JIMMY HW9 Pro: an upright vacuum cleaner for washing floors, dry cleaning, and even carpet cleaning

The Jimmy HW9 Pro is a cordless vacuum cleaner for mopping and dry cleaning. New for 2023, it's now available and priced from $270, or $275 at the exchange rate at the time of writing. Its unique design allows it to be used not only for mopping floors but also for dry cleaning, including carpet cleaning. Furthermore, the roller at the station self-cleans and dries. Additionally, the manufacturer claims it sterilizes clean water in the tank, automatically increases power when dirt is detected, and has a wide tilt angle for the main unit, allowing it to vacuum and mop under low furniture. Below, I'll thoroughly test the Jimmy HW9 Pro, discuss its pros and cons, and then share my opinion on whether it's worth the money. I'd be grateful if you'd appreciate my efforts by subscribing and liking after watching the video. So, let's get started!
Equipment
Let's start the review with the package contents. The vacuum cleaner arrived in this branded box:
The package includes:
- Self-cleaning and charging station with two accessory holders.
- Removable handle.
- Power adapter.
- Removable battery.
- Replacement roller for carpet cleaning.
- Vacuum cleaner cleaning tool.
- Branded cleaning product.
- Operating instructions.
The package is standard, but I was pleased to see the included detergent. Not all manufacturers provide this.
Appearance
Let's take a look at the Jimmy HW9 Pro's design. First, let's go over the main components. This includes the cleaning module at the bottom, above which is the waste and dirty water tank. Above that is the display, battery, and handle itself. Now, let's take a closer look at each component.
The cleaning module consists of a soft-bristled roller with a water spray nozzle installed in front of it. If you want to clean the floor, keep in mind that water is forced into the cleaning area by pressing the corresponding button on the handle. Automatic water supply is not provided. Water is sprayed in front of the cleaning module, and then the roller collects it and sucks it into the dirty water tank. Therefore, we don't turn on the water—the roller is dry and can simply vacuum. Very convenient.
The top cover is removable. The front curtain of the cleaning module rises and falls. We lower it when cleaning floors, and raise it when cleaning carpets. The vacuum cleaner comes with a soft-bristled roller for cleaning hard surfaces and floor cleaning. The roller does not extend to the edge of the body. A squeegee and a suction port are located behind the roller. A replacement roller for cleaning carpets can be installed if needed.
The clean water tank is interestingly located within the cleaning module itself. It's removable and holds 400 ml. The manufacturer states that the tank is equipped with a silver ion material for water disinfection. However, where it's located and how to change it is unclear.
Above the cleaning module is a 400 ml dirty water tank. It contains a HEPA filter with a mesh and sponge, electronic water level sensors, and a coarse filter. The filtration system is high-quality.
Above the dirty water tank is the display and battery, which is removable. The display shows the battery charge, remaining runtime, the selected mode, and service messages. There are three operating modes: automatic, hard floor cleaning, and carpet cleaning. In automatic mode, the Jimmy HW9 Pro automatically adjusts suction power based on how dirty the floor is. This is a plus.
The handle features three mechanical control buttons: water spray, power on/off, and mode switching. Another button is located on the back of the vacuum cleaner, enabling/disabling voice prompts. This vacuum cleaner verbally announces each operating status and any errors that occur. The prompts are in English, so you can turn them off entirely.
I'd also like to point out that the JIMMY HW9 Pro supports vertical parking outside of a docking station, and more importantly, the vacuum cleaner's tilt angle is significantly smaller than that of conventional upright wet vacuum cleaners.
You can't completely lay the vacuum down to clean the floor, but it can be lowered much lower and still operate at this angle. The only caveat is that the dirty water level in the tank will reach the sensors faster when tilted, causing the vacuum to shut off.
As for the station, the JIMMY HW9 Pro charges, self-cleans, and even dries the roller. However, drying is done with room-temperature air, so the roller won't be perfectly dry. At least excess moisture will be removed, reducing the risk of odor and bacteria growth. The roller will then dry naturally at room temperature.
The roller's wash and self-cleaning features are quite ingenious. As I mentioned, water isn't supplied to the roller itself under the lid, like with other wet/dry vacuum cleaners. So, JIMMY's engineers came up with a clever idea. A barrier was installed in front of the station's nozzle, which automatically sprays water during self-cleaning and then flows under the roller. From there, the roller is rinsed and self-cleaned, drawing water into the dirty water tank. This unique solution is, in fact, just as effective as the traditional roller's self-cleaning method.
