Roborock S7: A robot vacuum cleaner that can lift up carpets and clean itself

Roborock S7 photoRoborock S7 photo

Hello everyone! I've finally received the long-awaited Roborock S7 flagship for review. It went on sale at the end of March 2021. Just a couple of weeks ago, this robot vacuum cleaner went on sale in Russia, and the Russian-language version arrived in our test room. We've been testing it under various conditions since then, to fully explore its new features. Looking ahead, I can say that the robot pleasantly surprised me in many ways, some of which were downright unexpected, so I recommend reading the review carefully from start to finish!

What's new?

First, let me briefly tell you what has changed in the Roborock S7.

The first major upgrade is a redesigned central brush made of thermoplastic polyurethane. The new design reduces hair and fur tangling, making cleaning the robot more comfortable.

Updated central brushUpdated central brush

Updated central brush

The second, more important upgrade is the new, unique VibraRise technology, which literally translates as "vibration" and "lift." The cleaning pad is now capable of vibrating up to 3,000 times per minute, allowing for tougher stains to be removed from floors. When driving onto carpets or docking with the charging station, the cleaning pad platform also raises by approximately 5 mm to prevent damage to the flooring from excess moisture.

And finally, the Roborock S7 optionally supports a self-cleaning base. This is the first robot vacuum cleaner in Roborock line, which can self-clean on its base. Unfortunately, the self-cleaning station isn't available yet, and the robot is sold with a standard charging base. But at least it will be available for purchase separately later.

So, all these innovations make the Roborock S7 one of the best robot vacuums of the first half of 2021. We, in turn, want to understand how much these updates have actually improved the robot's capabilities and cleaning performance. Let's take it one step at a time.

Equipment

The robot vacuum cleaner arrived in a branded box like this:

Robot and boxRobot and box

Robot and box

It comes complete with:

  1. Charging base. It has brushes installed in front of the terminals, which clean the contact pads on the robot each time it enters the base.
  2. Power adapter.
  3. Wet cleaning nozzle with a microfiber cloth installed.
  4. Operating instructions and a guide to connecting the robot to the network (Russian translation is provided).

Equipment

This is the entire package. It's quite sparse. There are no spare parts or accessories.

By the way, this robot vacuum cleaner already has a self-cleaning station; we recommend checking out the review:

Appearance

Now let's take a look at the robot vacuum cleaner itself. The white model we reviewed is more practical, and I think this color scheme is more practical. The lid also shows fingerprints and scratches less easily.

Top viewTop view

Top view

The first thing you'll notice is the indicator light in front of the control panel. It glows different colors depending on the robot's status. For example, when cleaning, the indicator light is blue, and when charging, it's green. It looks quite stylish.

Control panel and indicatorControl panel and indicator

Control panel and indicator

The control panel contains 3 mechanical buttons: forced return to the charging base, start/pause, and local cleaning mode.

The mechanical bumper has a wall sensor on the right side and an obstacle detection sensor in the center. Unfortunately, this model doesn't include an active camera, but similar navigation will be implemented in the updated Roborock T7s, which is likely to be released by the end of the year.

The dust collector is located under the top cover. Next to it, you'll find the Wi-Fi connection indicator and a factory reset button.

Dust collector placementDust collector placement

Dust collector placement

Here's an interesting point: the robot itself has an air inlet cover that will need to be opened if the self-cleaning station is installed.

Air inlet coverAir inlet cover

Air inlet cover

Let's return to the dust container. It states that the container and filter can be washed with water, but it's important to dry all parts thoroughly before installing them in the robot. There's no protective shutter. The exhaust vent for purified air is located on the side, just below the top. The HEPA filter has also been relocated. It's now at the top. This placement has one important advantage: the robot vacuum's suction power won't decrease as the container fills with dirt. The filtration system is based solely on the HEPA filter, which isn't ideal. At least a mesh screen could have been added in front of the filter.

Dust collectorDust collector

Dust collector

And here's an important point: the dust container itself has a solid side wall that should mate with the robot's inlet, hidden behind the lid. You'll likely need to purchase a special dust container when purchasing the self-cleaning station, or it might come with one already, which is highly unlikely. We'll find out soon enough. The dust container has a capacity of up to 470 ml.

The water tank is installed at the same time as the waste container, but it is located at the back.

A water tank and a dust collector are installed at the same time.A water tank and a dust collector are installed at the same time.

It can be removed by pressing a button. Its appearance has also changed slightly. We can see that there's no pump inside; it's installed inside the robot itself, and the tank only has a tube.

Water tankWater tank

Water tank

When you open the fill valve, you'll see an additional mesh inside that prevents debris or other solid particles from entering the water supply system, which is a plus. The tank itself holds up to 300 ml of water.

Now let's look at the Roborock S7's underside. It has six anti-fall sensors. A carpet detection sensor is located at the front. There's a single side brush. It's an updated design—silicone, five-pointed. In the center, we see the new turbo brush. The blades are quite flexible and well-made. The brush can be removed from both sides to remove hair and pet hair.

