I received the Tineco Floor One S3 cordless wet/dry vacuum cleaner for review. I haven't tested this type of equipment before, so I have nothing to compare it to, so my opinion will be based on my tests and my overall impressions after using it for a week. What's worth mentioning right away is that the Tineco Floor One S3 can mop floors, self-clean at the station, and even be controlled via a mobile app. And all this comes at a price of around $300. So, let's find out how well this wet/dry vacuum cleaner performs and whether it's worth the money!

Configurations

As per tradition, let's first look at the package contents. The Tineco Floor One S3 arrived in this branded box:

Appearance

Now let's take a look at the Tineco Floor One S3's design. The most important thing to note is the two tanks: one for clean water and one for dirty water. The clean water tank holds 600 ml of liquid, while the second tank, despite its visually large size, holds only 500 ml of dirty water. The maximum dirty water level mark is located approximately halfway inside the tank.

Let's see how both tanks are constructed.

Each one has a convenient carrying handle. The clean water tank has a lid with a leak-proof valve. It also includes instructions for proper use of the detergent.

The dirty water tank also includes a brief instruction manual. The manufacturer allows the filtration system, including the HEPA filter, to be washed, but be sure to dry it completely before installation.

The HEPA filter is additionally equipped with a mesh for pre-filtration.

The top of the tank features a lid with a float. The flask contains an additional filter that traps large debris.

Now let's look at the roller's design. It's easily removed for cleaning when needed. The build quality is good. An additional transparent cover allows you to visually assess the roller's condition while cleaning.

The handle has three mechanical buttons: self-cleaning, power adjustment, and power on/off. On the back of the body, there's a button for connecting the vacuum to a Wi-Fi network. I'll explain its purpose a little later.

The LED display deserves special attention. It's quite large and informative, which is a plus.

Functional capabilities

Let's move on to an overview of the Tineco Floor One S3's features. First, let me explain why this cordless vacuum cleaner needs a mobile app. When connected to your smartphone, you can monitor the clean and dirty water tank's full state, the battery's remaining charge, turn voice alerts on and off, and manually adjust the suction power and water flow rate during cleaning. Incidentally, the Tineco Floor One S3 supports Russian.

You can also use the app to initiate the vacuum's self-cleaning process and, if needed, select maximum or automatic cleaning mode. In my opinion, handheld vacuums don't really need an app, and you can basically view and adjust almost everything without connecting to a smartphone. The only exception is adjusting the power and water flow level. The button on the vacuum's body only selects one of two cleaning modes, and more flexible settings are only available via the smartphone, but that's not particularly important. The automatic mode basically does everything for you.

Among the key features of the Tineco Floor One S3, it's worth noting the automatic power boost when detecting heavy dirt on the floor. The robot is equipped with a special optical sensor. When dirt passes through it, it recognizes that the area requires a deeper clean and increases power to maximum. At this point, the display backlight changes from blue to red. Accordingly, when the flow of dirt stops, the vacuum cleaner recognizes that the cleaning area is not too dirty and reduces power.

The vacuum cleaner also features automatic self-cleaning at the station. After cleaning, fill the clean water tank and empty the dirty water from the secondary tank, then activate the self-cleaning function. The vacuum cleaner will first clean the roller brush under running water, then rinse the dirt channel. After this, the Tineco Floor One S3 will automatically detect the status and notify you that the self-cleaning cycle is complete. The self-cleaning process takes approximately two minutes.

It's also worth noting that the vacuum cleaner charges on its base. It contains charging contacts that, when the main unit is installed, connect to terminals on the body. This charging method is more convenient than manually connecting the charger to the vacuum cleaner's port each time.

Lastly, I'd like to point out that the Tineco Floor One S3 supports vertical parking. This is very convenient, as when you need to service the containers or the central brush, simply move the vacuum cleaner to the vertical position, and it will automatically stay on the floor.

Testing

A detailed video review with all the tests has been prepared and published on our channel. We recommend watching the video:

Now that we've covered the features, I'll show you what the Tineco Floor One S3 can do. First, a light test with a small amount of debris on the tiles, which equates to daily gentle cleaning to keep your house or apartment clean:

Daily cleaningDaily cleaning

Daily cleaning

As you can see, the vacuum cleaner collected a small amount of debris from the floor, washed the tiles and left no streaks.

I'll make the task more challenging and sprinkle sand on the tiles. It can handle even that kind of mess.

Let's make the test even more challenging. Imagine you dropped a raw egg on the floor. Surely you remember how inconvenient it is to pick up the remains and clean everything up afterwards? And I've also spilled some flour and some debris.

Washing floors from liquid stains

The Tineco Floor One S3 was able to pick up all that mess, even with an eggshell, from the floor. Because the tiles were laid slightly unevenly, there was some dirt left near the grout, but on smooth, even surfaces, such as laminate or linoleum, the cleaning performance will be perfect.

And now the most difficult test: removing dried stains from the floor. For the test, I spilled coffee and sauce on the laminate flooring and walked around in dirty shoes. I left it all for 24 hours, then added a branded detergent to the water tank and tried to scrub away the stains.

Removing dried stainsRemoving dried stains

Removing dried stains

As you can see, only a few minor stains remained, deeply embedded in the floor and difficult to remove by hand. But overall, the cleaning performance is very high, even though this machine is designed for everyday wet cleaning and is unlikely to be used on such heavy stains in a home environment.

The only caveat is that the Tineco Floor One S3 doesn't clean a small section of the floor along the baseboard due to its design. This is important to keep in mind.

The edge doesn't wash awayThe edge doesn't wash away

The edge doesn't wash away

Now, let me tell you how the self-cleaning system works after all the tests. I drained the dirty water, filled the second tank with clean water, and turned on the self-cleaning system after all the tests. After self-cleaning, the water in the tank wasn't that dirty. This indicates that the vacuum cleaner removes dirt effectively during the floor cleaning process and thoroughly rinses the cleaning module with clean water. Self-cleaning is needed mainly to remove residual dirt from the system.

The final test is noise level measurements. In automatic mode, it doesn't exceed 71.5 dB, while at maximum power, the noise level can reach 73.5 dB. This isn't particularly loud. Some handheld vacuum cleaners exceed 80 dB.

Noise levelNoise level

Noise level

I didn't test the battery life. All tests were performed on a single battery charge, so it's definitely good for more than 20 minutes of use. Furthermore, the water consumption is so high that you won't be able to drain the battery on a single tank. In turbo mode, the water will drain in 5-6 minutes, and in automatic mode, it'll last 20 minutes at best, assuming a flow rate of 30 to 100 ml per minute.

Let's sum it up

The Tineco Floor One S3 was thoroughly reviewed and tested. Since this is my first cordless wet/dry vacuum, it's difficult to evaluate it objectively without comparing it to similar products. However, I can say that it's an interesting product and definitely worth considering if you're choosing a wet/dry vacuum for your home or apartment.

Among the advantages I can highlight:

  1. High-quality assembly and ergonomic design.
  2. High quality floor washing.
  3. The presence of an informative display on the body.
  4. Convenient charging at the station.
  5. Good equipment.
  6. Self-cleaning at the station.
  7. Automatic detection of dirt on the floor.
  8. Vertical parking.
  9. Capacious battery.

I have no criticisms of the Tineco Floor One S3, again because it's a new type of equipment for me and I have nothing to compare it to. The main issue is that it still leaves a small, narrow area along the baseboard uncleaned. Another criticism is that I'd probably like the ability to manually adjust the suction power and water flow rate without a smartphone.

But in any case, I liked this washing vacuum cleaner, and I can recommend it for purchase.

On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
