Only one robot from this list requires special attention - it is Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner, Xiaomi's very first robot vacuum cleaner, the one that started it all. It was released back in 2016 and is still selling well. The model is outdated, but production is likely still in progress, as there are numerous offers on various platforms.
Many people when ordering a robot vacuum cleaner Xiaomi Mijia LDS Vacuum Cleaner People fall for sellers' tricks and end up with first-generation models instead, as they look very similar. Be careful when ordering, and read reviews. Robots vary greatly.

Preliminary selection of the best models
Moving on, since the cost of robots varies between $120 and $550, we'll sort them by price and functionality to further determine the best in each segment.
Budget-mid-range segment:
- MiJia Sweeping Robot G1 ($110-130).
- Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner ($150-$170).
- MiJia Robot Vacuum Cleaner 1C/Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop (13-$180).
- Roborock E4 ($160-170).
Middle segment:
- Dreame F9 ($160-$200).
- Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner 1S ($190-230).
- Mijia LDS Vacuum Cleaner/Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop ($200-$230).
- Viomi V2 Pro (27-$290).
- Viomi SE ($270-300).
Mid-premium segment:
- Viomi Cleaning Robot V3/Viomi V3 (29-$330).
- Roborock S6 Pure ($310).
- Roborock S5 Max (33-$350).
- Roborock S6 MaxV ($490-550).
We've categorized the robots this way for a reason. Now let's look at each group and explain why it's worth choosing one of the robots within it.
Let's make a quick selection right away, since we're already talking about the best Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaners of 2020. The Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner was replaced by the Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner 1S, which has more accurate navigation thanks not only to its lidar but also to its camera. Furthermore, suction power was increased from 1800 to 2000 Pa and the robot was equipped with a more powerful processor.
Therefore, it makes sense to pay a little more and choose a newer robot with more precise navigation and a more powerful motor. Given all this, I'm eliminating the Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner from this race as an outdated option. But we'll return to it later in the rankings.
The same goes for the Viomi V2 Pro, which was replaced by the Viomi V3, which, at about the same price, is equipped with a more powerful engine, and overall looks better and is newer.
I'm also excluding the V2 Pro from the list as it's less cost-effective. The new Viomi SE, which launched at the end of 2020, also isn't particularly attractive at the moment. The manufacturer hasn't added anything interesting, and its suction power is 400 Pa less than the Viomi V3. The current price is around $270 with a discount, but the standard price of the robot is up to $460. So, even with the discount, its only attractive feature is its white and gold color, which isn't enough to make it one of the best robot vacuums in Xiaomi's lineup.
In this regard, the clear favorite among Viomi is the Viomi V3.
Top 10 Robot Vacuum Cleaners + Comparison
In total, out of 25, 10 robots remain that can be considered the most interesting for purchase.
Now we'll compare the best Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaners based on their specifications and features, so you can clearly see the differences between them. We've selected only the most essential parameters that influence cleaning performance and ease of use.
Taking all this information into account and our personal experience testing most robots, here's our ranking of the best Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaners of 2020:
- Roborock S6 MaxV – best features and best navigation.
- Roborock S5 Max – optimal in terms of characteristics and functions.
- Mijia LDS – optimal in terms of functionality and price.
- Dreame F9 is the best for small spaces (if wet cleaning is required).
- Roborock E4 is the best for small spaces (if wet cleaning is not so important).
- Mijia 1C – optimal in price and functionality for a small budget, suitable for small spaces.
- Viomi V3 – the best wet cleaning.
- Xiaomi 1S is the best for cleaning large areas if wet cleaning is not required.
- Roborock S6 Pure is an analogue of Roborock S5 Max if wet cleaning is not so important.
- Mijia G1 is the most budget-friendly model in the line, suitable only for small areas.
The S6 MaxV is undoubtedly the best Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaner of 2020. Not only is it equipped with every possible feature, but most importantly, thanks to its camera, it doesn't get tangled in wires, won't chew your socks while cleaning, and won't smear pet waste. It's also difficult to damage it while cleaning if there are any items left on the floor. Therefore, if we're talking about the best Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaner, it's the S6 MaxV. It even beat flagships from other companies in our comparison. detailed test.
But the S5 Max, at a much lower price, is practically equal in cleaning quality and functionality. Therefore, if an active camera for navigation and object detection isn't an important feature for you, I recommend choosing its predecessor. Incidentally, we've done a detailed comparison. Roborock S5 Max and S6 MaxV And in terms of cleaning quality, they are absolutely identical despite the difference in suction power. These are the two most advanced Xiaomi robots as of the end of November 2020.
The Mijia LDS is comparable to the S5 Max in many ways. The main differences are in the build quality and brush design, which are superior in the Roborock series, as well as the combined capacity of the dust collector and water tank. The LDS combines them into a single container, while the Roborock S5 Max has two separate tanks installed on opposite sides of the robot. This is a significant advantage. However, there is also a price difference, so if your budget doesn't allow for the S5 Max, the Mijia LDS is an excellent alternative at 30% less.
