Xiaomi Viomi Cleaning Robot V3: Record-Breaking Suction Power and 3 Containers to Choose From

Greetings to all readers of the site robovac.washerhouse.com! Today we'll be talking about Vioimi's new robot vacuum cleaner, the Vioimi V3. At the time of writing, this model costs $300, and I'd like to say that for this price, it's one of the best. The best robot vacuum cleaners of 2020We'll update the rating soon. The manufacturer's lineup already includes some pretty cool robot vacuum cleaners, including Viomi V2 And V2 ProThey've received a lot of positive reviews online. The new V3 model is more powerful and versatile. So, below we'll show you what this robot vacuum cleaner is and how it cleans.
Equipment
Let's start with the unboxing. The Vioimi V3 comes in a branded cardboard box. You can see the robot vacuum itself. It's equipped with a lidar sensor for navigation. The box itself states that the robot maps the room, has a suction power of 2600 Pa, and is equipped with a 4900 mAh battery—not a bad start! Of all the robots we've tested, this is the highest claimed power.
The box contains the following components:
- The robot vacuum cleaner itself.
- Operating instructions (Russian language available).
- Attachment for attaching a microfiber cloth (cloth installed).
- A set of disposable napkins.
- 2 side brushes (one spare).
- Power adapter for connecting the base to the network.
- Spare microfiber cloth.
- Charging base.
- Separate water tank.
- Combined container for dry and wet cleaning.
All components are shown in the photo:
The included replaceable water tanks deserve special attention. The separate water tank holds 550 ml. When installed, the robot will perform wet cleaning only. This volume of water is sufficient for a fairly large area, over 100 square meters. The water filler is located on the top and is equipped with a sealed valve.
Below, we see the valves for supplying water to the cleaning pad. There are 10 of them. The tank also has a contact pad for powering the pump, which allows you to regulate the water supply and shut it off when the robot enters the base.
A replacement container is available, which is combined for dry and wet cleaning. This container has a 300 ml dust collector and a 200 ml water tank.
And this is despite the robot already having an additional container installed, exclusively for dry waste, with a capacity of 550 ml. Basically, you can choose which option to install depending on your preferred cleaning mode.
The combined container features a water fill hole and a pre-installed filter. The manufacturer doesn't specify that it can be rinsed with water. Through the translucent plastic, we can see the installed pump for the electronic water supply. At the bottom, we see two holes through which water is supplied to the cloth.
The package is really good, it has everything you need. A special plus for that!
Appearance
Now let's take a look at the robot vacuum cleaner itself. The body is black and glossy. It looks stylish, but this design is more prone to dirt and grime. The lidar sensor doesn't have a mechanical button to prevent the robot from getting stuck, as is the case with the new Roborock family of robots.
On the top of the Vioimi V3, you'll find two mechanical buttons: Start, Pause, and Return to Base. The front of the robot is equipped with a soft-touch mechanical bumper. Under the top cover is the dust container we mentioned earlier, along with a cleaning brush for the dust container and central brush.
This dust container features a lid for easy removal of debris. It also includes a HEPA filter and a coarse mesh filter.
Let's turn the robot vacuum upside down and examine its underside. A swivel roller is mounted at the front. This model has a single side brush. The central brush is a non-detachable bristle and petal brush. The wet cleaning nozzle is attached to the rear of the unit.
Now that we've reviewed the robot vacuum cleaner and its accessories, let's move on to a review of its specifications.
I would be grateful if after reading the review and watching the video you would appreciate my efforts by subscribing and liking!

Functional capabilities
Regarding the Vioimi V3's functionality, let's explore it in the app. On the main dashboard, you can see a map of the room after the last cleaning cycle, as well as information about the last cleaning. As you can see, the robot cleaned 5 square meters in 4 minutes. The remaining battery charge is 65%.
At the bottom, there's a button for forcing the robot to return to the base for charging and for accessing the map. Since the robot vacuum divides the room into rooms, you can combine several rooms into one, or, conversely, divide a room into separate zones and name them.
Let's return to the control panel. Depending on the installed container, we can select a cleaning mode: sweeping, dry and wet mopping, or wet mopping only. Wet mopping mode offers three dampening levels. In vacuum mode, you can adjust the suction power. Four levels are available, the highest of which, for some reason, the manufacturer decided to call "Violence." The robot clearly cleans surfaces very thoroughly.
In the Vioimi V3 settings, you can see the edge cleaning function. You can also select the double cleaning mode, so the robot cleans the entire area twice.
You can also select a motion pattern during wet cleaning: a standard S-pattern or a more thorough herringbone pattern. A history of previous cleanings is available, allowing you to see where the robot has cleaned and how long it took. Scheduled cleaning is also available. You can choose the time and day of cleaning, the appropriate mode, adjust the suction power and water flow rate, and select the rooms you want the robot to clean.
You can also select a time during which the robot will not disturb you. The cleaning program will not activate, and any voice notifications will be disabled. This is especially useful at night.
The robot can work with existing maps. In our case, there's only one map, but the robot stores up to five cleaning maps, and you can select the appropriate one from the list and delete unnecessary ones.
If necessary, you can adjust the volume of voice alerts, monitor the status of consumables, search for the robot by sound if it gets stuck, and control the Viomi V3 manually. You can also calibrate the sensors, share controls with other users, and update the firmware to the latest version. You can also set a password for the robot vacuum cleaner.
Let's return to the main work panel. It's important to demonstrate how to work with the map you've created. You can set no-go zones and virtual walls that the robot should not enter during cleaning. You can also select a specific area for the robot to clean. These are very useful features.
We demonstrated all of the Vioimi V3's cleaning tests (dry, dry and wet, on carpet, and throughout the entire apartment) in a video, which we highly recommend watching:
Let's sum it up
In conclusion, let's share our thoughts on this robot vacuum. Considering the Vioimi V3 costs around $300-360, its advantages are as follows:
- Good configuration, there are 3 containers to choose from.
- Powerful suction.
- Precise navigation based on lidar.
- Create a map of the room and save up to 5 maps in memory.
- Zoning of premises into rooms.
- Electronic regulation of water supply and suction power.
- Good quality dry and wet cleaning.
- More thorough cleaning mode with a snake.
- Cleans up pretty quickly.
- Instructions in Russian.
As for shortcomings, we encountered no issues with the robot during our tests. It cleans really well, and we encountered no navigation or control issues. Some might be bothered by the robot's lack of power on carpets, but this isn't a major drawback. Another issue is that the central brush doesn't disassemble. These are minor niggles, but they didn't affect the overall performance.
For the price, this is simply an excellent option, one of the best, if not the best. We are completely satisfied with its performance and definitely recommend it. That's all from us. Don't forget to subscribe and like. Happy shopping, everyone!