And here's the platform with the cloth. The cloth, as before, is attached with Velcro and a groove. In the center of the platform, we see a moving part that vibrates. The moving area is not very large, so we'll further examine the effectiveness of this solution in our tests. The cloth itself, however, has become much more dense.

Platform and napkinPlatform and napkin

Platform and napkin

An important point I was asked to check was whether the silicone brush could be replaced with the bristle-petal brush found in all other Roborock robots. The brush fits into the slots, and its length hasn't changed. However, the bristles themselves are longer, making it difficult to rotate. During my tests, I'll demonstrate the difference in cleaning performance between each brush.

Replaceable central brushesReplaceable central brushes

Replaceable central brushes

It's also worth noting that the Roborock S7 self-cleans through the main suction port, so there's a fairly large gap between the brush and the nozzle. This has its advantages, which I'll discuss during the tests.

Overall, I have no complaints about this robot's design. It's very well assembled, and every detail is meticulously designed. Let's move on.

Technical specifications

The main characteristics of the Roborock S7, as stated by the manufacturer:

  • Li-Ion battery 5200 mAh.
  • Suction power up to 2500 Pa.
  • Operating time up to 180 min.
  • Cleaning area up to 250 sq.m.
  • Dust collector capacity is 470 ml.
  • The water tank capacity is 300 ml.
  • Obstacle clearance up to 20 mm.
  • Dimensions: 350*97 mm.

In terms of characteristics, unfortunately, nothing much has changed.

Functional capabilities

The Roborock S7 can be controlled via both Mi Home and the proprietary Roborock mobile app. I found no differences in functionality between the apps, and I encountered no connection issues.

As an example, I will demonstrate the functionality of the Roborock application.

On the main control panel, the robot has created a map and automatically divided it into rooms. In the settings section, the first option is map management. The Roborock S7 can, of course, store multiple unique maps in its memory. In the vacuum cleaner's settings, you can change the robot's name, disable indicator lights, lock the buttons to prevent children or pets from accidentally pressing them, set up a "do not disturb" mode, and select area units.

Roborock FeaturesRoborock Features

Roborock Features

There's a separate section for carpet cleaning settings. We'll cover this section in detail now, as it's both interesting and important. The very first option asks you to enable automatic power boost when driving on carpets, which I highly recommend.

Carpet cleaning settingsCarpet cleaning settings

Carpet cleaning settings

Below is a feature related to the new VibraRise lifting platform. The "Auto-Carpet" mode automatically lifts the cleaning pad when a carpet is detected. Here's how it works:

Car carpetCar carpet

Car carpet

When the robot detects a carpet, it lifts the cleaning cloth, moves around the perimeter of the carpet, detecting its edges, and then cleans the carpet inside the perimeter. The Roborock S7 then moves off the carpet and wet-and-dry vacuums the entire accessible area with the platform lowered to the floor. In my test room, the carpet is medium-pile, and the height of the cleaning cloth does indeed provide clearance between the wet cleaning cloth and the carpet. As a result, after each robot pass, the carpet is dry and free of debris. Wow!

The second mode is called "Carpet Avoidance." It's recommended if you have very fluffy carpets in your home and the cleaning cloth isn't high enough to provide clearance. In this mode, when the robot detects a carpet, it again carefully circles it, but with the cleaning cloth lowered to the floor. As a result, the Roborock S7 will dry and wet clean the entire accessible area except for carpets. These areas will remain untouched, eliminating the need to set no-go zones for wet cleaning, as was previously the case.

Avoid carpetsAvoid carpets

Avoid carpets

And the third, rather strange mode is called "Carpet Vibration." In this mode, the Roborock S7 completely ignores carpets during both dry and wet cleaning, moving across them with the cleaning cloth lowered. The purpose of this isn't entirely clear.

Vibration on the carpetVibration on the carpet

Vibration on the carpet

In addition, the robotic vacuum cleaner marks carpets on the map as objects, and you can remove them from the map or change the size of the areas with carpets if desired.

Let's return to an overview of the remaining features. You can adjust the volume of voice alerts and select their language. The Russian version of the Roborock S7 speaks Russian. In the scheduled cleaning settings, you can select the time, days of the week, cleaning mode, desired rooms, and even select a suitable map.

You can also send the robot to a specific point on the map for spot cleaning, switch to manual control mode, view the cleaning log, monitor the status of consumables, and update the firmware if necessary. I immediately installed the latest version. You can also share control with other users and enable the robot vacuum to be found by sound.

Let's return to the main control panel. Here you can choose one of three main cleaning modes: automatic cleaning of the entire available area, selection of specific rooms to clean and the number of passes per room (from 1 to 3), and selection of cleaning zones on the map and the corresponding number of passes per zone.

