eufy L60: self-cleaning turbo brush and dust collector, 5000 Pa, wet cleaning

eufy L60eufy L60

The eufy L60 robot vacuum cleaner went on sale in early 2024. Its key feature is self-cleaning at the station, not only for the dust bin but also for the turbo brush. To achieve this, the station is equipped with special blades that move along the central brush, cutting away tangled hair and fur. This solution significantly simplifies maintenance. In addition to the station, the eufy L60 boasts lidar for navigation, increased suction power (5000 Pa), and a wet mopping function. For such a complete package, you'll expect to pay around $300-$350. Below, I'll thoroughly test the eufy L60, highlight its pros and cons, and express my opinion on whether this robot vacuum is worth buying. I'd appreciate a subscription and a like after watching the video. So, let's get started!

Equipment

The robot vacuum cleaner arrived in a branded box like this:

Appearance

Now let's take a look at the eufy L60's design. Let's start with the robot vacuum itself. It's round and comes in black.

There's no wall sensor. A sensor for detecting large obstacles in the robot's path is located in the center. The robot's body is just under 10 cm tall, though the stated height is 102 mm.

Navigation is handled by a lidar unit, equipped with a spring-loaded cover. Two mechanical control buttons are located next to it.

The combined water and waste container is removable from the rear. The dust container has a capacity of 260 ml. The filtration system consists of a HEPA filter, foam, and mesh. The water tank holds 290 ml. An electronically controlled pump is installed inside. A cleaning cloth holder is attached to the bottom of the tank, secured with Velcro and a pocket.

The robot has three fall protection sensors on the bottom. There is no carpet sensor. It has a single side brush: a three-beam brush secured with a screw.

The central brush unit does not float. Only the lid section with the scraper moves. The brush itself is made of bristles and petals. It can be disassembled on both sides to remove tangled hair and fur.

Speaking of the station, a waste bag is located under the lid on top, with a convenient storage area for cleaning the robot. The bag itself is standard.

And here's what the station's highlight looks like: the turbo brush's self-cleaning system. Inside are blades, and underneath is a removable tray that collects some of the cut hair and fur.

The self-cleaning brush works like this: the turbo brush rotates, the blades move along it, cutting off tangled hair and fluff, and at the same time, the cut hair is sucked into a bag in the station. An interesting solution, which is implemented exactly the same way in Xiaomi MIjia M30 Pro, discussed earlier.

The pros and cons of the robot's design will be discussed during the final review. Let's move on!

Functions

Overall, it offers all the basic options for customizing cleaning parameters, including a user mode and control via Yandex.Alice. The self-cleaning frequency setting is an interesting one; you can even select a time interval for self-cleaning the dust container during cleaning. However, there are no voice alerts in Russian. The list includes English and other languages, but not Russian.

Testing

A detailed video review of the eufy L60, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel:

Navigation

And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, we'll test the eufy L60's navigation in a room with obstacles. First, the robot vacuum cleaner navigates the perimeter of the room. It navigated the dryer's legs without getting stuck. Then, it swept around the box separately and proceeded to clean the entire accessible area in a serpentine pattern. It swept around each chair leg separately, and then returned to the station. The test was successful.

Navigating an Obstacle Room

Speaking of navigation within the home, the robot vacuum cleaner cleans room by room, following the perimeter, then in a serpentine pattern. I found that the eufy L60 returned to its docking station every 15 minutes to self-clean its dust bin and brush. There were no uncleaned areas, and this model has excellent navigation.

Suction power

However, the suction power turned out to be quite average. The robot vacuum cleaner only managed to suck up debris from a 2 mm gap. This is likely due to the non-floating central brush unit, which means it doesn't adhere as tightly to the floor.

Dry cleaning

Cleaning performance on laminate floors was good—almost all debris was removed, with the exception of small remnants in corners that are difficult for round robots to reach. The center brush picked up some pet hair and fur, which is to be expected.

Carpet cleaning

The same debris was scattered on a low-pile carpet. And I can say the eufy L60 cleaned the carpet well. On a medium-pile carpet, there was some stuck debris, but nothing significant. This is likely due to the non-floating center brush assembly.

Self-cleaning

Immediately after the "dirty tests," I checked how well the robot vacuum's station self-cleans its dust bin and turbo brush. The dust bin was full, and hair and fur were tangled around the brush. I returned the robot to the station and started self-cleaning. The results were good. The dust bin was empty, and the turbo brush was also clean.

I would like to point out that the wound wool and hair remain only on the sides, from where they can be easily removed thanks to the detachable design of the brush.

I also tested the self-cleaning feature in a home environment, and the results were equally positive. So, this robot's self-cleaning feature is well-implemented!

Wet cleaning and carpets

There's a caveat when wet cleaning carpeted floors. The robot doesn't recognize carpets and may wet them. To avoid this, set up carpet-specific wet cleaning zones. Another option is to first perform a full dry cleaning, including carpets, then attach the wet cleaning attachment and run the robot on hard floors only.

Wet cleaning

The eufy L60's wet cleaning performance leaves much to be desired by today's standards. The robot can't handle even the simplest stains, like dried-on dirt, and there's no cleaning cloth function on the station. It's designed more for light floor mopping. The cloth helps remove fine dust that the turbo brush might miss.

Obstacle clearance

The robot has good cross-country ability; it can easily handle thresholds up to 2 cm high.

And another plus is that the eufy L60 is not afraid of black surfaces and moves freely over them.

Noise level

Finally, we measured the noise level of the eufy L60. It ranged from 67.6 to 75 dB. This is higher than similar devices, and this is important to consider. The station is also noisy, peaking at 79 dB.

Personal opinion

The eufy L60 robot vacuum cleaner has been thoroughly reviewed and tested. our evaluation system he managed to gain 116 pointsThe result is lower than most similar products due to a number of issues. However, overall, it's on par with budget self-cleaning robots.

Overall rating of tested robot vacuum cleaners: https://robovac.washerhouse.com/en/rejtingi/robovac-obshhij-rejting-robotov-pylesosov-robo.html.

I'll highlight the pros and cons, then share my opinion on the robot I tested. I liked the following:

  1. Effective self-cleaning of the dust collector and turbo brush at the station.
  2. Good quality dry cleaning.
  3. Capable of vacuuming and mopping the floor at the same time.
  4. Control via a proprietary application in Russian.
  5. Yandex.Alice support.
  6. Good cross-country ability.
  7. The robot vacuum cleaner is not afraid of black surfaces.

Speaking of shortcomings, here are the comments that were found about the robot:

  1. The declared power was not confirmed in tests.
  2. Increased noise levels during operation and self-cleaning at the station.
  3. Budget-friendly design. The lack of a wall sensor and carpet sensor means the robot encounters obstacles more often, doesn't automatically increase suction when approaching carpets, and can't automatically avoid carpets in wet cleaning mode.
  4. Weak battery.
  5. Primitive wet cleaning by 2024 standards.
  6. There is no Russian language for voice notifications.

Overall, some of the criticisms are typical for a $350 price point with a self-cleaning station. However, there are still some unique flaws with this robot. Considering the pros and cons, I would recommend this robot vacuum to pet owners, provided that dry cleaning on hard floors and low-pile carpets is a priority. In these conditions, the eufy L60 will do its job effectively.

I'd like to end this review on that note. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments below the video. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
