Miko V12: An upright vacuum cleaner that offers optimal price and quality

Hello to all readers of this project! This review focuses on the Miko V12 cordless upright vacuum cleaner. Its price range is $150-$180 at the time of writing. For this price, this vacuum boasts suction power of up to 30,000 Pa, a long-lasting battery, an informative display, and two different rollers for the main nozzle, making it versatile. Below, I'll test the Miko V12, highlight its pros and cons, and then express my opinion on whether this upright vacuum is worth buying. So, let's get started!
Equipment
The vacuum cleaner arrived in a branded box like this:
The package includes:
- Main block.
- Removable battery.
- Power adapter.
- Extension tube.
- Floor nozzle with a roller installed for cleaning carpets.
- Replacement roller for hard surfaces.
- Wall holder for vacuum cleaner and included attachments.
- Fasteners.
- Connector.
- Attachment with sliding bristles.
- Crevice nozzle.
- Operating instructions.
The package is good for the $150 price range, but it would be ideal if the vacuum cleaner also came with a turbo brush attachment for cleaning upholstered furniture.
Appearance
Now let's take a look at the Miko V12 upright vacuum cleaner. Let's start with the main unit. It's finished in graphite and looks very stylish.
The vacuum cleaner is turned on and off by pressing the trigger button. An informative display with two mechanical control buttons is located on the end of the vacuum cleaner: one for switching between operating modes and one for locking the vacuum cleaner when it's on.
The lock is useful so you don't have to constantly hold the trigger while cleaning, which is convenient. There are three operating modes. The instructions say they're Low, Eco, and High. But in reality, they're Low, Medium, and High. There's no automatic boost mode.
The Miko V12's battery is removable. This is a plus, as it can be charged separately from the vacuum cleaner. The charging port is located on the front.
The dust container opens and empties with the press of a button. Unfortunately, the dust container itself is not removable. Only the filtration system, consisting of a HEPA filter, a cyclone, and a mesh, can be removed.
The included connector is used to connect the main unit to the attachments. Here's what it looks like:
The decision is controversial and only complicates the process of servicing the vacuum cleaner, as well as its operation.
Let's look at the included attachments. The main floor nozzle features a light that illuminates the cleaning area. This is a plus. It comes with a universal roller for carpets and hard floors. The locking mechanism is easily removed from the side, eliminating the need for additional tools. Instead of this roller, you can install a fluffy roller with soft bristles. It's gentler on carpets, and many prefer this design.
The standard brush head has retractable bristles. The crevice tool also features an LED light, which is incredibly convenient!
Overall, I have no complaints about the build quality, especially considering the price. It looks stylish, is comfortable to hold, and the buttons are well-placed, making it easy to operate with one hand.
Here's what the Miko V12 looks like when fully assembled:
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of Miko V12, as declared by the manufacturer:
- Suction power up to 30 kPa.
- Li-Ion battery 4000 mAh.
- Dust collector 400 ml.
- Operating time from 10 to 60 minutes.
- Noise level 73-87 dB.
- Weight when fully assembled: 2.7 kg.
Speaking of specifications, I was impressed by the very long battery life, which is unusual for the $150-$200 price range. The suction power is also increased.
I personally measured the vacuum cleaner's noise level. It ranged from 73 to 87 dB, which is slightly above the norm.
The main unit weighs 1,831 grams, the extension tube weighs 244 grams, and the main floor nozzle weighs 624 grams. The fully assembled vacuum weighs 2,699 grams, which is comparable to similar vacuum cleaners.
Testing
A detailed video review of the Miko V12, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel:
Opening hours
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, let's check the Miko V12's battery life in Turbo mode with the main floor nozzle attached. It managed 10 minutes and 4 seconds of runtime, which is a pretty standard result. It's worth noting that the vacuum cleaner can run for up to 55 minutes on minimum power, and up to 20 minutes on medium power.
Suction power
As for suction power, even on its lowest setting, the Miko V12 was able to suck up debris from a 10mm gap. So, it's certainly a powerful upright vacuum. You might not need to use Turbo mode.
Collecting debris on laminate flooring
Now let's test how well the Miko V12 picks up floor debris. I scattered various types of debris on the laminate floor: hair, fur, grains, and other small household debris. This machine handled the task well. It's important to note that it has no trouble picking up debris along baseboards and in corners. It picks everything up thoroughly. The roller barely picks up any hair or fur. All debris is collected in the dust bin. Test passed!
Carpet cleaning
The same debris was scattered on the carpet, and the Miko V12 did an equally good job, thoroughly cleaning the carpet. This time, the carpet roller attachment was used.
Using additional attachments
It's also worth noting that the complete kit allows you to clean a sofa, areas beyond the reach of the main nozzle, and even car interiors. Overall, this vacuum cleaner is suitable for a variety of applications.
Cleaning the dust collector
Finally, I'll show you how to clean the dust bin. To do this, first disconnect the connector with the attachment from the main unit. Place the dust bin over the trash can and press the button. All the debris falls out through the bottom. Pet hair can get stuck in the filtration system. In this case, you'll have to remove it manually and shake out the remaining debris. This isn't very convenient, as you'll have to touch the dirty parts of the vacuum cleaner with your hands.
Personal opinion
The Miko V12 cordless stick vacuum cleaner was thoroughly reviewed and tested. I'll highlight its pros and cons, then share my personal opinion. I liked the following:
- Increased suction power.
- High-quality waste collection on any surface.
- Illumination of the cleaning area in the floor nozzle and in the crevice nozzle.
- Informative display on the body.
- Stylish design.
- Ergonomic design.
- Convenient storage of attachments on a wall holder.
- Removable battery.
From the comments I would like to highlight:
- Non-removable dust collector.
- There is no turbo brush attachment for cleaning upholstered furniture and mattresses.
- Increased noise level at maximum power.
- In front of the dust collector, an unnecessary, in my opinion, unit in the form of a connector is installed.
Ultimately, we see that the vacuum cleaner has both strengths and weaknesses. In any case, at a price of $150, criticisms such as the lack of an upholstery nozzle are quite forgivable. Increased noise levels are typical of vacuum cleaners with higher suction power, and these two parameters are closely interrelated. Therefore, the only real criticisms are the non-removable dust container and this connector, which, again, doesn't significantly complicate the process of assembly and disassembly. The advantages significantly outweigh the disadvantages, so after detailed testing, I believe the Miko V12 upright vacuum cleaner deservedly ranks among the top 5 best upright vacuums under $150 in 2023. For this price, this vacuum cleaner doesn't have many worthy competitors, and it definitely deserves your attention.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