The Dreame F9 actually differs from the Mijia 1C only in its more powerful battery, resulting in longer runtime, and in its room-zoning feature. This is crucial, as it allows you to schedule cleaning in specific rooms at different times and days of the week. Despite the small price difference, these are significant advantages of this model. However, if these advantages aren't as important to you, for example, if you're choosing a robot vacuum for a small space, it might make sense to save a few dollars and buy the 1C. These robots are visually identical.
The Roborock E4 has worse navigation and a poorer wet cleaning performance, but it's better built and performed better during dry cleaning. However, because the robot doesn't map the room and can't set no-go zones, it's inferior to the Dreame F9, although overall it's slightly better than the 1C in cleaning quality. However, I still recommend using the latter two robots for cleaning small areas.
The Viomi V3 is also a very interesting robot, but it's practically identical to the Mijia LDS. It only beats the S5 Max with its slightly better mopping function. Overall, this isn't a significant factor, and the Viomi's build quality, like that of the Mijia, is inferior to the Roborock's, so this model may be more interesting only in certain respects. Overall, though, it's a very good robot for the price compared to competitors from other companies.
The 1S, despite its relatively low price for a robot with lidar, is an excellent option for dry cleaning of large areas only. It's probably even the best value for money in the Xiaomi lineup at the time of this ranking.
The S6 Pure is just a couple of dollars cheaper than the S5 Max, but its wet cleaning feature is significantly worse. Dry cleaning is just as good. If you're really looking to save a little money, you might want to choose this option. The build quality and consumables are the same, which is important. But again, if you only need dry cleaning, then the 1S probably makes more sense and saves a lot of money.
Although the G1 made it into this ranking, there's no real benefit to buying it. Its mapping is highly inaccurate, its functionality is weak, and the price difference with 1C is only $10-20. It makes more sense to increase your budget a little and choose a robot with more precise navigation and useful features. However, if you're choosing a robot vacuum for a small apartment or house and don't need additional functionality other than automatic cleaning, then it might not make sense to overpay for other robots. Especially if you find a good deal for around $100. For that price, it's the best robot vacuum on the market.
Which Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaner is best?
We've thoroughly reviewed the best Xiaomi robot vacuums of 2020. We've narrowed down the top 10 models out of 25, each offering its own unique appeal. Now, let's take a moment to consider which robot vacuum is best for different situations.
If you're only interested in dry cleaning and have a small area, I recommend choosing between the Mijia G1, 1C, Roborock E4, and the first-generation Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner, which is similarly priced but features lidar and delivers excellent cleaning results. If you're working on a larger area, consider the Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner, the updated 1S, and the Roborock S6 Pure. These are currently the best models for dry cleaning, excluding the S4 and S4 Max, which are difficult to find on the market.
If you need wet cleaning but have a small space, I recommend choosing between the Mijia G1 and 1C. I would still prefer the 1C. If the space is larger, then you should choose between the Dreame F9, Mijia LDS, Roborock S5 Max, S6 MaxV, and Viomi V3. The Roborock has the highest build quality and most accurate navigation, but it is also more expensive. The Viomi is better at cleaning floors, while the LDS and Dreame F9 are significantly cheaper due to their inferior build quality and slightly reduced functionality.

Could you recommend a robot for my apartment with a mirrored wall? I understand that a lidar sensor alone won't do, and the top-end ones don't have cameras, so I wasn't planning on buying a robot for 50,000 rubles.
What is the area of the apartment, the number of rooms, what floor is it, are there carpets?
Good afternoon
Could you please recommend a robot for an 85 sq. m (85 sq. m) apartment? The flooring consists of laminate, tile, and long-pile carpet. I need to dry and wet clean both floors (not simultaneously). I don't need to protect the carpet from getting wet, as it's small and can be easily removed for wet cleaning. However, I do need to have designated areas, as there's a height difference under the bed and the robot could get stuck. There are only two people in the apartment, no pets or children, and nothing is lying around on the floor. I want a basic model without unnecessary features.
I would be grateful for advice.
Good afternoon! If you're considering the Xiaomi line, I think the Mijia LDS makes sense. It'll be ideal for your needs.
Hello, could you please advise which robot is better: the Hobot Legee 688 or the Xiaomi Roborock S5? Besides vacuuming, I need good wet cleaning of tiles and grout. My apartment is 65 square meters, no thresholds, no carpets, and no pets.
Good afternoon! I like Roborock better, so I'd give him the preference!
Hello!
I recently heard that Xiaomi has started blocking devices in Russia that were released for the Chinese market. The blocking affects popular robotic vacuum cleaners and humidifiers.
Do you know anything about this? I want to buy an S5 Max, but I'm afraid I'll get blocked.
