Hello to all readers of the site! Previously published A comparison of Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaners under $200 The audience liked the prepared material, so we'll move on and now compare the next price segment of Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaners from various sub-brands: from $200 to $300. This time, we'll compare the Dreame Bot D9 Pro, Viomi SE, Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P, and Roborock S6 Pure. Why were these robot vacuum cleaners chosen for comparison? Well, at least they fall within this price range. The Dreame Bot D9 Pro is an updated version not only D9, but also D9 MaxLet's say it's the most recent update. Therefore, given the possibility of previous models being discontinued, it's best to stick with the latest one. The Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P is one of Xiaomi's most popular robot vacuum cleaners. It offers the best value in terms of features and price, plus it's an international version for various markets (we reviewed the Chinese version). Mijia LDS). Also updated Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Nothing surprising, and the upgrade was a failure, to put it mildly. Viomi SE is an updated version. V2 Pro, and there are no other models in the Viomi lineup under $300. The Roborock S6 Pure is the smallest lidar robot vacuum cleaner from this manufacturer, if we're talking about models that are currently in production and not discontinued. So, let's compare price, specifications, features, cleaning performance, and other parameters to figure out which Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaner to choose for a budget of $200 to $300!

Cost comparison

First, let's compare the prices of robot vacuum cleaners. Given the volatile economic situation, prices have skyrocketed and are unknown, so we'll focus on the offers currently available at the time of this comparison.

The Dreame Bot D9 Pro is priced between $270-$295, or $325-$350.

Viomi SE It's a little cheaper. Prices start from $240 to $280. Or $290-335.

The Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P costs between $260 and $300. That's $310-360 at the current exchange rate.

Well, what a price! Roborock S6 Pure It starts at $300 and goes up to $330. That's $360-395 for us. It barely fits into the price range of this comparison.

And don't forget that these prices don't include any promotions or discounts. Robot vacuums can be significantly cheaper during sales season.

We see that Viomi offers the best price, while Roborock is the most expensive. But the difference isn't that big.

Technical specifications

The table summarizes the main characteristics of the compared robot vacuum cleaners of the Xiaomi family:

Viomi SE Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P Dreame Bot D9 Pro Robotock S6 Pure

Noise level 63-71 dB 64.5-73 dB 62-74.5 dB 62-67 dB

We see that Dreame and Roborock have much more powerful batteries, which means they have a longer battery life and a larger cleaning area.

The most powerful robot in reality is the Dreame Bot D9 Pro. It demonstrated the best results on the test bench. All other robots performed similarly, despite their different stated power levels.

The Dreame is better designed; like the Roborock, it has both a dust collector and a wet cleaning nozzle at the bottom, but the capacity of these compartments is much larger.

Roborock has the smallest water tank. Viomi and Mop P have identical combined containers for water and waste.

The robots are identical in size and maneuverability. However, the Roborock has the quietest noise level, thanks to improved soundproofing of the motor compartment. Meanwhile, the Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P and Dreame Bot D9 Pro have the loudest noise levels. While this is understandable for the Dreame, given its high suction power, it's more of a drawback for the Mop P, as its suction power is no higher than that of the Viomi or Roborock.

In the end, the Dreame Bot D9 Pro clearly wins in terms of specifications, followed by the Roborock S6 Pure, then the Viomi SE, and only then the Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P. Let's move on.

Functional capabilities

Now let's compare the robots' functionality. Again, all functions are listed in a table for easy reference:

Viomi SE Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P Dreame Bot D9 Pro Robotock S6 Pure
Navigation Lidar Lidar Lidar Lidar
Zoning the map into rooms Yes Yes Yes Yes
Restricted areas for wet cleaning mode No No Yes No
Adjusting the water supply Yes, electronic Yes, electronic Yes, electronic Yes, mechanical
Increased power on carpet No No Yes Yes
Y-shaped wet cleaning Yes Yes No No
Individual cleaning settings for each room No No No Yes (power only)
Yandex.Alice Support Yes Yes Yes Yes

The navigation and mapping accuracy of the compared robot vacuums are comparable. In terms of functionality, the Viomi SE and Mop P offer an advanced herringbone pattern mopping mode. Meanwhile, Roborock and Dreame boast automatic power boosts when entering carpets. Dreame is the only one to support separate no-go zones for mopping, while Roborock allows for individual suction power settings for each room. However, Roborock has a significant drawback: it lacks electronic water flow control. The tank simply has a mechanical regulator, which is less than ideal.

Therefore, I believe that the Roborock and Dreame have better functionality compared to the Viomi and Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P. The Roborock and Dreame are roughly equal in functionality, but the Dreame has a better wet cleaning function, which is why I give it a slight edge.

Quality of cleaning

A video version of the comparative test, where you can clearly see the results of all tests:

And the last thing worth comparing is the cleaning performance of robot vacuum cleaners. Since the Roborock S6 Pure arrived to me for review well before the standard bench testing, I'll base the results on Roborock S5 Max, they are no different in design and characteristics. But the results of wet cleaning are generally suitable from Roborock E5, which has a similar wet cleaning attachment. I'm confident the results will be as close as possible to those of the Roborock S6 Pure.