Overall, there are no complaints about the vacuum cleaner's design, other than a small gap between the edge of the roller and the edge of the body. Otherwise, there are no issues.
And surely many have noticed that it is almost identical to the one previously discussed. Jimmy HW10 Pro, but the older model also has a removable main unit, which can be used as a hand-held vacuum cleaner.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the JIMMY HW9 Pro, as stated by the manufacturer:
- Battery: Li-Ion, 3000 mAh.
- Power: 300 W.
- Working time: up to 35 min.
- Charging time up to 5 hours.
- Noise level: 74-76.5 dB.
- Clean water tank: 0.4 l.
- Dirty water tank: 0.4 l.
It's worth noting that, compared to conventional wet/dry vacuum cleaners, this model is quite powerful. However, compared to the older HW10 Pro, it's 50 watts less powerful. The battery is also weaker, but comparable to most similar models. I personally tested the noise level, which is in the range of 74.5-76 dB, which is quite normal.
Testing
A detailed video review of the JIMMY HW9 Pro, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel:
Suction power
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, let's check the suction power on the test bench. With the carpet roller attached, to my surprise, the JIMMY HW9 Pro was able to suck up debris from crevices as deep as 2 mm. But with the fluffy-pile roller attached, it cleaned every crevice without any problem.
Dry cleaning
The JIMMY HW9 Pro does a good job of picking up debris on hard surfaces. It leaves a minimal blind spot in corners, just a few millimeters, where the roller itself doesn't reach.
Carpet cleaning
This vacuum cleaner cleans carpets perfectly with the carpet roller attached. It's powerful enough to thoroughly clean medium-pile carpets. The roller does get tangled up with fur and hair, but it's easy to clean. Most of the debris is collected in the designated compartment, before the coarse filter. Test passed!
Washing the floor
Now, regarding floor cleaning, the JIMMY HW9 Pro handles everyday floor cleaning well, both on wood and tile. It doesn't leave streaks and, when used correctly, won't damage delicate flooring.
This cordless vacuum cleaner can be used not only for cleaning floors but also for picking up liquids. And, as in my case, it even passed the now-traditional test of picking up a mixture of raw egg and flour.
The JIMMY HW9 Pro can also be used to clean slightly dried-on dirt. As you can see, there are no marks or streaks left behind. The floor is perfectly clean.
The only caveat is that because the roller doesn't extend to the edge of the cabinet, a narrow strip of a few millimeters along the baseboard remains unwashed. Spraying it with water and then wiping the liquid off the floor can somewhat alleviate the problem. However, this isn't a solution. The engineers still have work to do.
This vacuum cleaner even removed tough, dried-on coffee and sauce stains. As with similar products, it took some time to remove the sauce stains—about 8 minutes in my case. I also used the brand's cleaning solution. It's very convenient that you can first spray the tough stains with water, then let them soak for a bit while rinsing other areas. After that, they come out much faster.
I'd also like to point out that all tests were conducted on a single battery charge, so the JIMMY HW9 Pro can actually operate for about half an hour, which is enough to clean a medium-sized home.
Self-cleaning
We drain the dirty water, fill the second tank with clean water, and test the self-cleaning function. The lid is clean, and the roller is clean. There's minimal dirt remaining underneath, but it's not the same as most similar models. So, I think this model's self-cleaning function is well-implemented.
Personal opinion
The JIMMY HW9 Pro cordless vacuum cleaner was thoroughly reviewed and tested. I'll share the pros and cons I discovered. I liked the following:
- Suitable for dry cleaning and floor washing.
- High-quality waste collection on various surfaces, including carpets.
- High-quality floor cleaning and removal of stains, even difficult ones.
- Suitable for collecting liquids from the floor.
- Removable battery.
- Multi-stage filtration system.
- Automatic power increase.
- An interesting solution with water spraying in front of the cleaning module.
- Self-cleaning and drying function of the roller.
- The angle of inclination is smaller than that of washing analogues.
- Availability of warranty and service.
Speaking about the shortcomings, I would like to highlight the following comments:
- There remains an unwashed area along the baseboard and in the corners, due to the fact that the roller does not reach the edge of the body.
- Full drying of the roller with hot air is not provided.
- Suction power is reduced when the carpet roller is installed.
- Small tanks for clean and dirty water.
Overall, I liked the JIMMY HW9 Pro and left a mostly positive review after testing it. This vacuum cleaner does its job well and is definitely recommended. However, like other models, it has its shortcomings that the engineers still need to work on.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping. Bye!