Operating modesOperating modes

In map mode, you can set virtual walls, general no-go zones, and specific no-go zones for wet cleaning mode.

Setting up no-go zones

You can edit rooms, combining several into one or vice versa, dividing a room into separate zones. You can also name each room if needed. You can also customize the cleaning order and even select a custom cleaning mode for each room. This is a big plus.

Individual settingsIndividual settings

Well, you can manually adjust the desired suction power and the degree of wetting of the cloth, as well as select the cleaning mode called "Intensive," in which the Roborock S7 performs only wet cleaning with vibration.

Adjusting the power and water supply level

This is the full functionality of the app, and it can be said that it has all the basic features for controlling the robot vacuum cleaner and setting the optimal cleaning mode.

For some reason, this robot vacuum isn't currently listed when connecting to Yandex.Alice, but I suspect this will change soon, or maybe something's just wrong in my case. All functions are duplicated in the Mi Home app.

Testing

A detailed video review and test of the Roborock S7 has already been prepared and published on our channel. You can watch it:

All tests are reviewed below in text form.

Navigation

First, let's test the Roborock S7's navigation in a room with obstacles. The robot vacuum first navigates the room's perimeter, then switches to a serpentine pattern to clean the entire accessible area. The dryer's legs presented no problems, and the robot was able to clean around the box and each chair leg separately. After completing the cleaning cycle, the robot returned to its base.

Navigating within a roomNavigating within a room

Navigating within a room

For whole-house navigation, the "Auto Carpet" mode was selected because the living room and bedroom have medium-pile carpets. They're fluffy, so to speak. The Roborock S7 cleans room by room, first along the perimeter, then in a zigzag pattern. When it detects a carpet, it first cleans the carpet itself with its platform raised. This slightly slows down cleaning speed, but it eliminates the need to run the robot twice for wet cleaning and a separate dry cleaning on the carpets. Ultimately, the robot vacuum cleaned 32 square meters of usable space in 37 minutes, while similar robots take 25-30 minutes.

Navigation within the homeNavigation within the home

Navigation within the home

But I've already explained the reasons, and speaking of navigation, it's at a very high level. There are no missed spots, the floor is washed, the carpets are dry and clean. The test was successful!

Suction power

But the most surprising part of the testing for me was the suction power test. This is what the setup looks like in its initial state:

Suction power test standSuction power test stand

Suction power test stand

During the tests, I heard increased noise during operation and realized that the new brush structure could have a positive impact on the quality of suction from crevices. But the results were very surprising. The Roborock S7 was able to suction debris from crevices up to 10 mm deep, comparable to the most powerful robot vacuums we tested, which claimed 3000-4000 Pa. As a reminder, the Roborock S7 claims 2500 Pa, just like S6 MaxV, which was only able to suck out debris from a 2 mm gap.

Suction power

If this robot vacuum cleaner had arrived a little earlier, it would have definitely taken the lead.A ranking of the most powerful robot vacuum cleaners of 2021The test was successful. The result is amazing!

Dry cleaning of laminate flooring

Now let's test how the Roborock S7 handles dry debris on laminate floors. We scattered dust, pet hair, small household debris, and even cat litter and food on the test bench. The robot vacuum easily picked up all the debris, leaving only a little dust in the corners. Another positive is that the robot also picks up larger debris, such as cat litter. The brush doesn't get blocked, as there's plenty of clearance between it and the suction nozzle for self-cleaning. That's a plus.

Dry cleaning of laminate flooringDry cleaning of laminate flooring

Dry cleaning of laminate flooring

Regarding the condition of the dust container and brushes, most of the debris, including pet hair and fur, is collected in the container. Only a small amount of hair is tangled around the central brush, which is easily cleaned.

Condition of the silicone brushCondition of the silicone brush

Condition of the silicone brush

Incidentally, it's important to note that this robot no longer comes with a blade and brush for cleaning the dust bin and central brush. In my opinion, it would have been useful anyway.

Now let's check how the bristle-petal brush, which was installed in previous models, performs in the same test. The condition of the stand is the same – no debris remains. Now let's look at the brush:

Condition of the bristle-petal brushCondition of the bristle-petal brush

Condition of the bristle-petal brush

And this is what I was talking about at the beginning. The bristles are larger in diameter, which makes it difficult for the brush to move freely, meaning the debris has nowhere to go; it simply gets clogged between the brush sections. This is completely unacceptable.

I don't recommend replacing the brush with a bristle-and-petal brush, although it's suitable. Perhaps you could experiment and manually trim the bristles evenly by about a millimeter to make the brush diameter smaller. Perhaps then it will be more effective at drawing debris into the suction hole. If anyone has tried this or will try it, please share your experiences in the comments. I'd be grateful!

Cleaning the carpet

We put the original updated brush back and check the cleaning quality on the carpet with the same debris.

