, the iLife V8 Plus has everything you need to keep your apartment or house clean while you relax or work.
