Eufy Clean X8 Pro: A powerful robot vacuum cleaner with a self-cleaning turbo brush and dust bin

The Eufy Clean X8 Pro is a new robot vacuum cleaner, launching internationally at the end of September 2023. Prices start at $650. For this price, you get a robot vacuum with a self-cleaning station, lidar navigation, dry and wet mopping functions, and a unique self-cleaning turbo brush technology that removes hair and pet hair. The robot also boasts powerful suction thanks to two motors, each delivering up to 4000 Pa. I've thoroughly tested the Eufy Clean X8 Pro and expressed my opinion on whether it's worth buying when it hits the market. So, let's get started!
Equipment
The robot vacuum cleaner arrived in a branded box like this:
The package includes:
- Self-cleaning station.
- Power adapter.
- Plastic base for the station.
- Holder with a cloth for wet cleaning.
- Robot cleaning tool.
- Documentation.
The package is standard. Unfortunately, spare parts are not included.
Appearance
Now let's take a look at the Eufy Clean X8 Pro's design. Let's start with the robot vacuum itself. It's black, made of matte plastic that resists fingerprints. The body is round and stands approximately 98 mm from the floor.
This model doesn't have a wall sensor. An obstacle detection sensor is located on the front bumper, with the AI.MAP technology name written underneath. We'll test whether the robot can accurately navigate around small objects.
The control panel features three mechanical buttons. Navigation is handled by a lidar sensor, which has a spring-loaded cover. The dust container is located under the top cover. Two suction motors are indicated, located on either side of the dust container. The container, accordingly, has two ventilation ducts on either side.
The filtration system is based on a HEPA filter with a mesh inside. This is a questionable solution, and I'll show you why in my tests. The container itself holds up to 335 milliliters of dry waste. There's a self-cleaning curtain at the back.
The robot's rear features a 270-milliliter water tank with electronically adjustable water flow.
The holder with the cloth is attached from below. The cloth is bare on the sides, increasing the blind spot when wiping along baseboards and furniture. The cloth is secured with Velcro and a groove.
The robot has four anti-fall sensors installed on the bottom. There's no carpet detection sensor. There's a single, three-pronged side brush, secured with a screw. The central brush unit is floating, which is a plus. On the cover, you can see teeth that comb the turbo brush during self-cleaning. The central brush is made of bristles and petals. Unfortunately, it can't be disassembled for cleaning.
Now let's look at the included cleaning station. It's where the Eufy Clean X8 Pro self-cleans dry debris. The station is compact, smaller than most similar units. Its design is standard. The suction port and charging terminals are located at the bottom, and the dust bag is hidden under a cover at the top. The dust bag is well-made, thicker than most other self-cleaning robot vacuums.
Overall, the robot has both strengths and weaknesses, which I'll detail in the final review. But it's a fact that it's well-built and looks quite expensive.

What is the Eufy brand, and what are the pros and cons of their vacuum cleaners? You can read about it in this article: https://robovac.washerhouse.com/en/obzory/eufy/robovac-eufy-ot-anker-lichnoe-mnenie.html.
Functions
Speaking of the Eufy Clean X8 Pro's capabilities, the robot vacuum is controlled via the proprietary Eufy Clean app. Connection is simple and convenient, following the manufacturer's prompts. The interface is in Russian, and everything is intuitive.
The main functions are displayed on the screen:
- Self-cleaning at the station.
- Self-cleaning turbo brush.
- Saving multiple cleaning maps in memory.
- Automatic zoning of premises into rooms.
- Selecting areas and rooms for cleaning.
- Virtual walls and no-go zones (and for wet cleaning mode).
- Suction power adjustment.
- Adjusting the degree of wetting of the napkin.
- User mode.
- Cleaning log.
- Setting up cleaning according to a schedule.
- Automatic power increase on carpet.
- Voice notifications in Russian.
In principle, the functions are quite standard for robotic vacuum cleaners in 2023The only thing worth noting is the self-cleaning function of the turbo brush. After cleaning, the robot stops, turns on maximum power, and rotates the turbo brush in reverse, thereby removing hair and pet hair thanks to the toothed design on the cover. This solution is unique and, looking ahead, effective. In my tests, I'll demonstrate how the self-cleaning function of the central brush works.
Testing
A detailed video review of the Eufy Clean X8 Pro, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel:
Navigation
Finally, let's move on to the tests. First, we'll test the Eufy Clean X8 Pro's navigation in a room with obstacles. When entering the room, the robot vacuum first navigates the perimeter, then cleans the entire accessible area in a serpentine pattern. The legs of the clothes dryer presented no problems. The robot also navigated around all four chair legs and a box, before returning to its base. Test successful!