Cleaning the carpetCleaning the carpet

Cleaning the carpet

The Roborock S7 cleans carpets well. The increased suction power certainly plays a role. But in my opinion, the older version of the bristle-petal brush is still better for cleaning carpets. The difference is subtle, but it's there.

Wet cleaning

There will be two tests here. First, a standard test: how well the robot vacuum cleaner removes slightly dried dirt from the floor. It performed well on this task. Only a small strip remained along the baseboard, which none of the robot vacuum cleaners we tested were able to remove due to their design features.

Wiping off dirtWiping off dirt

Wiping off dirt

Now let's test the effectiveness of the vibrating module itself. Sauce and coffee were spilled on the stand, and the stains took 24 hours to dry. And here, the robot left me with mixed feelings.

Roborock's tough stain removalRoborock's tough stain removal

Firstly, the wheelbase is not suitable for work in such conditions, unlike specialized ones robotic floor polishers The robot is tracked. The wheels get clogged with sauce and simply slip, preventing the robot from moving in a smooth, serpentine pattern to effectively clean the entire area. See for yourself how the robot looks after a few passes:

Condition after removing stainsCondition after removing stains

Condition after removing stains

Secondly, even if you periodically manually clean the wheels and swivel roller to allow the robot to continue cleaning, the vibrating platform itself doesn't produce the expected results. It took 20 minutes of passes for the robot to remove the stains. Meanwhile, floor cleaning robots complete the task after just two or three passes. This is what I mentioned in the product overview – the moving section is quite small, and the vibration amplitude isn't comparable to floor cleaning robots, so using this robot vacuum cleaner for such purposes is pointless.

I even decided to check additionally how to cope with such a task Viomi S9, which was also released in 2021 and claims to be one of the best.

Removing difficult stains with ViomiRemoving difficult stains with Viomi

Removing difficult stains with Viomi

So, with a regular cloth and a fixed attachment, he scrubbed the same stains off the stand faster. It took him just under 10 minutes. It's also not comparable to robotic mops, but this proves that the vibrating platform isn't superior in efficiency and is more of a marketing ploy at the moment.

It's possible that in certain situations these vibrations do improve cleaning performance, but I can't confirm that at this time.

Simultaneous dry and wet cleaning

I'll also show you how the Roborock S7 vacuums and mops the floor at the same time. No complaints, the cleaning quality is truly excellent. Test passed!

Simultaneous dry and wet cleaningSimultaneous dry and wet cleaning

Simultaneous dry and wet cleaning

Obstacle clearance

Now let's check the height of obstacles the Roborock S7 can overcome. It has some minor issues with maneuverability, even without an attachment installed. It can easily navigate a 15mm threshold, but it struggles with 20mm thresholds, which isn't ideal.

Obstacle clearanceObstacle clearance

Obstacle clearance

Previous Roborock robots had better maneuverability. However, with the wet cleaning platform installed, it can't even cross a 15mm threshold, like other robot vacuums, because the platform gets caught on the obstacle. This is important to keep in mind.

Driving on dark surfaces

Roborock still has issues with navigating dark surfaces. It recognizes a black rug as a height difference, even though the sensors don't immediately detect the dark color, and in some cases, the robot can even navigate through the rug. However, for some reason, it starts circling, as if around a chair leg, and sometimes backs up. So, while the issue isn't completely resolved, it's better than before.

Driving on dark surfacesDriving on dark surfaces

Noise level

Finally, we measured the Roborock S7's noise level in different modes. At minimum power, the noise level was between 62-64 dB, in medium mode it could reach 67 dB, in Turbo mode the noise level reached 71 dB, and at maximum power, the peak was 74 dB.

Noise levelNoise level

Noise level

Yes, this robot vacuum cleaner is quite noisy, but this is primarily due to the high suction power, so there are no particular complaints.

Let's sum it up

The Roborock S7 was thoroughly reviewed and tested. And, in my opinion, it was not without reason that it was chosen as the number one choice. ranking of the best robot vacuum cleaners of 2021, the link to which is posted in the description of the video. our evaluation system he was able to dial 136 points.

Overall rating of robot vacuum cleaners tested on robovac.washerhouse.com: https://robovac.washerhouse.com/en/rejtingi/robovac-obshhij-rejting-robotov-pylesosov-robo.html.

Now I'll express my personal opinion of this robot vacuum cleaner after thoroughly examining and testing it. I definitely liked the following:

  1. Good navigation based on lidar.
  2. High suction power.
  3. The lifting mechanism of the cloth makes it possible to simultaneously dry and wet clean different surfaces in a single cleaning cycle without any problems.
  4. The updated central brush is better at removing tangled hair and fur.
  5. High build quality.
  6. Thoughtful design with a dust collector and water tank installed at the same time.
  7. All advanced functionality in the application.
  8. Good quality dry and wet cleaning.
  9. Brand reliability.
  10. Coming soon self-cleaning base.

