Evolution Smart Clean VCF2312: backlight, collapsible tube, increased power

The Evolution Smart Clean VCF2312 is a stick vacuum cleaner priced between $150 and $200, or approximately $150-$200 at the exchange rate at the time of writing. For this price, the manufacturer offers a vacuum cleaner with a flexible extension wand, automatic power boost, cleaning area illumination, and a set of additional attachments for spot cleaning. Furthermore, the vacuum cleaner boasts decent suction power, reaching 23 kPa. Below, I'll thoroughly test the device, highlight its pros and cons based on the test results, and then express my opinion on whether it's worth buying. So, let's get started!
Equipment
The vacuum cleaner arrived in a branded box like this:
The package includes:
- Main block.
- Extension tube.
- Basic floor nozzle.
- Removable battery.
- Wall holder.
- Power adapter.
- Fasteners to the holder.
- Crevice nozzle.
- Attachment with sliding bristles.
- Spare HEPA filter.
- Operating instructions.
Overall, the kit is pretty good for the price, but ideally it would have included a turbo brush attachment for cleaning upholstery. At least they included a spare filter.
Appearance
Now let's take a look at the design of the Evolution Smart Clean VCF2312. Its main color is graphite. The vacuum cleaner is turned on and off by pressing the trigger button. You don't have to hold it down, which is a plus. The control panel with indicators is located on the top; there's no display. Suction power can be adjusted, with five power levels. There's also an Auto mode, which automatically adjusts suction power based on how dirty the floor is. A separate dust sensor indicator displays the floor's soiling level.
A blow-out HEPA filter is located on the end. As mentioned earlier, the battery is removable in this model, which is very convenient. The battery has a charge indicator and a connector for connecting directly to the charger.
Under the top cover is another HEPA filter, a pre-motor one. The dust bin opens with the press of a button, causing debris to fall out through the bottom. Conveniently, the dust bin itself can be completely removed for cleaning or even washing. A cyclone with a mesh filter is installed inside.
Let's take a look at the included attachments. The main floor nozzle features a swivel joint and rubberized wheels. A front LED light illuminates the cleaning area. The roller has short, flexible bristles and is released by pressing a release button. This type of roller is best suited for cleaning carpets, but it also picks up debris well on hard surfaces.
The retractable bristle nozzle is standard. The crevice tool, however, has been slightly improved. By pressing the latch at the front, you can extend the crevice tool's length by pulling out another section. This allows the nozzle to reach deeper for cleaning hard-to-reach areas. A smart decision.
I'll also show you the wand's folding mechanism. At the press of a button, the wand bends 90 degrees, making cleaning under low furniture easier. Another convenient design feature.
The wall mount is also worth mentioning. It's equipped with charging terminals for wireless charging of the vacuum cleaner. Simply place the vacuum cleaner in the mount, and charging begins automatically. The mount also stores additional attachments. Overall, the mount is well-designed.
The vacuum cleaner assembles effortlessly, and the latches work well. Here's what the Evolution Smart Clean VCF2312 looks like assembled:
The only caveat is that it does not have vertical parking outside of the wall mount, as with most other cordless vacuum cleaners.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the Evolution VCF2312, as declared by the manufacturer:
- Power consumption 400 W.
- Suction power up to 23 kPa.
- Li-Ion battery 2500 mAh.
- Dust collector 600 ml.
- Working time 12-65 min.
- Charging time up to 5 hours.
- Noise level 71-80 dB.
- Weight when fully assembled: 3.24 kg.
The specifications are quite standard for this price segment. The noise level was personally tested and, depending on the power level, it ranges from 71 to 80 dB, which is slightly above average compared to similar models.
The main unit weighs 1,844 grams, the extension tube weighs 476 grams, and the main floor nozzle weighs 922 grams. The fully assembled vacuum weighs 3,242 grams. It's slightly heavier than similar models. I wouldn't say you'll notice it, but it's definitely not light.
Testing
A detailed video review of the Evolution Smart Clean VCF2312, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel:
Opening hours
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, let's check the Evolution Smart Clean VCF2312's battery life at maximum power with the main floor nozzle attached. It managed 7 minutes and 33 seconds of operation, which is shorter than the manufacturer's claim. Overall, the runtime is shorter than similar models. 10-12 minutes is considered average.
Suction power
The suction power was impressive. Even on the lowest setting, the vacuum was able to suck up debris from a 10mm gap. On the second power level, it thoroughly cleaned every crevice. I can say this model has increased power. So, it's worth using it on lower power levels to extend battery life.
Collecting debris on laminate flooring
Now let's test how well the Evolution Smart Clean VCF2312 picks up floor debris. I scattered various types of debris on the laminate flooring: hair, fur, grains, and other small household debris. This machine performed well.
It's important to note that it has no problem picking up debris along the baseboards and in corners. It picks everything up thoroughly. Some hair and fur got caught in the roller, but the bulk of the debris was still collected in the dust bin. Test passed!
Carpet cleaning
The same debris was scattered on the carpet, and the vacuum also did a good job, cleaning the carpet. As mentioned earlier, the roller attachment is well-suited for cleaning carpets!
Using additional attachments
And thanks to the included attachments, you can clean a sofa, areas the main nozzle can't reach, and even the inside of a car if necessary. And thanks to the flexible tube, you can even clean under low furniture. In short, this vacuum cleaner is suitable for a variety of applications.
Cleaning the dust collector
Finally, I'll tell you how to clean the dust bin. Press the button, and all the debris falls out through the bottom. Hair and fur can sometimes get stuck in the bin. In this case, you can remove the dust bin, remove the filter system, and empty the bin completely. Very convenient!
Personal opinion
The Evolution Smart Clean VCF2312 upright vacuum cleaner was thoroughly reviewed and tested. Based on my experience with it and testing it, I can highlight the following pros and cons.
I liked the following:
- High-quality waste collection on any surface.
- Increased suction power.
- Automatic power increase function.
- Removable battery.
- Illumination of the cleaning area.
- Good filtration system, 2 HEPA filters installed.
- Wireless charging on a wall holder.
- Extended crevice tool.
- Bendable extension tube.
- Optimal price.
Speaking about the disadvantages, there are only two main ones:
- Short operating time at maximum power.
- There is no turbo brush attachment for cleaning upholstered furniture.
Of the less significant, but still noticeable, comments, I would like to point out that the vacuum cleaner is rather heavy, compared to similar ones, and there is no provision for vertical parking outside of the wall holder.
Ultimately, I can say that in the sub-$200 price range, at the current exchange rate, it's difficult to find the perfect upright vacuum. Every model has its pros and cons, and the Evolution Smart Clean VCF2312 is no exception. This unit left a largely positive impression after reviewing it and performed well in its primary role, demonstrating high-quality debris collection on a variety of surfaces.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping. Bye!
