REDMOND VH1311: Upright vacuum cleaner with backlight, flexible tube, and automatic mode

The REDMOND VH1311 cordless stick vacuum cleaner is a new product for 2023. Priced between $155 and $210, this device boasts suction power of up to 26 kPa, an automatic suction boost function, a cleaning zone light, two different rollers for different surfaces, a bendable extension tube for convenient cleaning under furniture, and an informative display on the body. Overall, the vacuum cleaner's design and features are fully consistent with its price range. Below, I'll thoroughly test the REDMOND VH1311 and then express my opinion on whether it's worth the money. So, let's get started!
Equipment
The vacuum cleaner arrived in a branded box like this:
The package includes:
- Main block.
- Extension tube.
- Basic floor nozzle with silicone roller.
- Replacement roller with soft bristles.
- Crevice nozzle.
- Attachment with sliding bristles.
- Wall holder.
- Charger.
- Operating instructions.
Personally, I miss the turbo brush attachment for upholstery cleaning. However, it's nice to have two rollers for different types of flooring.
Appearance
Now let's take a look at the REDMOND VH1311's design. Let's start with the main unit. It's finished in graphite with black accents.
The top section lights up in different colors, depending on the battery's status. The vacuum cleaner is turned on and off by pressing the trigger button. There's no need to hold it down during operation. An informative display is located on the end. It shows the current operation mode and battery charge.
The modes are switched using a button on the top of the unit. There are three modes: automatic, medium, and maximum. In automatic mode, the REDMOND VH1311 automatically adjusts suction power depending on how dirty the floor is. It doesn't increase suction power when carpets are detected, so keep this in mind.
The battery is removable, which is a plus. There's a charging port on the side. Unfortunately, wireless charging via a wall mount isn't supported.
The dust container is emptied by pressing the locking button that secures the bottom of the container. If needed, the dust container can be completely removed for cleaning or emptying. The four-stage filtration system includes a HEPA filter, a cyclone, a mesh filter, and a blown-out foam filter located under the top cover.
Let's move on to an overview of the included attachments. The main floor nozzle features a swivel joint and fairly large wheels. The front LED light illuminates the cleaning area, which is a plus. The nozzle comes with a silicone roller, which is suitable for cleaning carpets and reduces the likelihood of tangling pet hair. A fluffy roller for hard floors can be installed instead.
Additional attachments from the standard kit.
The extension tube deserves special attention; it folds almost in half, allowing for convenient vacuuming under low furniture.
This is what the REDMOND VH1311 looks like when fully assembled:
Please note that vertical parking outside the holder is not provided.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of REDMOND VH1311, as declared by the manufacturer:
- Power consumption 350 W.
- Suction power up to 26 kPa.
- Li-Ion battery 2000 mAh.
- Dust collector 600 ml.
- Working time 12-48 min.
- Charging time up to 4 hours.
- Noise level 74-81 dB.
- Weight when fully assembled: 2.92 kg.
The specifications are quite standard for this price segment. The noise level was personally tested and, depending on the operating mode, it ranged from 74 to 81 dB, which is slightly above average compared to similar devices.
The main unit weighs 1,554 grams, the extension tube weighs 419 grams, and the main floor nozzle weighs 943 grams. The fully assembled vacuum weighs 2,916 grams, which is again in line with similar products.
Testing
A detailed video review of the REDMOND VH1311, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel:
Opening hours
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, let's check the REDMOND VH1311's battery life in Turbo mode with the main floor nozzle attached. It managed 12 minutes and 15 seconds of runtime, which is a fairly standard result. As a reminder, the vacuum cleaner can run for up to 48 minutes in automatic mode, depending on how dirty the floor is.
Suction power
Regarding suction power, I couldn't test the vacuum cleaner at minimum power because there's no Eco mode. However, at medium power, it thoroughly cleaned the stand, including crevices as deep as 10 mm. This means the suction power is truly high and will be sufficient for household cleaning.
Collecting debris on laminate flooring
Now let's test how well the REDMOND VH1311 picks up floor debris. I scattered various types of debris on the laminate flooring: hair, wool, grains, and other small household debris. This machine performed well.
It's important to note that it has no problem picking up debris along baseboards and in corners. It picks everything up thoroughly. The roller barely picks up any hair or fur. All debris is collected in the dust bin. Test passed!
Carpet cleaning
The same debris was scattered on the carpet, and the REDMOND VH1311 also performed well, cleaning the carpet. For this test, the silicone roller was installed. We see that it also barely picks up any pet hair, which was quite abundant on the carpet.
Using additional attachments
It's also worth noting that the included attachments allow you to clean a sofa, areas the main nozzle can't reach, and even the inside of a car. And thanks to the flexible tube, you can even clean under low furniture. Overall, this vacuum cleaner is suitable for a variety of applications.
Cleaning the dust collector
Finally, I'll tell you how to clean the dust bin. Press the button, and all the debris falls out through the bottom. Hair and fur can get stuck in the bin. In this case, you can completely remove the dust bin, remove the filtration system, and empty the bin completely. Very convenient.
Personal opinion
The REDMOND VH1311 upright vacuum cleaner was thoroughly reviewed and tested. Based on my experience with it and testing it, I can highlight the following pros and cons.
I liked the following:
- High-quality waste collection on any surface.
- Increased suction power.
- Automatic power increase function.
- Illumination of the cleaning area.
- Informative display on the body.
- Removable battery.
- Bendable extension tube.
- Ergonomic design.
- Optimal price.
- Availability of warranty and service.
Speaking of disadvantages, I didn’t like the following:
- Vertical parking is not provided.
- There is no turbo brush attachment for cleaning upholstered furniture.
- There is no wireless charging on the wall mount.
Overall, I can say that for the price, this is a pretty interesting option, especially if you're unsure which type of roller is best suited to your specific needs. At the current exchange rate, companies typically offer vacuum cleaners with one roller included for around $200, either for carpets or hard floors.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