As for the disadvantages, it is worth highlighting:

  1. The vibrating platform has not been proven effective.
  2. The robot vacuum cleaner is afraid of dark surfaces.
  3. Obstacle clearance has become slightly worse.
  4. The self-cleaning base is not yet on sale and there is no idea when it will be available.

Overall, the shortcomings aren't very significant and are more of a criticism. One of them is the fact that they decided not to install an active camera on the mechanical bumper for now, but will add it to a new model that will be released later. If this robot also had an object recognition feature, in my opinion, it would be the best and most versatile robot vacuum cleaner for both dry and wet cleaning.

But in any case, for its price, the robot is very interesting for those who choose robot vacuum cleaner for dry and wet cleaningIf you have carpets at home, the Roborock S7 is a great option. The mop's lifting mechanism takes the robot vacuum cleaner market to a new level, which I'm sure will continue to grow rapidly in the coming years.

For those who can't decide between the Roborock S7 and what I consider its only serious competitor, the ECOVACS Deebot T9 AIVI, which features a self-cleaning base, an active camera for object recognition, and a host of other useful features, I suggest starting a crowdfunding campaign among subscribers to purchase this robot vacuum or other interesting ones. If we raise the required amount, I'll order the ECOVACS Deebot T9 AIVI and create a similar review and a detailed comparison so you can finally decide which robot vacuum is best for you. After all, the price tag for each of them, including the base, is around $1,000, so you need to be sure you choose the best option. I've included a link to the fundraising campaign in the description of the video review, which is posted above on this page.

On this note, I'd like to end this review. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!

    And the s7 max
Or when is the T7s with 3D planned for sale in our regions? Any information?

  • Dmitry

    Good afternoon.
I was considering the Hobot Leege 7, but after the release of the Roborock 7, I had doubts. My apartment isn't very dusty, there are no pets, and the only carpet is a small rug in the bathroom. What would you recommend?

    • Admin

Are there thresholds between the rooms or is the floor perfectly level? If there aren't, I think Ligi would be more interesting, and if wet cleaning is your priority, that's a good idea.

      • Dmitry

The thresholds are 2-4 mm at most, no more. The floors are level, tile/parquet. The priority is high-quality cleaning with a minimum of "difficulties" (like the inconvenience of removing hair from the brushes). In any case, I'll set the wet cleaning mode every time I use it. Judging by the reviews, the Ligi cleans and washes well, and the navigation is excellent. And the Roborock is attractive because of its potential self-cleaning station, although the water will still need to be changed or topped up after each cleaning.

  • Julia

Good afternoon. Need help choosing a robot vacuum cleaner model? My apartment is 81 square meters. There are 3 carpets, no thresholds, and no pets.

  • Hope

Hello. We also can't decide on a robot vacuum cleaner. Our apartment is 70 square meters.
Cork floors without thresholds or carpets, two cats. We're currently deciding between the Roborock S7 (the best) and the S6 maxV (its camera is really appealing), or should we wait for the new T7S? 😅

    • Admin

I would wait for the new product) Although if there are no carpets, the S6 MaxV is also possible, it just won’t have a self-cleaning base.

  • Irina

    Hello.
Is there a comparison between Roborock S7 and S5 Max?
    Which one will be better?
It's not clear from the tests whether the s5, at a power of 2000 Pa, removes dust better than the s7?
Please advise which of these models to choose.

    • Admin

Hello! The Roborock S7 is definitely more powerful, and therefore offers better dry cleaning performance. However, the S5 Max's center brush is better at picking up pet hair from carpets. The S7's brush is better suited for hard floors.

    • Angelica

      Hello)
Please recommend which robot to choose (I have 3 rooms, and also a large carpet. I don’t have pets). I’m choosing between the S5 Max, S6 Max and S7, otherwise I’m completely confused with the choice.

      • Admin

Well, if you want a robot that self-cleans and vacuums your carpet effectively without getting it wet, then go for the S7. If you don't have pets, then you don't need the S6 MaxV. I think the choice is obvious.

  • Tatiana

    Hello!
Please tell me which robot vacuum cleaner to choose in the price range up to 50 thousand rubles.
I would like both wet and dry cleaning

Hello, could you please tell me which is better, the Roborock S7 or the Dreamy L10s Pro? I don't have carpets, I have pets, and the area is 100 square meters. And does the L10s Pro have a camera connection? Thank you.

    • Michael

Good day. I've looked through all your reviews and am completely unsure. Please help me decide.
I need a robot with a self-cleaning station, and I can't decide between the Roborock S7 (the station itself isn't available for sale, and I'm not sure when it will be available or how much it will cost) and the ECOVACS Deebot T9 AIVI (I'm also confused by the lack of availability, the wait time (I want to buy it now), and the availability of service in Russia).
The thresholds are not large, the flooring is tiled and laminated. A dog (smooth-haired), a small child.