When it comes to dry cleaning on hard surfaces, the robots clean almost equally well, and everything is above average. Only a little bit of debris remains in corners due to the robots' round shape. It's a draw here.

The Dreame Bot D9 Pro is the best carpet cleaner, thanks to its powerful suction and the floating center brush unit, which provides excellent carpet adhesion. Furthermore, the robot vacuum automatically increases power when entering carpets. The Roborock S6 Pure comes in second in carpet cleaning performance, as it also thoroughly cleans carpets.

Carpet Cleaning (Dreame D9 Pro)

However, the Viomi SE and Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P don't clean carpets very well, as they don't have a floating central brush unit and their power is quite standard. Therefore, carpets aren't their strong suit.

However, thanks to their Y-shaped movement pattern in wet cleaning mode, these robotic vacuum cleaners deliver superior wet cleaning performance. They remove dirt from floors better.

Wet cleaning (Mop P)Wet cleaning (Mop P)

Wet cleaning (Mop P)

In this regard, Dreame and Roborock offer average wet cleaning performance. However, Dreame is superior due to its larger tank capacity and built-in pump. This allows you to adjust the cleaning pad's wetting level in the app, and the water supply is blocked when docked to the charging base. A small advantage of these two robots is the included underlay, which will protect the floor from getting too wet if the cleaning pad is not removed promptly.

All four models have equally good maneuverability, but more importantly, all of the compared robots, without exception, are sensitive to dark flooring, detecting it by differences in height. This is important to consider.

Design

Now, a few words about the design of the robots being compared. First, we'll show each robot vacuum cleaner from all sides.

Most importantly, the central brushes on the Roborock and Dreame are removable on both sides for easier maintenance and cleaning. This is a crucial feature.

Dreame, Viomi, and Xiaomi have three-point side brushes with quick-release bristles. Roborock has a five-point silicone side brush secured with a screw. This silicone brush is less susceptible to wear, but it performs worse on carpets. Soft silicone brushes tend to curl up on carpets, which is important to consider.

All robots except the Dreame have four under-fall protection sensors. The Dreame has six. The Roborock S6 Pure and Dreame Bot D9 Pro have a wall sensor on the right bumper, which is a small advantage for these robots. They navigate smoothly along walls and obstacles without touching them.

Comparison results

In this comparison, I've demonstrated the differences in the specifications, features, and key cleaning parameters of robot vacuum cleaners. Now I'll summarize and express my opinion on which Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaner is best for different conditions within a budget of $200 to $300.

Clearly, the Dreame Bot D9 Pro is the clear winner in terms of specifications, design, most features, and dry cleaning performance. In my opinion, it's the best of the compared robot vacuums across most criteria.

The Viomi SE and Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P are practically on par. They're practically identical in design and have the same specifications. They're simply manufactured in different factories. Roborock lands right in the middle. It's inferior to the Dreame, but definitely has its advantages compared to the other two robots.

So, what's the bottom line? The design, features, and test results clearly indicate that the Viomi SE and Xiaomi MI Robot Vacuum Mop P are better suited for cleaning hard floors, with an emphasis on wet mopping. If your home or apartment has carpets, these aren't the best robotic options. At the same time, these indicators suggest that the Dreame is better suited for dry cleaning and carpet cleaning, including high-pile carpets. The Roborock is also better suited for dry cleaning, but only if there are no carpets or they aren't too fluffy.

Speaking of reliability and build quality, which can also influence your final choice, Roborock and Dreame are undoubtedly better at assembling their robots. They have better build quality and components. Viomi and Mijia are definitely a step down in this regard.

Based on all of the above, here's my final opinion. If you're focusing on dry cleaning or have carpeted floors, then here's what to prioritize when choosing between the robot vacuum cleaners being compared:

  1. Dreame Bot D9 Pro
  2. Roborock S6 Pure
  3. Viomi SE/Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P

If you primarily need wet cleaning and don't have carpet on your floor, then I would prioritize robots as follows:

  1. Viomi SE/Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P
  2. Dreame Bot D9 Pro
  3. Roborock S6 Pure

But if you're simply looking for a good robot vacuum for everyday cleaning and haven't yet decided whether wet cleaning is necessary. The main thing is that it vacuums well and lasts a long time, then again, the rating would be as follows:

  1. Dreame Bot D9 Pro
  2. Roborock S6 Pure
  3. Viomi SE/Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P

I don't see any fundamental difference between the Viomi SE and the Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P. Buy whichever is more cost-effective or easier to order.

On that note, I'd like to conclude this comparison. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping. Bye!

Hello! Could you please tell me, if I were to compare and choose between the Dream D9 Max and the D9 Pro, which one is more interesting in terms of functionality? Prices for the models vary from store to store, and the Pro can be found cheaper than the Max.
    Thanks in advance.

If the Pro is cheaper than the Max or at the same level, it's better to get the Pro! Next week, I'll publish a comprehensive comparison of Dreame robot vacuums. If you're interested, stay tuned!