I'm leaning toward getting a robot (my shedding cat is driving me crazy), but I don't know if any can climb 2.2 cm thresholds. Are you familiar with such models? Or will I need to install some kind of "ramp" to get up? Thanks in advance.
Hello! It would be better to build a ramp. I recently saw a robot online with a claimed clearance of 22 mm, but I can't remember which one, and it's not guaranteed to be realistic. Usually, 20 mm is a tight fit, even for Xiaomi.
Could you please tell me what the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum-Mop Essential SKV4136GL is? There are no comparisons of this model. Is it better or worse than the G1? Or is it the same?
Apparently it's the same thing, just the markings are different.
Good afternoon !
Could you please tell me how reliable (calcification) the Roborock's electronic water dispenser valve is? Where can I read about how it works? I saw someone clicking the mechanical switch on the water tank with a cleaning cloth in one of the video reviews! Why is it needed if there's electronic flow control?
Hello! I haven't used it for a long time, so I can't comment on the calcification. A mechanical regulator is supposedly more reliable than an electronic one, at least that's what the distributors say.
I removed these valves (squeezed the foam out of the valves, so at least the water supply is adequate) roborock s5 sweep one.
Good afternoon.
The apartment is 47 square meters, the floors are linoleum, there are no carpets, but there are plans to have one in front of the sofa.
Please recommend a model with or without wet cleaning. Price/quality ratio.
Hello! The Mijia 1C is the best option. You might also want to consider models from other brands. I really liked the 360 C50 recently; a review will be up on my channel soon. It's a very powerful robot.
Good afternoon.
Please advise: 70 sq m is the first floor of a two-story house, there is a cat, children, laminate flooring, tiles, low-pile carpet, dry cleaning.
Thank you
Hello! I can't decide which robot to choose. My house is 80 square meters, mostly four rooms with linoleum flooring throughout and two rooms with carpet (medium pile). There are three people in the house, plus a small one coming soon, so I need dry and wet cleaning. I'm leaning more toward the S5 Max. Is it worth paying more or getting a more affordable option, like the Mijia LDS?
Good afternoon. Could you please tell me which model of the Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P (Black (SKV4109GL)) is this from your rating? 1C, 1S, 1G? Or is it a separate model? Is this model suitable for a 60 sq. m. apartment with one short-pile carpet? I don't have pets. I have a small child. I need daily dry and wet cleaning. It's currently at a very attractive price of 24,000 rubles. Thank you in advance.
Hello! In my ratings, this robot vacuum cleaner has an alternative name: Xiaomi Mijia LDS Vacuum Cleaner. It's the same model. The robot will certainly suit your needs; you won't have any problems. I also recommend checking out the Yeedi 2 Hybrid review. It's more powerful and, in my opinion, cleans floors better. And it costs 20,000 rubles. The review is also available on the website and channel.
Could you recommend a robot vacuum for a three-story house? I know I need one that stores multiple maps. But I'm also considering bringing it to one floor (or locking it in a room) and having it vacuum there (not necessarily mop)—that way, it won't remember anything and won't get too flustered in a new room. And it won't fall down the stairs. Schedule settings and remote start are optional. Thanks!
What is the cleaning area at each level?
Hello, please help me choose. My house is 130 sq. m., single-story, with tile and laminate flooring almost everywhere. My budget is about $200-$220. Which robotic vacuum should I choose? Xiaomi is my top choice, although that's not critical.
Hello! For this price, the only option is the Dreame D9. Or you could go a little beyond your budget and get the Dreame L10 Pro.
Hello! This review was helpful, thank you! Please help me choose. My apartment is 70 square meters, and the floors are oak parquet, over 80 years old, varnished. We have two small rugs, and, most importantly, two Maine Coons. I'd like a robot with a wet cleaning function, but we're not ready to spend a lot of money. I'm considering an LDS, but will it be enough for us?
Dreame D9 would be better then)
Thanks for the great article/review!
Please update the links. Many of them are no longer working.
Good afternoon
Help me choose the right model.
House, 1st floor, 100 m2, child, cat, tiles, laminate, 2 medium pile carpets.
Important features:
- good spatial orientation and obstacle avoidance (there are plenty of them)
— dry cleaning quality is a priority (wet cleaning is a bonus)
- setting up restricted areas - cat bowls, computer wires...
- quality/reliability of the robot vacuum cleaner!!!
I'm considering the following models: Roborock E5, Dream D9, Mi Robot 1S (maybe there is a more suitable model)
You need a reliable vacuum cleaner with good dry cleaning performance and no unnecessary bells and whistles. Experience shows that you only use them for the first month, and then only use the basic functions.
Thank you!
Hello! I would recommend the Dreame Bot D9 Max or L10 Pro. They are more powerful and better.
Hello, could you please tell me which vacuum cleaner is better, the Dreame F9 or the Mijia LDS Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P? My area is 75 square meters, and I don't have any laminate or carpet. I'm only interested in these robot models. Thanks in advance for your reply.
I would take Mijia)