      • Admin

Hello! I think if you don't have carpets, it's better to go with the Ecovacs. The Roborock S7's main feature is its ability to lift the cleaning pad on carpets. The station is now available for purchase; I've even ordered one for myself and am finishing my review. If you're interested, I can sell you my S7 with the self-cleaning station after the review.

  • Michael

    Hello!
Please recommend which one to choose between the S6MaxV and the S7. I have tile floors, no carpets at the moment, and three rooms. I have three cats and a dog in the house, and I'm looking for a hybrid robot vacuum mainly for them.

    • Admin

If your pets are litter-trained, you might want to consider the S7. It's more powerful, the brush removes hair and fur better, and it has a self-cleaning feature. But if any of your pets are prone to misbehavior, the S6 MaxV is definitely worth considering.

      • Michael

        Thanks for your quick reply!
On the one hand, pets are quite well-behaved. On the other, self-cleaning isn't particularly interesting. The important thing is which device handles hair best and which roller is best for it. Wet cleaning—stains of sauce, coffee, etc.—are not expected. The conversation is mainly about paw prints and water droplets on dusty tiles.

        Thank you

        • Admin

Well, they do an equally good job with hair, but the S7's brush cleans a little better. You can also wait for my review of the Ecovacs Deebot OZMO T9 AIVI Plus; it's on its way to review. It has a dual brush, like the iRobot, and should have better wet cleaning. I think the review will be out in mid- to late October.

  • Vasily

Thanks for the article and resource!

I'm looking for a vacuum cleaner with powerful suction and high-quality wet cleaning. I'm deciding between the Roborock S7 and the Hobot LEGEE 7. What's the main difference between them? Which one is better for me? There are no thresholds or pets.

  • Anna

Hello. Please help me choose a vacuum cleaner. I have a small child, so everything (food and drinks) falls off the table. We don't have pets, but I have long hair. There are no carpets, the floor is tiled, and there's a 2-4 mm threshold. I'm considering the Roborock s7 and the Viaomi s9. I might consider other options. Thank you in advance for your reply.

  • Stepan

Hello, I bought a Roborock S7. When I installed the voice assistant on the vacuum, I noticed the Russian language wasn't available. How can I manually update the vacuum to Russian? And where can I download the firmware?

  • Irina

Good afternoon! Could you please tell me if the Roborock S7 with a self-cleaning station is currently available for purchase in Russia? And what is the price? Thank you.

  • Evgeny

Good afternoon. I'm deciding between this vacuum cleaner and the Tefal 95 series. The Tefal is $100 more expensive in my city than the S7, but the Tefal's camera and included accessories are attractive, as is its more comprehensive service. My main use is to clean up cat litter on linoleum and vacuum carpet.

  • Alexey

Good afternoon! I have a two-room apartment, 50 sq m, and a litter-trained cat. The flooring is laminate and tile throughout, no carpets, and self-cleaning isn't a priority. Wet cleaning is as much a priority as dry cleaning. I have a couple of 2 mm thresholds. Any advice on what would be best?

  • Alexey

Hello! I bought an S7, but it doesn't have a Russian language. Can you advise me what to do?

  • Ilya

    Good afternoon.
So, how is the S7 better than the Viomi S9? It's just that the S7 with the station is much more expensive. The Viomi floor cleaning, despite the lack of vibration, is also top-notch, with a base included, etc. I couldn't find any clear comparisons between the two models. Thanks.

  • Elena

I bought this marvel of technology. My feelings are mixed so far. But before this, I was given an iRobot 980 to use for a month. The S7 was disappointing with low-pile carpets. It vacuums them very poorly compared to the 980. I even marked the carpet as bleached after cleaning, and it still barely looks clean.

  • Sergey

I heard that Hiomi has a new robot with ultrasonic wet cleaning and a sideways-motion wiper (imitating hands). Is this the Roborock S7?

  • Admin

Good afternoon, Roborock S7, this is the first robot in our house, so we have nothing to compare it to, but we're happy so far. Thanks to the site's author for the reviews; everything is objective! The only question left is where to get consumables: HEPA filter, silicone brushes, and a damp cloth. Thanks in advance and Happy New Year 2022.

    • Admin

Hello! Thank you, and happy holidays to you too! You can buy it on AliExpress or from official distributors, like Lamobile, if you're from Russia.

  • George

I'm deciding between the S7 and the AIRROBO T10+. Any recommendations?

  • Sergey

I only have 70 m2 of laminate flooring. Which of the four cleaning robots (Hiomi and Roborock) should I choose based on cleaning performance? Roborock S7, Viomi S9, Roborock S5, or Roborock S6.

    • Admin

Hello! I wouldn't choose any of the vacuum cleaners on this list for your needs. You might be better off considering the Roborock S5 Max, Xiaomi Mijia Vacuum Cleaner Pro, and Dreame Bot L10 Pro.

      • Sergky

I understand the Roborock S5 Max is the best. Is the Xiaomi Mijia Vacuum Cleaner Pro slightly worse?