Speaking of navigation within the home, the Eufy Clean X8 Pro cleans room by room, first along the perimeter, then in a serpentine pattern. There are no uncleaned areas, the cleaning speed is high, and this model has excellent navigation!
Identifying and avoiding objects
The robot's obstacle detection and avoidance system, specifically the sensor on the front bumper, was tested separately. However, the robot doesn't recognize objects or even identify them. It navigates like a typical lidar robot, pushing everything in its path and chewing up wires, socks, and other objects. Therefore, it's unclear what kind of AI.MAP technology this is or how it works. However, to be fair, it's worth noting that the manufacturer doesn't claim to have an obstacle avoidance feature in its promotional materials.
Suction power
The suction power was impressive, though. The Eufy Clean X8 Pro was able to suck up debris from crevices up to 10 mm deep. It's truly a very powerful robot vacuum.
Dry cleaning
The collection quality of various types of debris on laminate floors is good. Only a little debris remains in the corners, where round robotic vacuums can't reach. All debris is collected in the dust bin. It's important to note that the central brush doesn't get tangled in hair. That's a plus!
Carpet cleaning
Cleaning performance on medium-pile carpets is above average. The robot vacuum cleaner successfully removed hair, fur, and other debris from the carpet thanks to its floating turbo brush and exceptional suction power.
Self-cleaning
Immediately after the "dirty tests," I tested the Eufy Clean X8 Pro's self-cleaning performance. I ran it again in a room with a lot of debris, which the robot picked up without any trouble. The dust bin was completely full. I returned the robot to the station and started self-cleaning. The results were good. The dust bin was almost completely empty, and I'd especially like to point out that the turbo brush was also clean again. I can say that the turbo brush's self-cleaning feature is also well-implemented and helps detangle hair and pet hair, which is a plus!
What I didn't like was the design of the HEPA filter. Because the mesh isn't removable, fine dust gets trapped between the mesh and the HEPA filter itself, making it impossible to shake out. It's not very convenient.
Wet cleaning
The dirt removal performance is also excellent. The cloth presses firmly to the floor and absorbs dirt. This leaves only a narrow, unwashed area along the baseboard, which is a weak point for almost all the robot vacuums we reviewed. However, as expected, this robot's blind spot is larger due to the bare areas of the cloth on the sides. With the Eufy Clean X8 Pro, the blind spot is approximately 8 cm wide.
Wet cleaning and carpets
Regarding wet cleaning on carpets, since the robot doesn't have a carpet sensor, it can't detect carpets and automatically avoid them during cleaning. Therefore, it passes over the carpet with the cleaning pad installed. Special no-go zones for wet cleaning mode will help protect carpets from getting wet.
Obstacle clearance
The Eufy Clean X8 Pro has excellent maneuverability. It can even overcome 2 cm thresholds. That's a plus!
Driving on black surfaces
Another plus is that the Eufy Clean X8 Pro is not afraid of black surfaces and moves easily over them.
Noise level
I personally measured the noise level. It's between 60 and 66 dB, depending on the selected operating mode. Considering the suction power, I'd say this robot's noise level is low.
Personal opinion
The Eufy Clean X8 Pro robot vacuum cleaner has been thoroughly reviewed and tested. our evaluation system he managed to gain 132 pointsSome points were deducted because this model hasn't yet been released in our market; there are no consumables or official sales, and it's unclear whether it will ever be available.
Overall rating of tested robot vacuum cleaners:https://robovac.washerhouse.com/en/rejtingi/robovac-obshhij-rejting-robotov-pylesosov-robo.html.
I'll highlight the pros and cons of the robot vacuum cleaner I reviewed, and then share my opinion. I liked the following:
- High suction power.
- High quality dry and wet cleaning on various surfaces.
- High-quality self-cleaning dust collector at the station.
- Self-cleaning turbo brush from hair and wool.
- Convenient branded application.
- The robot vacuum cleaner is not afraid of black surfaces.
- Good cross-country ability.
- Low noise level.
- High quality assembly.
Among the main comments about the robot, I would highlight:
- Doesn't recognize objects on the floor.
- The napkin does not rise on carpets.
- It is not able to detect carpets and automatically avoid them in wet cleaning mode.
- There's a blind spot along the baseboard where the napkin can't reach. Moreover, due to the bare spots on the sides, this blind spot is wider than in similar products.
Also, a few comments about the fact that the central brush is non-detachable and the HEPA filter mesh is non-removable.
We see that the model's advantages outweigh its disadvantages. Ultimately, I can say that the Eufy Clean X8 Pro is a powerful and reliable self-cleaning robot vacuum cleaner suitable for pet owners. If the above-mentioned issues aren't critical for you, I see no other compelling reasons not to recommend this robot.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping. Bye!
