VITEK VT-1803: a slim robot vacuum cleaner for dry and wet cleaning

The VITEK VT-1803 robot vacuum cleaner is designed for dry and wet cleaning of various flooring types, including parquet, wood, laminate, tile, and more. This model from a Russian brand was released in 2019. The average price for a robot vacuum cleaner is around $130, although at the time of writing, the manufacturer's website lists a price of $245.90, which is double that. The robot is equipped with a 2200 mAh lithium battery, which provides two hours of battery life. The device can be controlled via a remote control or a dedicated smartphone app. Wet cleaning involves wiping the floor with a damp lint-rich cloth. Further features and functions of the VITEK VT-1803 are discussed in the review below.
Equipment
The robot vacuum cleaner package includes:
- Floor-standing charging base.
- Power adapter.
- Remote control (+ batteries).
- Side brushes (2 main + 2 spare).
- Nozzle for wet cleaning.
- User manual.
Appearance
The VITEK VT-1803 robot has a standard round shape. Its body is made of white ABS plastic with a black trim on the top cover. The robot vacuum cleaner's dimensions are compact, especially its height: just 55 millimeters. Its diameter is 320 millimeters. It weighs only 2 kilograms.
Looking at the top panel of the case, we see the brand logo and next to it the single power button and automatic cleaning start button. The dust bin release button is also located here.
The dust collector is a small translucent container with a capacity of only 200 milliliters with a foam and HEPA filter, which is removed from the top using a special convenient handle.
The front of the robot vacuum cleaner features a soft protective bumper with nine infrared sensors. In addition, the rear features ventilation holes, a power switch, and a port for connecting the power adapter and charging the device directly from the wall.
On the back of the VITEK VT-1803, there are two drive wheels on the sides, a swivel roller, charging contacts, a battery compartment, four fall protection sensors, a pair of side brushes, and a suction nozzle.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of VITEK VT-1803 are summarized in the table:
| Type of cleaning | Dry and wet |
| Battery type | Li-Ion |
| Battery capacity | 2200 mAh |
| Opening hours | 120 minutes |
| Charging time | 300 minutes |
| Cleaning area | up to 100 sq.m. (according to the manufacturer) |
| Rated power | 20 W |
| Suction power | 350 Pa |
| Height of obstacles | 8-9 mm |
| Dust collector | Cyclone filter, 200 ml |
| Water tank capacity | 100 ml |
| Dimensions | 320*320*55 mm |
| Weight | 2 kg |
| Noise level | 65-68 dB |
It is important to note that, according to the manufacturer, the robot vacuum cleaner's battery life is approximately two hours, but in practice this time is usually reduced to one and a half hours.
The noise level of 65-68 dB is lower than that of a traditional corded vacuum cleaner, and is also average among similar, inexpensive robotic vacuums.
Functional capabilities
How does the VITEK VT-1803 navigate? It's all thanks to five pairs of built-in infrared obstacle sensors and four pairs of infrared altitude sensors. The robot doesn't feature any other navigation technology.
The robot vacuum cleaner cleans using two side brushes, which sweep debris toward the center of the suction nozzle, through which it is directed into the dustbin. It is recommended to empty the dustbin after each cycle, as it fills quickly due to its small capacity.
The VITEK VT-1803 model supports the following operating modes:
- automatic – route formation and cleaning are performed by the vacuum cleaner at its discretion, using a combination of several types of movement;
- along the perimeter – the robot vacuum cleaner moves along the walls and also cleans in corners;
- zigzag – movement along zigzag trajectories between obstacles throughout the entire accessible area;
- manual.
Modes are switched using the remote control or the Tuya Smart APP for Android or iOS smartphones. In addition to the operating mode, the app allows you to activate the robot vacuum, direct it to the charging base, set a schedule, and configure a timer.
I'd like to mention the wet cleaning feature separately. The water tank itself is integrated into the dust bin, so the capacity of both is quite small. Water flows onto a lint cloth, which is mounted on the bottom of the VITEK VT-1803. The wetting action isn't very intense, so you'll likely need to manually moisten the cloth. The cloth isn't made of microfiber, and it doesn't effectively collect fine dust, lint, and sand.
Operating instructions
The robot vacuum cleaner comes with two paper manuals in Russian and English. One provides recommendations for storage, operation, and troubleshooting, while the other describes how to connect the robot to a smartphone via the Tuya Smart app.

Advantages and disadvantages
Pros:
- Low body height.
- Control via application.
- Wipes the floor with a napkin.
- Long working time.
Cons:
- Poor navigation.
- Small volume of dust collector and water tank.
- Low efficiency of wet floor cleaning.
- There is no movement limiter.
- The sound alerts are loud and cannot be turned off.
- Poor cross-country ability (in reality, obstacles are no higher than 5 mm).
Overall, if you need a low-profile robot vacuum for cleaning under furniture and smooth floors, this option may be suitable. However, it's worth buying the VITEK VT-1803 if it costs around $130. If the price is as stated on the manufacturer's website (over $200), then the robot is far from the best value for the money. We also recommend checking out our Rating of thin robot vacuum cleaners.