        • Admin

Mijia has better navigation and wet cleaning. Roborock is slightly more reliable and is sold in local stores.

          • Sergey

So how does the Dreame Bot L10 Pro differ from the previous two robots?

          • Admin

            It's much more powerful)

          • Sergey

Dreame Bot L10 Pro – how does its floor cleaning performance compare to previous models? Power probably isn't crucial for laminate flooring. Which one has a Z-pattern? From the reviews, I understand that the Z-pattern cleans floors noticeably better. Does it have any other advantages?
Is it possible to add some kind of chemical to these vacuum cleaners to clean the floor better?

          • Admin

Dreamy isn't great at wet cleaning. Look at the new Mijia. Regarding chemicals, I don't recommend it, and neither do the manufacturers.

          • Sergey

Thanks for answering my boring questions. But I want to choose what I need.
Can you name the new Mijia devices? It would be great if they had Z cleaning.
Do all manufacturers recommend against adding chemicals? What do people say about this?

          • Admin

Hello! The Xiaomi Mijia Self-Cleaning Robot Vacuum-Mop Pro (STYTJO6ZHM) and the Xiaomi Mijia Self-Cleaning Sweeping Mopping Robot MJSTP. I've already ordered both for review. The MJSTP has already arrived, and I'm actively testing it.

  • Gleb

Hello, thank you for your reviews. I'm looking for a self-cleaning robot for my 70 sq m apartment. I have parquet floors, a rug only in the bathroom, no thresholds, and no pets. I'm leaning toward the Roborock S7 or the i7 Plus, as wet cleaning isn't a priority. I'd appreciate your recommendation for a budget of up to 70,000 rubles. I'd appreciate your advice!

    • Admin

Then the Samsung JetBot+ would be a better choice. It's definitely the best option for your needs. Stay tuned for the review, I'll publish it next week!

  • Alexey

    Good afternoon

Did you sell the Tefal 95?

  • Sergey

ROIDMI EVA has appeared. Judging by the new design, it should clean the floor much better.
    Can you comment on it?

  • Leysan

Hello. Given: 200 sq. m, 2 rugs, and a pet (a heavy shedding cat). Which robot vacuum cleaner would you recommend? I'm considering the Roborock S7 but can't decide. I need both dry and wet cleaning. Self-cleaning is not important.

  • Elena

Good afternoon. We are elderly and really need a robotic vacuum cleaner for carpet cleaning. Our house is 189 square meters, two stories high, and all the floors are carpeted. Please help us choose a robotic vacuum cleaner, as we don't know much about it.

  • Maria

    Hello!
I've already looked at and read so much while choosing a robot vacuum cleaner... Your review is very detailed and helpful! Thank you so much for your work!
I'd really like some advice! Could you please advise me? I have a 230 sq. m. apartment. I'd like a robot vacuum cleaner (ideally with a wet cleaning function, but dry cleaning is the most important, of course). The floors are tile, laminate, and parquet. I don't have carpet. Which one would you recommend? (I'd like something inexpensive, but I understand a cheap one wouldn't be suitable for our space...)
Thank you in advance for your reply 🙏🏻

    • Admin

Hello! Dreame Bot D9 Pro/Max or Hobot Legee 7, or you could also try the Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner Pro. Make sure the battery is 5200 mAh. The surface area is large.

  • Novel

Hello, my apartment is 50 square meters, there is a carpet in the living room, and the rest of the apartment is tiled and laminated. The main requirements are for it to collect my wife's hair around the apartment, recognize socks and cords on the floor, and clean the floor. Which vacuum cleaner would you recommend? I'm looking at the L10 PRO or S5 MAX.

  • Sergey

Hello! My apartment is 70 sq. m., with laminate flooring only. Dry cleaning only. What Xiaomi products would you recommend?

  • Oleg

Hello, should I replace my Mijia 1c with a Roborock S7 with a self-cleaning base? My apartment is almost carpet-free, 47 square meters. There's a lot of dog hair, and the Mijia seems to be able to handle it, but some hair and my wife's fur are still visible after cleaning.

  • Sergey

What is the Dreame L10 Pro? I'm also confused—can the Roborock Q7 be used without the self-cleaning station? Is its dust collector design the same as previous robots?

    • Admin

I have a review of the L10 Pro, please read it. I don't know yet about the Q7, but I'll be able to answer when it arrives for review.

  • Nikolay Sh.

    Hello! Please help me choose!!
I have a two-bedroom apartment, 74 sq. m., with linoleum, carpet, and laminate floors. I'm interested in a vacuum cleaner with wet cleaning because I have two children. So far, I've narrowed it down to two: the Roborock S7 and S5 Max. I've read reviews about the S5 Max saying that after six months to a year, it starts leaking and leaving puddles on the floor (is this true?), but I'm not sure about the S7—I need this feature and the extra 10,000 rubles. Or could you recommend a better option? Thank you!

  • Admin

Hello, first of all, thank you for the reviews and comparisons!
Need your advice, 70 sq m apartment, one cat, one person with very long hair, one child with toys of different sizes constantly scattered all over the house, one lint-free carpet in the children's room: I'm looking at the L10 Pro, D9 Pro and Roborock S7?

  • Dmitry

Hello! I'm looking for my first robot vacuum cleaner and it's hard to decide. I thought I'd settled on the Roborock S7, but then I started having second thoughts. My apartment is 70 square meters, there are no carpets or thresholds, but I have a cat who sheds a ton of hair. Self-cleaning isn't essential, but wet mopping and a smarter robot would be welcome. My budget is under 50,000. And if I do decide to go with the Roborock S7, which version is it—global or Russian?

    • Admin

Why bother with the S7 if there are no carpets? Then the Q7 Max+ is better; it has the same wipers, but is cheaper. I've already sent it to review, I'll publish it soon. Or the Hobot Legee 7.

  • Sergey

When will the Roidmi EVA review be available?

    • Admin

There are no offers from sellers yet, and I don’t want to buy it with my own money, so I don’t think there will be a review in the next month.

  • Oleg

Good afternoon. Thank you for the reviews. Can you tell me when the Roborock Q7max review will be released? Or can you help me choose between the Roborock Q7max, S7, and Dreame Z10Pro? My apartment has low-pile carpets, mostly laminate flooring, and a child with toys everywhere. The Q7 and Z10pro are impressive for their power, plus the Z10 has a station and 3D recognition. The Roborock Q7 is said to have problems with localization, is this true? I'm more interested in comparing the Q7 and S7 in terms of cleaning performance.

  • Alexandra

Hello! Can you recommend any trusted sellers with a warranty for the Roborock S7 with a self-cleaning station? The link on this page doesn't work on Mobile24.

  • Tatiana

Good afternoon. Need help choosing? My apartment is 100 square meters. There are no carpets, no children, and no pets. I need dry and wet cleaning because I don't have the time or opportunity to clean. I'm choosing between the Roborock S7, Mamibot ExVac890, Dreame Bot W10, and Hobot Leege 7 (specifically, I'm concerned about the large number of negative reviews regarding this model). Thank you in advance.

  • Dmitry

Could you please tell me if it's worth choosing the Midea S8+ over this robot?

  • Evgeny

Hello! Need help choosing a robot vacuum cleaner? I live with my wife, no children, pets, or carpets. We have laminate floors and no thresholds in our 35 square meter apartment. I need wet and dry cleaning: dust, hair, and small debris are all collected. The room is clean and everything is in its place. I was thinking about buying a Roborock S7, but does it make sense without carpets? Self-cleaning isn't really necessary. My budget is under $400. Thank you very much!

    • Admin

If you don't have carpets, there's no point in the S7. You could get the Q7 Max. It's the same thing, only cheaper and without the screen lift mechanism. Or something like the Dreame F9.

  • Natalia

Hello, I need help choosing a robot (I was considering Ecovacs, Roborock, and the Tefal X-Plorer Series 95). My house is 95 square meters, has laminate flooring, two small bedside rugs, but there are 1.5-2 cm thresholds (no pets). Which one vacuums better and can get over thresholds (wet cleaning is also recommended), and can you recommend another model (if you don't recommend any of these)?

  • Svetlana

Hello, what do you think about the Xiaomi Dreame Bot L10 Pro model? I have a large house, one carpet, and the rest is all laminate. Or maybe something else you recommend?) Budget 35 thousand.

    • Admin

Hello! It's a good robot, but the S7 is also good in its own way. I think it's still better (the brush is easier to clean, it lifts the cloth on the carpet, and self-cleaning is available).

      • Anton

Please help. I also chose the Dreame L10 Pro, but I read that the Roborock S7 is better and I can't figure out why. The Dreamy has a suction power of over 4000 Pa versus 2500 Pa, and other specifications are roughly equal. So the Dreamy should be better, but you're saying the opposite. So I can't figure it out.

        • Admin

Dreamy has its advantages, and Roborock has its own. In terms of power, they're essentially the same. Roborock can lift carpets, is self-cleaning, and has a better brush for removing hair and fur. Dreamy has an object recognition system and is significantly cheaper.

  • Tamara

Good afternoon! I have a three-room apartment, 98 sq. m., with carpets and parquet floors. The kitchen is quartz vinyl, and the toilet and bathroom are tiled with thresholds. I'm interested in high-quality wet cleaning and carpet cleaning. Could you please advise me on the best option? Thank you.

  • Tatiana

    Hello!
I can't decide. The apartment is 90 square meters, we have a family of four and a cat. The floors are tile, laminate, and carpet. Build quality and brand come first, then features.

  • Alexey

    Good evening!
Can you tell me where I can find official roborock stores?
I didn't find it on the website...
